A small convenient rural property flanked by natural bushland and pasture. Lots of native wildlife bouncing, flying, walking through at dusk and dawn. We have several shaded areas surrounding small dams and springs, scattered throughout the 20 acres. Located approximately 1km off Big River Way (formally the Pacific Highway) this is approximately 2km from the New Highway off-ramp. We are fortunate to have a sealed road to the front gate. The allocated camping area is 500 metres inside the front gate, located in-front of our front dam. The House is located 1km from the front gate. Currently, we do not have any livestock on the property. Dog friendly. No amenities so campers need to have own camping toilet and leave no trace. Good access for 2WD, caravans and RVs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, and there is a fire-pit available. BYO firewood or gather your own from the fallen branches or logs in and around the campsite.

We are located only a short 15 minute drive off the M1 freeway and 5 minutes from Armidale Road. Our quiet, pristine country side of semi rural rolling hills and Kangaroo River running along our western boundary provide a relaxing and picturesque place to pull up for a night or 3. You will be enchanted by our local wildlife consisting of a multitude of Kangaroos and Wallabies, abundant with colourful bird life with the odd fox or Koala paying a visit to the block. Watch the amazing sunsets as they come down over our valley displaying an array of orange, reds, pinks and purples as you cook your meal or relax with a drink or good book. Then fall asleep under the brightly visible stars of the Milky Way. Awaken to the peaceful chirping of our native bird life easing you in to your day. The local region is dotted with weekly markets and other tourist entertainment options. You can find a number of public riverside spots to spend the day lazing on a sandy beach and enjoying beautiful swimming holes within a short 5-10 minute drive of the property Although we are always introducing new attractions to our property, it is always a comfortable place to stay and will likely always be different each time you come back to stay. Developments in the pipeline will be the addition of animals, an orchard, a dam and Aquaponics vegetable production which are currently in the works. We currently have 18 chickens and 10 Angus cattle on the property and fresh organic free range eggs can be purchased at request. We really enjoyed our short stay here. The sight was tidy and well kept. Very beautiful natural surroundings and peaceful. The host, Ben, left us a good supply of pre-cut fire wood for the fire pit provided. We saw kookaburras, kangaroos and plenty of the bird life. The young cows who live there were super cute and lovely natured, watching us and we enjoyed watching them. Our daughter named all five of them. Thanks for having us!

Our group of 3 caravans stayed here for one night on our trip and had plenty of room. Ben was quick to respond to our messages and had even supplied fire wood for us. Was conveniently located close to highway noise was not a problem as the trees kept the noise from highway down. Would stay again if in the area.

1 night at Horizon Oasis

I really enjoyed staying at Horizon Oasis. The place is so beautiful. The campsites are big and open with loads of space. The view is magic and it is so peaceful. Clint is a fantastic host. I had a tractor ride around the property including a walk down to the incredible swimming hole on the river. There's sites right up near the road (which has hardly any traffic, just a few locals) which suited me as I was just passing through so super easy to get in and out. And there is also a stunning spot further down the property. The property just has 4 or 5 sites too which mean you aren't parked in like sardines like some places. Clint is a lovely person, gave me great instructions on how to get there and was great to have a chat with while I was staying. The cows and chickens and Honey the dog all add to the pleasant vibe! If you want a nice little piece of paradise to stay near Grafton this is it.

Dodona was the most magical experience. We have just had a winter retreat and from the glorious maples in fiery red to the running creek singing in the night to the abundance of delicious fruit trees this stay was hands down the best we’ve had. Richard is a charming and knowledgeable host only too happy to accommodate anyone and anything. Could not be happier and we are always planning our next visit. We only spent one night here but had an amazing stay! Richard was the most welcoming and lovely host and let us use his washer, kitchen and invited us in to keep warm at his fire place. A gorgeous place and super friendly host. Highly recommend :)
