Hey hikers, looking for a place to camp near expansive and diverse hiking trails? Try Kilen Woods State Park Campground. First thing you should do after you lace up your hiking boots is head out on the woodland trail, past the cascading Des Moines River, and up to the Dinosaur Ridge overlook for great views of the river valley. Bring your camera to capture the creeks, oak savannas, and prairie grasslands of the trails. You can also set off in your canoe or cast a line to do some fishin’ in the streams.

Nice campground and great showers but the trails are not too well maintained. It was also extremely windy.
