The treehouse is built on a 400 sq. ft. platform suspended about 5' off the ground. It is 11' x 11' (and 11' high ceiling) and is mostly all glass on 3 walls. Inside you will find a platform bed with a foam pad, a colorful rug, and a couple of cabinets so you can unpack and feel at home. You will need to bring sleeping bags or bedding. I have recently added 7 LED lights. They are white, and in the shape of hockey pucks. Battery powered, you touch them lightly to turn them off and on. There is a creek right outside the door with a hammock hanging over it. There is a deluxe 2 burner stove on the treehouse deck. There is a complete supply of kitchen necessities. There is a communal space on the property with a fire ring.

The vibe at Shasta View Treehouse
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Hands down my favorite hipcamp stay to date! The property is nestled into a huge meadow with a view of Mount Shasta from the treehouse AND the meadow. There's a huge wooden platform that's great for all sorts of activities and a picnic table there, too. The treehouse is clean, beautiful, as described, and it really is nestled into gigantic, moss-covered trees, so there's lots of shade. A hammock is hung over the creek, perfect for watching the light of the day change, for reading or napping. Spacious and clean composting toilet with lots of privacy and adorable bridges that take you over the creek and into the meadow. A solar shower is hung by the creek and there were beautiful flowers in small vases scattered about (as well as lots of wildflowers growing all over). ALSO - not to be missed - a beautiful pond/lake/reservoir a mile from the property. It's beautiful and comfortable (not freezing at all) to swim in. Families swim and float here. The property is pretty close to Shasta town with cute coffee shops, grocery stores, gas, etc. I'd recommend this place to everyone and hope to return myself. Gary was amazing.
We loved our stay, but we had trouble getting to the place.
When you think you're there and see a house and a blue cabin on your left hand side, this is not the right one! Keep going through the forest, carefully, if you don't have 4WD. Two minutes later, the property will be on your left, you'll see cairns at the entrance. I had low cell phone reception with T-Mobile that allowed me to call Gary for help and that saved us.
Other than that, we loved how peaceful and relaxing it was. We appreciated the gas stove and the kitchenware, and drank water from the creek without any issue!
Don't expect stunning views on the Mt Shasta from the treehouse though, you'll be surrounded by trees. But they are a short walk away. I'd go again with pleasure.
This may be the most amazing place I have ever stayed! Peace, solitude, and adventure...definitely feels isolated, in the best possible way. The camping kitchen was such a wonderful touch and the creek is everything my heart hoped it would be. Thanks for an incredible time!
The treehouse at Shastaview is an awesome stay! The treehouse is perched right next to a super refreshing ravine that flows through the property. It’s very clean and I was even able to make some coffee with it :) There is also a sun shower hung up on a tree that you can refill with the water to take a shower. Bright lime green moss covered trees surround the treehouse, there is table just outside the door made from a tree as well and even stairs made from a stump! The tree house has an air matrress, lanterns, a kettle and there’s a propane stove on the deck to cook on. Just in front of the treehouse is a big meadow with incredible views of Mt. Shasta which is only about a 30 minute drive to the base. There are lots of trails there to hike if you’re looking for a day trip! Town isn’t too far away either if you need supplies or want to explore the area.
We had a really comfortable stay at the Shasta View Treehouse! The cabin is really well constructed and maintained, equipped with a stove and full kitchenware. The hosts had also already blown up the air mattress for us, so all we had to do was bring in our sleeping bags! While you can't actually see Shasta from the cabin, make sure to venture out a short ways to the meadow for killer sunrises & sets over the epic volcanic mountain. My favorite part was being able to take a snooze on the hammock over the little creek – which you can drink from!
The directions were pretty much spot on, but I could imagine it would be hard to find the correct turn off in the dark, so try to get there before sundown. Also, only drive in the way you came! We tried to follow the road out the opposite direction when heading to Weed, but the road was blocked by some down trees. Thankfully we were able to back the 4-wheel drive truck out, but the road was admittedly pretty gnarly past the turn off for the cabin.
This treehouse was the best hip camp my wife and I have booked thus far! We loved every minute of being there! Its situated right in front of a creek that runs all the way down the site with a hammock hovering above it. The treehouse is tucked away, away from the entrance (about 100 yards up). Gary was major accommodating to helping us find this place considering we arrived at 3:00AM , the best host we've dealt with within hip camp and airbnb! Although it is pretty tough to find this little gem, Gary provides some in depth details on directions. He mentions the lefts and rights within miles so i suggests you clear your trip meter. The tree house overlooks a beautiful portion of Mt. Shasta and is well worth the voyage to get there! Happy camping y'all ! :)
This place was incredible! Even with a bit of a snow flurry on our last morning, the place provided a constant feeling of peace and serenity. The surrounding meadows were gorgeous, the space itself is simple, clean, and comfortable, and the fire pit/picnic table deck were perfect for lounging in the sun (even if we didn't get much of that while we were there). I would love to return when the weather was slightly warmer, because there was a beautiful hammock hanging over the stream and some ponds nearby that seemed magical.
Also, the stream running healthily was one of the best parts of the stay! So soothing :)
