The Bell Tent was amazing! We enjoyed every single minute of it and the hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. The pizza was very delicious and sitting by the firepit drinking our complementary beers kept us warm on a cool night. What an amazing place to camp in Sydney! Truly remarkable. Beautiful campsite and first class amenities like hot showers and a great kitchen. We also did a guided tour which I can’t recommend highly enough - so fascinating and brought a much deeper level of meaning to our trip. I also really enjoyed the mobility yoga class, be sure to ask if they’re offering it. Amazing getaway for families, solo campers, history buffs or someone just wanting to test out gear and have an adventure!

What a cool experience! Catching the ferry over was really easy and there are some beautiful views of the harbour. My Deluxe Waterfront tent had a great view of the water and was decked out with stretcher beds, bedding, camp chairs & towels. The bathroom & camp kitchen facilities are great - clean & stocked with all you need! The island has an interesting history and I really recommend doing a tour. Loved my stay at Cockatoo Island! Such a unique place to camp. The facilities, like the fully equipped camp kitchen and the bathrooms with hot showers, were super convenient and kept spotless the whole time. The stretcher bed was really comfy, and it was awesome having everything provided—towels, bedding, chairs, soap, you name it! The harbour views were stunning, and I loved getting to explore the island and learn about its history.

Stayed at the Waterfront Deluxe campsite on Cockatoo Island, and it was incredible! Waking up to stunning harbour views and the sound of waves was magical. The pre-pitched tent was super comfy with a proper bed, bedding, and towels—felt like glamping. Facilities were clean and well-maintained, with hot showers and BBQ areas. Brooke from the Hipcamp team, I absolutely LOVED my stay! As someone who has experienced many Hipcamps, this one stood out in all the best ways. ACCESS: Getting there was a breeze! The ferry from Circular Quay runs about every 30 minutes, and the journey itself is part of the adventure. Passing under the Harbour Bridge and seeing the Opera House up close was magical. SLEEPING: I stayed in a deluxe waterfront tent, and it was super comfortable with bedding provided—such a treat! The “pitch your own tent” area looked equally amazing, and I’d love to try it next time. It’s so convenient since all you need to bring is your tent and bedding; everything else is available on the island, from cafes to fresh water. AMENITIES: The facilities here are fantastic! Hot water on demand from a zip machine (incredible!), hot showers, and flushing toilets set into the stunning granite rockface with towering fig trees—such a unique touch. The camp kitchen is well-equipped with microwaves, toasters, big fridges, BBQs, and plenty of seating, making it perfect for groups. And let’s not forget the breathtaking harbour views that make every moment feel special. EXTRAS: The regular ferry service makes this an ideal base for exploring the city. During my stay, I joined two tours and learned so much about the island’s fascinating history. Another highlight? Watching a free outdoor movie in one of the island’s historic buildings—what a memorable experience!

NSW Ski Gardens

NSW Ski Gardens is situated on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Wisemans Ferry. Every October - April is our peak time and its busy! Please be aware there is river noise during our busy times on weekends so may not suit those looking for tranquillity on weekends. During the week it's fine but weekends are busy and a bit noisy. We are 1.2 km from the township along the River Road. There are powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers set in a rustic location. Amenities include hot showers, laundry, on-site kiosk and boat ramp (fee applicable). BBQ and covered picnic area. Dogs are welcome on leash. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.

Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

A breakfast bar with stools acts as a desk and eatery and is positioned in front of a huge swing out window that overlooks the outdoor spa, deck and the view to the back paddock which is superb (binoculars provided)! A lounge is situated inside the French entrance doors and this position allows a fantastic view out to the paddocks and the deck and is a great please to read and relax. The deck itself is huge and features an outdoor spa bath as well as alfresco seating with a table and sweeping stairs leading down to the grass area and firepit/bbq. Luxurious bath robes and towels are also provided. The tiny house is surrounded by beautiful native trees and plants and the grassed area in front of the deck features a gorgeous fire pit with seating. A historic little rustic outhouse houses extra firewood. Some board games, playing cards and books are provided as well as outdoor games like Finska, croquet, grip ball, boule and ring toss. Access to the properties back paddock is through a gate and there you will be surrounded by beautiful vistas and a creek at the bottom. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife for you to enjoy and view. Regular visitors include wallabies, bush turkeys, turtles, cockatoos, ducks and many other birds. There is a 'home made' grass tennis court and rackets and a few balls are provided but feel free to bring your own. For the adventurous, the creek has a log bridge which accesses the far side featuring a wild and luscious rainforest area.
