Rustic, Rural, Relaxing, Romantic...our camp site is for you. Located on the edge of town, and on the Boorowa River, our land offers peace and quiet with plenty of space. Overlooking rural paddocks, and the river, you can enjoy the tranquility that a farming landscape has to offer. Perfect family holiday location. Town center is a 5 min drive or a short walk/ride, so access to town facilities and amenities is very convenient. Please refer to images for the latter. Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area. River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk. Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin! Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them. Please ensure you book the site you prefer by referring to the image of the sites in this listing. Check image for entrance locations for each site. You will need to be a self-contained camper with own camping toilet/shower, and supplies. We have one power outlet available (only available for "Wombles Common" sites). Camp kitchen - no longer available. We LOVE to see your photos, please feel free to share your camping adventure by uploading your happy snaps. Known as the Hilltop region, the township of Boorowa, and surrounds are full of rolling hills, farmlands and bush. If you visit in spring, you'll be able to see fields full of bright yellow canola flowers as far as the eye can see. Bring your camera! Townships close by: Yass, Young, Harden, Binalong, Rye Park, Cowra, Wyangla Dam, Burrinjuck Dam, Wee Jasper (1.5hrs from Canberra, 3.5hrs from Sydney). Our quiet rural retreat is just under 30 acres and has kangaroos, wombats ,possums and echidnas , wallabies and a range of bird life. Our property is a hobby farm with chickens, vegetable garden and we make condiments and fresh farm eggs to sell , we bake fresh bread on demand. We are pet friendly but pets must be controlled at all times and not chase the wildlife. We have a off leash area that is fenced where your fury friends can have play dates and run around. Come and camp on the banks of the Lachlan River just 10kms from Cowra and 27km from Wyangala Dam. The property is located off the Darby Falls Road in Cudgelo lane just 10mins from the township of Cowra. With 500m of river frontage and only two camp sites privacy is assured. With no amenities these campsites are for the self-sufficient campers only with their own showers/Toilets and drinking water. As this is a working property pets on leash only, as stock could be wandering around meaning all gates that are closed need to remain closed after entry/exit. Note: There is NO direct access to put boats in the river. Please see the mud map in the photos for the location and your campsite. Other things to note Wyangala Dam and village are nearby with access to watersports, fishing and nature walks. Cowra township is a short 10-minute drive away with a range of shops and facilities. The river paddock has 500m of river frontage and spans 100 acres so go for a walk or maybe try your luck at fishing by dropping in a line. Wildlife abounds with rabbits, kangaroos and if in luck you could see the resident wombat going for stroll.

Weekend Trip to Travellers Rest

Fiona and John were great and Travellers Rest was such a quiet and peaceful stay. We were met on arrival with such a friendly vib and nothing was too much trouble. Fiona's homemade relish and sauces were delicious and added to the whole experienced. We had a visit from the host's lovely pups... just delightful. 100% recommend, thanks Fiona and John!

Weekend Trip to Boorowa Hipcamp - Wombles Common

Another great stay at Boorowa Wombles Common. The area was clean mown and right on the river. Love the addition of a firepit. The adjoining pathway was great to take into town both walking and bike riding. We enjoyed watching the sheep wander around the paddock and the creeky windmill across the river gave that real country feel not forgetting the view of beautiful sunsets and sunrise. Easy to find location although our 19ft van is possibly maximum size to get through the main gate. We even managed to catch a rather large carp on the first night. Will come back again

A top spot! Beautiful campsite overlooking the river, nicely mowed with great instructions to get to site. Patrick was a great host, great communication and helpful info about the local area. Would come back to this spot again. Recommend if you are looking for a quiet spot to yourself.

Lovely friendly hosts. Fantastic place because it was so quiet and peaceful. John went out of his way to help us navigate the local roads; we were very appreciative. Bought some of Fiona’s jam and condiments. Delicious! Would definitely recommend.

This property is perfect, so quite, lots of wildlife and you must purchase some of the owners' homemade products thay are to die for. We used the location as a home base for visiting family and some of the great attractions not to far away We will return for a longer stay.
