A pretty basic campground, but also not as crowded as Paradise and other nearby grounds. Plus there's great river access!

My beau and I wanted to go for a weekend getaway a few weeks back, and seeing as Los Prietos campground was one of the few in Southern California that wasn't completely booked, we snagged ourselves a spot. Despite the dry California conditions, the place was amply shaded with Oaks and proved to be a peaceful respite, away from major highways and zooming cars. The layout is slightly sloping, but each site has *plenty* of room to find a flat area and pitch your tent, leaving lots of space to spare (No late night neighborly eavesdropping here!). During hot indian summer days, the best way to spend time would be to plop yourself into one of the several nearby swimming holes, provided by what's left of the Cachuma River. Worth checking out!

Check out Falls and Red Rock swimming holes...it's oh so nice on those hot summer days
