Where Forest meets the Farm. The North Fork Ranch began as a 100 year old homestead Apple Orchard and Turkey Ranch. The ranch surrounded by the Los padres forest is now a diversified farming ranch including cider apples, hops, cattle, babydoll sheep, chickens, dogs and a vineyard. We are at 5500 ft so we get the luxury of seasons and wildlife. The ranch includes a bunkhouse and dry land camping areas. There are hiking trails, seasonal hunting, ohv and motorcycle trails. Bring the horses and explore the mountains.. Escape to Lockwood Valley at the edge of the Los Padres National Forest, where quiet trails, towering pines, and some of Southern California’s darkest night skies create a true mountain retreat. Located just minutes from the alpine village of Pine Mountain Club, this peaceful forest setting offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. Guests can hike secluded trails, watch wildlife, enjoy crisp mountain air, and stargaze beneath clear, star-filled skies rarely seen near Los Angeles. Despite its peaceful setting, the property is within easy driving distance of Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, and Bakersfield, making it an ideal getaway for a weekend in the mountains. At the end of a long, beautiful road into the mountains of Frasier Park! Next-door, an abandoned Boy Scouts property with hiking trails! And a seasonal stream flowing through! You turn in and off the main entrance you see your 5 foot tall fence the completely surrounds a small, tiny yellow colored cottage. Inside the fence, a private space, completely private, little messy, but forgiven because of the level of comfort the fire pit and Cottage gave me 😬🔥 inside, a magical world of relaxation and comfort! Rustic, but with everything you need! And the most comfortable bed and pillow pillows ever! Even the blankets were cushy and snuggly! The set up makes relaxation easy. And the kitchen has everything you need! And they even have food you can order! Love that! Took bread, farm fresh eggs, and a dozen monster size chocolate chip cookies home with me! They were delicious! It’s a chill spot. I wouldn’t stay here more than two nights with a young family. As for me, I was on a solo getaway to disconnect, unwind and reconnect with myself in the moment. This place was absolutely perfect for it! Also, you can walk around the farm and there’s so much beauty to it. So much cool stuff they’ve added, and then there’s animals! And don’t forget the surrounding mountains and the beautiful sunset 🥰

Private and a great shower

I stayed in this cozy, self‑contained space for a few days of rest and writing. The privacy was excellent, and support was always just a moment away whenever I needed it. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. Although the fridge was small for a longer stay, that’s a minor issue—I’ll be better prepared next time. This getaway spot is truly worth it. From the front door, I walked to the trailhead and hiked a gentle 2.5‑mile ascent alongside a snowmelt creek. The effort was rewarded with an amazing view of the valley I’d just walked up. Will utilize again and try the food on offer next time.

Such a fun stay! The bunkhouse was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The hosts are very kind and. A great spot as long as you don’t mind a faint background of poultry noises. Would definitely come back!

What a wonderful cozy cabin this is! I stayed here on the way down to south Cali and it was a great remote stopover not too far from the main highway. Beautiful stars at night, responsive thoughtful host, lots of amenities in the cabin, super cozy bed. 10/10 for me:)

Unique and beautiful experience

This place was just what we were looking for. A quiet getaway in a beautiful setting. There is a farm and our toddler loved seeing the goats, chickens and donkey. We were shown great hospitality from the host and made us feel at home. Great hikes right outside the door! We were even able to purchase some meat and eggs from the farm! A unique experience all around, would highly recommend!

Everything about our stay was absolutely lovely. The home itself is warm and inviting with everything I needed to cook there and enjoy a nice weekend away. It’s also surrounded by a private fence so it made us feel even more disconnected from the world, making our trip that much more relaxing. Definitely a place worth staying over and over again. The bed was super comfortable and there was almost no outside noise to disturb us but the best part had to be the stargazing. The view of the night time sky was breathtaking. This has been my favorite place to stay.
