Right on the AT, so when we were hiking from rockfish gap up to big meadows, this was a welcome rest. We had a hiker down with heat stroke, so really loved having running water and bear boxes to make our lives easier for a night. Nothing crazy about this campground, but do take the bear precautions seriously. We saw deer, 3 bears, and lots of birds our one night there.

Hipcamper Dan

After a very short walk west of the campground there are incredible sunset views of the blue ridge mountains. The Appalachian trail goes right past the campground and a camp store with a shower is available.

Hipcamper Jenn

Beautiful campground if you can get a spot near the cliffs.
