This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food.
Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland.

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family.
Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990.
Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food.
If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season.
With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs.
This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow.
The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock.
There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower.
Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use.
We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses.

Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests.
We currently offer two accommodation options:
Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape.
The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay.
Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range.
It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening.
Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden.
Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area.
Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite.
Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies.
Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

This is a working farm approx 70% cleared remainder bush. Sub Alpine so the temperature can change quickly and snow, the area has quite a verity of bird and animals. There are currently 5 paddocks available no set campsites you pick your own site near mountain stream or in the bush also available is a self-contained cottage (view our separate listing for Calabash Manager's Cottage). This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing.
There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place.
Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs.
Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions.
No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options!
No mobile phone reception if you walk around the paddock you may get a signal, If you need to contact us once you have a booking, contact us via email or landline.
Temperature can change quickly and in winter you could be snowed in, so be prepared.

We are very pleased to announce that we have just installed reverse cycle heating and air conditioning for your added comfort.
There are ceiling fans if required. A 'Tastic' heater is in the bathroom for extra comfort.
Enjoy exclusive use of our 10m swimming pool, BBQ, and deck.
We will take children, over 5 years old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times.
A fold-up bed is available as an extra bed, and the charge for extras per night is $30.00, to cover costs with extra laundry, cleaning etc.
You will find some up-to-date magazines to relax with while here, DVDs, and complimentary chocolate.
The nearest shop/food outlet is in Yass, so I advise guests to bring dinner with them or to book a home-cooked meal to be served in the BnB.
Our guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool and deck with elevated views of the surrounding spectacular scenery. Feel free to wander around the garden. We endeavour to keep the pool sparkling, but cannot always guarantee perfection. No diving please, for your own safety.
A BBQ is available for use on the deck.
Other things to note
Continental breakfast is included, and if you require an evening meal, I can provide a two-course dinner for $40/person.. Please give advance notice if this is required, preferably when booking.
We are a pet-friendly B&B, and welcome your pets but expect them to be clean and obedient. We charge $10 extra for one dog/night and $15/night for two dogs/night. We ask that you provide your pets with bedding and food bowls, and they are not allowed on the bed or sofa under any circumstances. Please don't go out and leave your pets behind, unless under very special circumstances and we have been asked first.

Nestled alongside the upper reaches of the Clyde River, acknowledged to be the cleanest and most pristine waterway in Eastern Australia, lies the Clyde River Retreat – a haven of beauty, peace and tranquility.
This is a special place – surrounded on all sides by State Forest and National Park, miles from the nearest neighbours (other than the resident native wildlife) it is a perfect place to get away from it all.
With almost a kilometre of river frontage, the retreat is perfect for fishing or swimming in the Clyde river, bush-walking in the local forests, or for use as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national parks. In particular, the Clyde River Retreat is the perfect accommodation for visiting the spectacular Pigeon House Mountain (Didthul), or the many other scenic bushwalks in Morton National park. We are not far from the Clyde River Berry Farm (open in December and January).
For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavours.
You can spend all your time on the Retreat, or you can explore the local area. You are only 30 minutes from many of the beautiful beaches of the South Coast, or from the lovely villages of Milton and Nelligen. Ulladulla and Bateman’s Bay are also nearby.

Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests.
We currently offer two accommodation options:
Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape.
The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay.
Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range.
It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening.
Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden.
Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area.
Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite.
Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies.
Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

This is a working farm approx 70% cleared remainder bush. Sub Alpine so the temperature can change quickly and snow, the area has quite a verity of bird and animals. There are currently 5 paddocks available no set campsites you pick your own site near mountain stream or in the bush also available is a self-contained cottage (view our separate listing for Calabash Manager's Cottage). This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing.
There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place.
Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs.
Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions.
No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options!
No mobile phone reception if you walk around the paddock you may get a signal, If you need to contact us once you have a booking, contact us via email or landline.
Temperature can change quickly and in winter you could be snowed in, so be prepared.

