There is also a proper flushing toilet and hot/cold shower, solar lighting and USB charging port. QUICK CAMPS We also have 5 Quick Camp spaces for those self-sufficient campers who want to get away from it all in a quiet neck-of-the-woods. You'll be surrounded by peace and quiet to pull up the van, pitch the tent or roll out the swag. At night, sit and listen to the sounds of silence as you glance up to the stars. This spot feels a world away but still has the convenience of being only 10 minutes off the Hume Hwy and only 20 minutes from Goulburn where you can get all your daily needs. With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. Founded in 1981 by a group of teenagers in Sydney, Atlantium has since evolved into a global civil society organisation and micronation, boasting thousands of citizens across over a hundred countries. Atlantium is the only country you can drive to from Australia, making it a one-of-a-kind destination. Since acquiring our 200-acre pastoral estate near Reids Flat, NSW, in 2008, we've developed it as our ceremonial capital. Visitors can explore Government House (the Golden House), our post office, a pyramid, and various other monuments and buildings. We currently offer two accommodation options: Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape. The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay. Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

There's lots of separated camp sites so you'll easily find a spot that suits you without being on top of other campers. The facilities are in good condition and always clean.

We enjoyed our stay at the Pines in our tent. Directions were easy to follow and each site has clear direction. Some camp sites are dirt and some grass, each with their own fire bucket. We picked a grass site on top of the hill for the nice view. We would stay again.

Another great stay at Boorowa Wombles Common. The area was clean mown and right on the river. Love the addition of a firepit. The adjoining pathway was great to take into town both walking and bike riding. We enjoyed watching the sheep wander around the paddock and the creeky windmill across the river gave that real country feel not forgetting the view of beautiful sunsets and sunrise. Easy to find location although our 19ft van is possibly maximum size to get through the main gate. We even managed to catch a rather large carp on the first night. Will come back again

Access is not too far from the Hume Hwy and its so calm and serene property. From tennis court to bicycles and camp kitchen, its perfect for kids and adults alike..

Weekend Trip to K2 River Island Nature Retreat

Beautiful, and lots to do. Facilities clean and well maintained. Tons of wildlife to see right onsite. An extra huge thank you to Manuel who went above and beyond, helped us get our camper trailer in and out of the valley. We loved it and will definitely be back.

I loved camping at Revelstone mountain's camps. On-top of a mountain, quiet peaceful serenity. Campsites are clean, setup to be relaxing and peaceful time. Planning to make this our regular campsite. Plenty of kangaroos of an evening.

Weekend Trip to Shepherds Rest

My family, our dog and some close friends drove down from Sydney to Shepherds Rest for a nice long weekend get away, and honestly aside from the wind deciding it wanted to party - it was such a beautiful area. The local fauna gave a symphony of sounds to wake up to, along side the crisp, fresh air. Jacqui’s property has a communal area with a cozy kitchen, clean bathroom space, seated bbq space and fire pits. Jacqui is a super wholesome and lovely host, who is more than willing to try and help out for anything you need, we were greeted by her and her little shadow Brookie, a cattle dog who just wants to love you and check in on you. If you’re wondering if Shepherd’s rest is worth the visit (or the drive, if you’re from Sydney) I can with confidence 100% say for certain. Just make sure to pack for the weather in the cooler months, cause it can get really cold of a night time. Thanks again for having us, Jacqui. :)

1 night at K2 River Island Nature Retreat

Friendly and welcoming staff, and a lovely campsite right next to the river with kangaroos around. Since the sites are not marked, it can get quite crowded and close to neighbouring tents during peak season. Still, it’s a beautiful spot and a great place by the water.
