Blue Chair Farms

4 sites ¡ RVs5 acres ¡ Lost City, OK
Come. Enjoy. Our 5 acre homestead is located in NE Oklahoma's Green Country. Here, my husband and I enjoy our fairly quiet country life. Much of my time is spent in my small market garden or in our front yard under the one and only big beautiful oak tree. Less than half an hour north you'll find Salina's access to Lake Hudson. While heading half an hour south brings you to Tahlequah, where you'll find the Headquarters of the Cherokee Nation, NSU and you can spend the day floating the Illinois River.Ten minutes away In Peggs, you'll find Table 5 Restaurant which serves my husbands favorite chicken fried steak. Cowboys Convenient Store sells gas, burgers and so much more. Peggs also has a Dollar General for those forgotten items. We have 3 dogs and a 3-legged cat. We raise chickens and gather eggs while sustainably growing veggies in 2 one-hundred foot poly tunnels. As part of the market garden... plants, fresh produce, jams, salsa, and fresh or dried herbs are available for purchase when in season. I have fallen in love with an old building material called cob. Cob is clay, sand, and straw mixed together on a tarp with your feet. I've completed a few smaller builds and taught a few cob building classes. Now the work begins on a small cob building, called a palletable cobin, (fall of 2022) When cob-building is underway you're welcome to get your feet dirty and join in the fun. We have a mobile cob oven that can be moved to your campsite for cooking pizza, bread and more. Please bring your own firewood.Medical cannabis is allowed for valid card holders. Please be respectful of others and your surroundings.

Lisa Christiansen’s Childhood Home

3 sites ¡ Lodging2 acres ¡ Tahlequah, OK
A place carved out of history dating back over 200 years ago. This is where history welcomes you to the Cherokee culture. This land has been handed down for generations and has stayed in the family beginning on my mother’s side of the family, Mary Ann Groundhog, the fourth generation great granddaughter of Sequoyah on the “Dick” side of my family tree. My mother was heavily involved with AIM (American Indian movement). My dad was the last monolingual Cherokee. His name was Mack Vann, he was a man who loved culture and sharing it with visitors and handed down that passion to me. My hip camper site is named after my daddy, I am still a daddy‘s girl. The land originated before Sequoyah. who created the Cherokee syllabary. Sequoyah was my fifth generation great grandfather and I am very proud of my Cherokee heritage, I would love to share my culture, my tradition, and my passion with you. Learn more about this land: Come and experience the authenticity of Tahlequah, Indian country, Oklahoma where almost every resident is Cherokee, Native American, Nature at its most organic state; A place where deer run free, the sunset paints a new picture each evening with glorious colors of warmth and serenity.