The space consists of a queen-sized bed with 100% cotton white line-dried sheets, and a modern ensuite bathroom. A sitting area with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The cooking space is quite small and best for fairly basic food preparation. Also included is a TV. (32" flat screen) and a DVD player.
We are very pleased to announce that we have just installed reverse cycle heating and air conditioning for your added comfort.
There are ceiling fans if required. A 'Tastic' heater is in the bathroom for extra comfort.
Enjoy exclusive use of our 10m swimming pool, BBQ, and deck.
We will take children, over 5 years old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times.
A fold-up bed is available as an extra bed, and the charge for extras per night is $30.00, to cover costs with extra laundry, cleaning etc.
You will find some up-to-date magazines to relax with while here, DVDs, and complimentary chocolate.
The nearest shop/food outlet is in Yass, so I advise guests to bring dinner with them or to book a home-cooked meal to be served in the BnB.
Our guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool and deck with elevated views of the surrounding spectacular scenery. Feel free to wander around the garden. We endeavour to keep the pool sparkling, but cannot always guarantee perfection. No diving please, for your own safety.
A BBQ is available for use on the deck.
Other things to note
Continental breakfast is included, and if you require an evening meal, I can provide a two-course dinner for $40/person.. Please give advance notice if this is required, preferably when booking.
We are a pet-friendly B&B, and welcome your pets but expect them to be clean and obedient. We charge $10 extra for one dog/night and $15/night for two dogs/night. We ask that you provide your pets with bedding and food bowls, and they are not allowed on the bed or sofa under any circumstances. Please don't go out and leave your pets behind, unless under very special circumstances and we have been asked first.

The Campervan at Margot's was the perfect getaway for someone who doesn't have all the gear but still enjoys some time outdoors! The owners were very attentive and welcoming of me and my dog.

I spent New Year’s Eve in the Barn Room with my dog to escape the fireworks and chaos in my beachside town. It was perfect!
The massive paddock was well fenced and mowed and my dog loved running around with Jacqui’s two dogs. Such peace of mind knowing my dog could amuse herself and run free.
Jacqui was incredibly helpful and hospitable.
The facilities were great and I loved the rustic wooden bathhouse. Great to have wifi access and Telstra signal isn’t great, especially during peak holiday time. The sunset was spectacular and it was incredibly quiet. A beautiful peaceful place.

We had an amazing glamping experience! The host and service were excellent—very welcoming and thoughtful. The place is peaceful and perfectly located in the middle of nature, which made it truly relaxing. The host generously provided lots of free firewood and fresh eggs, which was a lovely touch. The tent was spacious and comfortable and my dog enjoyed the stay even more than we did! We were also given free BBQ equipment and gas, which made our evenings even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm getaway close to nature. Just make sure to bring enough drinking water.

Love the Shack, the inside and outside of the Shack is clean and tidy. The property is very near the river and my 2 sons enjoyed swimming and fishing in the river.
The Shack have a fireplace inside for cold nights.

Very well located camping facility next to Goulburn. The designated area has some open grass for campfires and general activities, trees to explore and collect firewood from, and a small pond. Our 2-night stay gave us the chance to switch off from the city and immerse in the sounds of frogs and birds at night, while daytime was spent spotting the odd wallaby (and a feral deer) amongst the woods. It was also very nice for the hosts to put our 2 tents close to each other, since we came as 2 families and this allowed us to do all activities together instead of being on opposite ends of the property. Omar and Mya are very hospitable hosts and have excellent knowledge of their property to make a stay here a real treat!

Beautifully maintained camping grounds and very nice setting. We camped, but also used the van as an ensuite/kitchen storage, which worked well. There's only a few camp sites which can be booked at the same time so there is a great amount of privacy and we could camp a long way away from other campers. The Shack provided us with the perfect long weekend retreat. Phil has set up the Shack with a cooker, chairs, table, comfortable beds and cooking utensils. The view to the river is beautiful and we enjoyed a refreshing swim and paddle board. We loved the indoor and outdoor fire - plenty of firewood provided! The best part - total peace and quiet! Shepherd's Rest is a magic little spot. We stayed in the Barn Room and it was so comfortable and cozy... Not that we were in it much! The property and amenities are awesome, so much secure space for the kids to roam, a beautiful bathroom (love the bath) and gorgeous little kitchen. The animals are very curious and friendly (especially Squashy the llama!) and our dog got on really well with Jacqui's own sweet doggo. Jacqui was an exceptional host, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to plan our next trip back!

We loved staying at the river shack - it has everything you need for a relaxing, off-grid holiday. The shack is well stocked with cooking supplies and firewood and the log burner kept us cosy during the cold nights. The view from the deck was lovely - we even saw 2 platypus! The most beautiful site on the river. So private, serene and relaxing. We were a bit worried about the cold (sub zero) but the shack is SO cosy with the fire. Well stocked with cooking gear, firewood and two drums of water (we still BYO drinking water). We were visited by a wombat and platypus!
