Description

Just 13 miles from Ely, Minnesota, you’ll find the lovely Birch Lake Campground. Oh, and to make things even better, it’s also close to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. There’s a main, developed camping area covered in aspen and birch trees, along with 15 backcountry camping sites along the lake. Since there aren’t any limits for horsepower on Birch Lake, bring the motorboat on over and spend the day power boating around and around and around. If you don’t exactly have the need for speed you can also rent canoes from the campground (give ‘em a day’s notice.) When you’re hungry, try casting your line into the waters. And, during the summer and early fall, there’s plenty of berries ripe for the picking.
