The farm road back to the site was primitive, so we were glad we had a car that cleared the ruts. Our host was very gracious and helped us set up the tent in a pasture of wildflowers. The next morning, we were greeted by a pair of Nigerian Dwarf goats who "worked for peanuts". All in all, a lovely spot.

Breakfast in the morning light. We have arrived.
Got the fire going. Looks good!

Pulling up we were greeted by Ashley and given directions to the back. Our host showed true concern that our needs and expectations were met. It was an amazing site with a wood line to our back and an open field of wild flowers in front. There were a pair of chairs a table and a “ Welcome Bucket” with items we may have forgotten. Lighter, trash bags and even a s’mores kit. Also a note book welcoming us to her farm. The site was well kept with plenty of space mowed down. The leaves were at their peak and we had stunning views of the beautiful fall colors. I would highly recommended Howling Goat Farm for any of your primitive, ie no hook ups, camping. We look forward to returning when back in the area.

What a wonderful camping spot! A private oasis complete with pristine views of the night sky and s-mores. The hosts are great and provided us with a welcome bucket filled with camping essentials and a 6 gallon jug for water. Definitely worth a trip. Can't wait to visit again!

What a wonderful first camping experience using Hipcamp! My family wanted to try out tent camping so we found Howling Goat Farm, in Maine. When we arrived we were happily greeted by Ashley and given all the information we needed. We decided to explore the wooded area and decided to set up camp! Ashley was a lot of help for us first time campers! We also brought our dog along for the trip, she fit right in with the group! We especially liked the fact that we were able to have a meet and greet to know that she was compatible with the animals at the campground. There was plenty of wood available for our campfire and if you can’t find any you are able to buy some! My kids enjoyed the “welcome basket” that was provided to us. We all look forward to returning again in the future and will have no problem recommending “Howling Goat Farm” to anyone!

A great experience. I arrived later than expected but was still met with kindness. Ashley showed me to the area where I could camp and was available for any questions. In the morning, I had the pleasure of feeding the animals!

Beautiful weather, beautiful property. We wanted a secluded (of the beaten path) experience and while it was a convenient location and perfect directions, the privacy made us feel like we were on our own planet. I couldn’t recommend it enough 😁

They had a welcome bucket with commonly forgotten items like hand sanitizer, tp, lighter, etc. which came in super handy since I always forget my hand sanitizer 🤦‍♂️

Early morning farm life happens with goats milked, eggs collected, and animals fed and let out on a beautiful 20 acres of woods to explore.

Easy access to local hiking, beaches, and Moosehead.

But my favorite part was the one of a kind sign at the front of the drive upon entering. Thanks for a great midweek escape 👍👍

Sunset as we get ready to relax for the night

From the beginning it was super nice. We drove up and Ashley greeted my friends and I. Showed us where we could park and where everything was . She was very helpful and nice. We just wanted a place to hang out and camp under the stars. The place was clean and kept up with. There was another couple there that was camping as well and it was spacious enough where we saw them across the field but barely noticed they were there. Overall a very nice place and we will definitely be back!!

We just spent an amazing 3 days camping at Howling Goat Farm. Ashley was an amazing host providing a warm welcome upon our arrival and gave us a plenty of options on where to set up our site. We first camped in the field and later move our site to the woods. Ashley very generously cleared a spot for us.
During the day you can hear some cars from the road, but at night things are very quiet. If you camp in the woods know there are mosquitoes at night. Come prepared.
That said, our stay couldn’t have been better! The farm is central located with short drives to both Moosehead Lake and all the splendor of the Maine coast. The farm is also close to town where You can grab supplies if the need come up. The farm also has a stand on the weekends were you can get soaps and bake goods.
