Description

Nestled among towering pines, this campground offers access to more than two miles of coastline, hiking and biking trails that wind up and along creek beds to stunning mountain and lake vistas, and the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion and surrounding grounds. In summertime, the park offers 120 campsites (and 10 group campsites), and 16 over the winter (making it one of the most unique parks in the area!) The sites are set back slightly from the water, meaning that a trip to the beach will include a meander through woods that are home to racoons, osprey, and bald eagles, to name a few. If you are itching for a taste of civilization, you can try your hand at tennis on the Hellman-Ehrman estate, which has a first-come, first-serve tennis court open during warm weather.

One of our favorite place to stay in Tahoe!! Shady roomy sites with pine needle coverings. Beware of local bears! Keep food stored at all times!!
