Back at Rosewood Farm, you’ll be greeted by our friendly alpacas and pygmy goats who love pats, hand-feeding, and attention. Your spacious bell tent will be fully prepared for your arrival, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for up to four guests. The campsite is thoughtfully equipped with quality bedding, a mini Weber BBQ, battery lighting, a dining seating, an open fire pit, and a shared shower and toilet (located in a separate area attached to the farmhouse)

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar.

The White Gum Forest Retreat offers campsites nestled in a white gum forest, not far from a beautiful trickling creek. There is access to toilets and a small dam near the campsites for water supply for showers if required.
The Camel Cottage offers a luxe off-the-grid escape for couples just one hour from Sydney but feels like "miles from anywhere".
The Gums Cottage is a fully contained, off-grid modern getaway, surrounded by the magnificent white gum trees that are its namesake. The serene setting and stylish interior of The Gums provides all the essentials for a picturesque and peaceful country escape.
There is 5G mobile telephone reception at the farm so you can reconnect with the world if need be. No pets please. Please keep all gates closed.

A breakfast bar with stools acts as a desk and eatery and is positioned in front of a huge swing out window that overlooks the outdoor spa, deck and the view to the back paddock which is superb (binoculars provided)!
A lounge is situated inside the French entrance doors and this position allows a fantastic view out to the paddocks and the deck and is a great please to read and relax.
The deck itself is huge and features an outdoor spa bath as well as alfresco seating with a table and sweeping stairs leading down to the grass area and firepit/bbq. Luxurious bath robes and towels are also provided.
The tiny house is surrounded by beautiful native trees and plants and the grassed area in front of the deck features a gorgeous fire pit with seating. A historic little rustic outhouse houses extra firewood.
Some board games, playing cards and books are provided as well as outdoor games like Finska, croquet, grip ball, boule and ring toss.
Access to the properties back paddock is through a gate and there you will be surrounded by beautiful vistas and a creek at the bottom. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife for you to enjoy and view. Regular visitors include wallabies, bush turkeys, turtles, cockatoos, ducks and many other birds. There is a 'home made' grass tennis court and rackets and a few balls are provided but feel free to bring your own. For the adventurous, the creek has a log bridge which accesses the far side featuring a wild and luscious rainforest area.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at The Rosewood. We travelled with two children aged 7 and 4, and it was absolutely perfect for a family getaway.
The bell tent was very comfortable, with a double/queen bed for us and two single mattresses on the floor for the kids. There was a dining table inside the tent and a Weber BBQ outside, which we used for both breakfast and dinner — such a great setup.
The private shower, toilet, fridge and kettle were located in the main house out the back, around a short walk from the tent (approximately 50 metres). It was private and well set up.
One of our favourite experiences was the fireplace by the river, where we enjoyed making s’mores and marshmallows with the kids (we brought our own lighters and fire starters). The campsite is right beside the creek and offered plenty of opportunities for exploring. The terrain isn’t flat, so just something to be mindful of, but we did find a lovely section with running water very close to the camp that was perfect for the kids to play in.
The absolute highlight of our stay was meeting the animals — the goats Bon Bon, Cutlet and Cookie, and the alpacas Humphrey and Marshall. We were lucky enough to help with feeding time, and the kids still talk about it as the best part of the trip.
The host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to families.

My wife, little kiddies (5y/o,3y/o) and I recently stayed at what can only be described as a peaceful, private retreat with lots of fun to be had. From feeding the delightful goats, Cookie, Cutlet and Bon Bon, and alpacas, Marshall and Humphrey, which if your kids are anything like mine, animal crazy! Then they will love the closeness from the spacious tent, a short walk or toddle to the fence to greet them each morning. Hosts were warm and welcoming, also took time for a chat while feeding the animals which again was a highlight for the kids. After feeding time a short walk down to the river for a cool dip was refreshing way to start the day. It felt like the river was right there in the backyard. Charming fire pit with logs for sitting. Hosts set out firewood for our convenience. Amenities were considered too, very much felt like a great balance of glamping while still being out below the stars at night. As soon as we left my daughter was asking, rather telling me we need to drive back to make the next feeding time.

