We are a 4 minute drive from the historical town of Gladstone, which has a bakery, butcher, general store, retail shops, fruit and veg shop, nursery, cafes, restaurants, an op-shop, second hand wares shop, galleries, outdoor swim centre and of course the local pub. Gladstone Markets are on the 3rd Sunday of the month. It's a 20 minute drive to South West Rocks, Hat Head and Crescent Head. Just 45 minutes north of Port Macquarie and 1 hour south of Coffs Harbour. Please arrive before dark, or advise arrival time if not possible . You must be fully self contained, there are no facilities. Please no tents or swags. Enjoy a beautiful campsite near a large dam, watch the ducks, rosellas, cranes, herons and the occasional Jabiru, feed and nest in the trees. A great spot for bird watching. Pick your own spot, maybe near one of the fire braziers, but not directly under the trees if windy. No livestock on property but we have visiting kangaroos, tortoises, green frogs, and eels in the dam if you want to fish for them. Mid Coast Flying operate a private 800 metre airstrip on the property, and Trial Instructional Flights (TIFS) are available, for $150 for 45 minutes. Please speak to Ross when you arrive. You can pick your own site. Unfortunately we may have to close after torrential rain events. We are also pet friendly, however there are no bins, so please pick up after your pets in the camping area. Water is available near the hangar as you drive in.

Heartwood Farm is a centrally located 120 acres on the Mid-North Coast - about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, only 1.5 kms off Pacific Highway, 25 mins to Port Macquarie, 15 Mins to Kempsey, 30 minutes to Crescent Head and 45 mins to South West Rocks. We are off grid and live close to nature and enjoy the abundance that provides. We have been building and developing for the last few years. We are still a work in progress. There are three Brumbies that live over the fence and 5 other horses that will no doubt come and say hello. They are all friendly, especially if you have a carrot. There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies, some quite friendly as they have been raised by our neighbour who does animal rescue. There are also a lot of different species of birds, including the much-loved Black Cockatoos which are in abundance here. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas.

We absolutely loved our time at the farm... The limited number of sites is perfect so you can spread out. The dogs loved. 🐾 Des, Rod and Wendy truly make the experience it was so lovely talking to them and finding out all about the history of the property. The nearby swimming spots are pristine and great for a cool down. The amenities were clean and well maintained. We highly recommend the farm. Ps. If you can get your hands on some of Des's organic beetroot hummus made on site it is to die for. ❤️

Absolutely beautiful location and hosts! Amenities were clean (only a short walk to the campsite), firewood was provided and everyone was so lovely! The hosts were very generous with their time- they invited us to see and learn about the garden and were always open for a chat. Wendy was gorgeous and Rod too. They let us know the local swimming spots and trail walks so there was plenty to do and see. The resident dog was sweet and our dogs had a great time socialising off the lead. We’ll be back for sure!! Thank you for sharing your pocket of paradise 🤍

Peaceful and quiet and a great spot in the bush to spend a couple of days. Been here a few times now and will keep returning from time to time. You can access most of the property for wandering around and will find a few friendly horses eager for a pat and a carrot.

We had a beautiful stay at Homegrown Farm. Extremely peaceful & serene, it was just what we were after. So many stars to see while relaxing by the fire pit. Lovely peaceful quiet spot amoungst the trees. Nicely grassed so clean camping. Had been very wet few weeks prior. Lorraine and Lily were very welcoming as were the dogs. Had a couple of visits from the horses one of which seemed to like licking my feet……. I had the whole place to myself. Can recommend for a quiet getaway. Cheers. Ray.

Amazing! Simply amazing. A lovely campground by a small reservior. Easy access and loads of level campground options. Lorraine was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to stay a second night. Remember to bring some carrots for her beautiful friendly horses. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The owners were incredible, quickly processed a refund for us when we had to leave early for a family emergency. The mountain views were very peaceful. Lots of chirping birds and was a delight to wake up to. The river/swimming hole was absolutely delightful, although if you’re like us and have a rooftop tent, it was a little annoying having to pack up camp each time you wanted to go as it is a public swimming hole, and about a 5 minute drive out of the campsite. But would definitely go back as it’s a great location! 🌈☀️

What a beautiful place. The caretaker, Wendy was lovely and very helpful. The camping spot was nice and big. A very big positive is the clean toilet and showers with a clean hand towel provided every day. A swim in the dam was amazing and a stroll through the amazing organic garden is a must! All campers were very respectful and clean up after themselves. The beautiful Simba (Sim) the dog, is just too happy to say hello every day and have a play with the other dogs. I would highly recommend this destination. Desley is lovely and very happy to share the ins and outs of the farm.

As we are located on the North Shore of Port Macquarie, you will need to either access the property via the Settlement Point Ferry or take the dirt road through Kempsey (which can be in poor condition at times). The Hibbard Ferry is only 300 m from the campsite, making it easy to pop into town, explore Port Macquarie’s attractions, or visit the region’s wineries. For longer stays, a discounted ferry pass can be purchased on your behalf. North Shore Beach is a 5-minute drive away, and the local gin distillery is just a 15–20 minute drive up Maria River Road. If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim. The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

Secluded Racecourse Beach is a short drive south of Crescent Head on the mid-north coast of NSW. We have a beautiful 11 acres of coastal land where you can hear the waves as you sleep with the pristine Racecourse Beach only a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp.
