ACCESSING THE ISLAND
The easiest way to get to Cockatoo Island is by public ferry. The F3 and F8 services operate to Cockatoo Island daily, departing from Circular Quay and Barangaroo as well as from wharves along Parramatta River. Note: There is no vehicle access to or on the island.

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.
Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests.

We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!
We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water.
You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

Our property is just 30mins from Windsor, in the beautiful Hawkesbury Region. You'll arrive via 2.5km of winding dirt road, suitable for 2wd, subject to potholes after heavy rain. The road may not be suitable for larger vans due to a few tight corners.

Do not light a fire without approval from owners. Approval for a fire is dependent on weather, conditions, and restrictions. Fires must be kept small. No chainsaws or generators. No Pets. Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.

You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

FULLY BOOKED EASTER LONG WEEKEND
Beautiful property, nestled in the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW.
Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.
(Saturday night 2-night minimum)
There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred.
There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day.
There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers!
ALL waste is to leave with you!
There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads.
The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week Thurs-Sun, just 10kms up the road providing last-minute supplies, ice, bottle shop, and cafe services.
Please note: Due to our location bookings may be canceled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. We trust you will understand we are only looking out for your safety and of course, Hipcamp credits will be arranged.

Location is in the backyard of the owner’s cottage residence which was established in 1938, “The Printery” once operated as a printing factory and housed printing presses and machinery up to the 60's. The local newspaper “The Manly Daily” was printed on the property from 1940-41. Separate private entrance.

Had a great overnight stay here. The place is quiet, peaceful, and perfect if you just want to unwind without having to travel too far.
Amenities are 10/10 and the whole site is clean and well-maintained. I’d definitely recommend this spot, especially for first-time campers since almost everything you need is already available.
Lambert was a legend—super friendly and gave me a full run-through of the site and amenities when I arrived.
Will definitely be back!

Very pretty spot and nice tent. Enjoyed the bush walks, feeding the goats and alpacas and just relaxing near the river. We had a thunderstorm for about an hour but the tent was unfazed and we stayed dry so all good!

Well maintained site, peaceful and quiet. A few horses nearby, and orchard right behind (we weren’t in season for fruit picking though). Portaloo and tap to wash up close by. Flushable toilet and showers a few minutes walk away.
Mini easy hike to a waterfall nearby - watch out for leeches though!
Our highlight was toasting marshmallow under the stars and spotting Jupiter with the kids ✨

What an amazing spot! Our kids (8 and 4 yo) said this was their favorite camping trip to date - and we’ve done a lot! Highlights from them were: feeding the animals each day and the beautiful swimming holes we found on our bushwalks. Highlights from the adults: not having to pack a mountain of camping gear, rocking up to a set up campsite and access to a bathroom/kitchenette. Melissa was so hopeful and took extra time and care showing the boys how to feed the animals each day. We were all sad to leave but we promised the kids we’ll be back! Thanks for a wonderful, relaxing stay!

What a great place to relax and unwind and so close to Gosford. Sites were generous, a little slope but nothing to worry about. A stroll through forest with the 7m waterfall was stunning. The facilities were in the process of getting a major upgrade but we found the existing ones still worked fine. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Excellent location, very quite place and river next to it makes it perfect camping spots for adults and kids, as small as infants. The river is extremely clean and safe for kids to pay in, as long as they are monitored. The water is below your knee height. They have hot shower and toilet facility and provides woodfire at extra cost. Bring your own drinking water though. Yarra, the owner is very nice and helpful as well. The only downfall about this location is that you have to take your rubbish back with you, but we didn't mind because we had space in the car. So, keep some space in the car and bring extra bags or box to keep your rubbish. Main reason we chose this place was because of the river and off leash dogs are allowed here. It is somewhat a fenced area so our Belgian Shepherd was safe, could roam freely and loved this place.

Lovely spot by the river. The outdoor kitchen and fire pits were fabulous. Steps down to the river so you could go for a swim. Plenty of room for everyone. Hosts were very responsive to any inquiries. Great place to stay

This is the second time we have amped at De View. Yar, the host, is very helpful with providing all necessary information. The site was lush and green. The river was so refreshing. No reception or internet - which is exactly how we like it! Our dog loved making friends with the other dogs too.

I had a fantastic stay here. The site was peaceful, clean, and beautifully set in nature. It was a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings. The host was welcoming, friendly and helpful, and everything was easy and well organised. Great facilities, including a swimming pool. Would happily stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, enjoyable camping spot with decent facilities.