The way Melissa and her family have allowed people to experience the beauty of where they live is very unique. The location is stunning; right on the Bargo River with amazing birds, dragonflies, lizards and their own beautiful alpaccas and goats. Seeing/being part of the animals daily feeding routine was so good to watch or be part of. The tent set up is perfect with chairs, a fire pit, cooking utensils, a weber bbq and many other items to make your stay very easy! Beds were super comfy. The family house is nearby and they allow use of the downstairs bathroom/laundry/fridge facilities... which is amazing! Definitely a place to be respected. Theres a short walk from car parking area to site, but once youre set up, this place is bliss. The township of Tahmoor is so close and you would never know it 💚💙

I stayed in the beautiful Bell Tent at Mellows Ridge and absolutely loved it. The setting is incredible, surrounded by tall trees, birdlife, rocky outcrops, and stunning views. It’s so peaceful, with plenty of wildlife around. I even spotted a diamond python and echidnas!
The Bell Tent itself was spacious and luxurious, with lights, music, power, and a private toilet - everything you could need. Enjoying delicious wood-fired pizza and wine in the hot tub overlooking the valley was just perfect. My dog had the best time too and even made a new friend, Lana (Ian’s lovely dog), who took us on a tour to the waterfall!
Sitting by the campfire listening to the birds was so relaxing. It feels wonderfully secluded yet it’s just a short drive from town. The customer service was exceptional - having a strong coffee delivered at 7am was amazing. I really didn’t have to bring a thing.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for peace, comfort, and a touch of luxury in nature.

Stayed for 2 nights on the weekend with the family, it was lovely and my girls had the best time.
The tent was spacious & clean.
The host made the space very aesthetic and cozy. And out stay comfortable
There was Double bed and 2 single bed all with beddings, pillows and duvet covers perfect for family of 4 or any group of 4.
Everything needed for camping is there, Bbq, fridge, kettle toaster, so really we only need to bring some change clothes. The host also prepared some torches for my girls, lantern and spare batteries incase we need them, very thoughtful :)
And there’s a beautiful river nearby which was lovely for water play, quick dip, or just simply enjoy the nature . There’s also some beautiful pools with waterfalls cascades that require abit of hike 15-20 mins, we chose not to go because we have a 4yo with us.
The highlights for my daughters was the farm animals, Melissa lets them join in every feeding while we were there - lots of animals feeding & patting time, it was truly an experience for them.
This place is truly gems! Only abt 1 hour from Sydney
But feels secluded & private, shops are only 5 mins drive from the property. Its the easiest most convenient camping experience you’d have! Highly recommended! We will be back for sure

Our family trip to riverside glamping was fantastic. In the tent everything was neat and pretty with a welcome treat, and Melissa was super helpful and made sure we had no issues. Kids loved feeding the animals, and we even explored few of the recommended places that was mentioned in the file at the tent. The view from the tent is amazing, and wake up mornings with many different bird songs.

It was so great to be able to pet, hug and play with them all day long. We had fun making friends with the goats and the location was handy for a lazy weekend away. My son and I had a great stay in the Bell Tent. Very easy, lots of good walks for a five year old. Ian was friendly and we loved the pizza and the puppy!

2 nights at Rosewood Farm's Riverside Glamping
This camping spot is set in the stunning bushland along the Bargo River. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature and the river, made for a perfect escape. The goats and alpacas added an extra layer of charm to the experience and the short walk down to the river made it feel even more special.
The tent is cozy and comfortable, and the toilet and shower are just a short walk away, Having access to hot water and electricity only a stones throw away was an extra bonus!
it was the ideal blend of nature and convenience.
Our wonderful hosts were attentive and welcoming, and the location was conveniently close to town for any supplies we needed.
This glamping experience is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature with the camping experience, and without having to pitch a tent or sleep on the ground!
We will definitely be back again!

With kids
This was such a great place to spend the weekend. Everything we needed was there and Ben and Melissa were so helpful.
It is located conveniently close to town with plenty of things to do nearby.
Our kids loved the animals and the fire pit. Our hosts even set up soccer goals for our soccer loving son. We absolutely recommend and will be back to enjoy the river in warmer weather.
