An agrarian dream- a literal field of possibility. With 18 acres to choose from you may find yourself sleeping along the lazy Fifteenmile Creek, atop a hill under Virginia stars, or even set up with pastoral views of hens and Great Pyrenees dogs.
The roadfront side of our property offers level terrain for pull-behind trailers, while vehicles (preferably 4WD) and tent campers can travel all the way back to the creek. Feeling froggy? Ford the stream and camp in the large field on the other side. Be sure to mind the animals and fields, as this is a working farm.
One mile down the road from the farm is the Virginia Creeper Trail, renowned for biking, but as a multi-use trail, you can also enjoy walking, running, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, and geocaching.
South Holston Lake is only minutes away by vehicle, with two public access boating ramps 10 to 20 minutes away.
For a drink by the water, head to Abingdon Vineyards- only 10 minutes away.
Access to the Appalachian Trail is only 20 minutes away in Damascus.
We became caretakers of this lovely property in June of 2021, moving from our existing farm, 45 minutes away. When we got it, it was a blank slate of a hayfield, and we have spent the summer laying infrastructure so that we may grow our cut-flower, honey, and vegetable business.
Daisy's farm offers a charming and welcoming camping experience, often highlighted by the presence of friendly animals like cats, dogs, and chickens. Campers appreciate the serene setting by the creek and the convenience of amenities such as bathrooms and power hookups. Many visitors have fond memories of the farm's warm hospitality and scenic views, making it a favorite stop for those exploring the Virginia Creeper Trail. A few reviews note minor location challenges, but these don't overshadow the overall positive experience.
Second time camping at Daisy’s farm was just as great as the first! Will be back in the future! The glamper was perfect for the rainy nights. Beautiful property!
We enjoyed a perfect 2 day stay at this gentle and peaceful farm. Being 1 mile from a trail head for the VA Creeper Trail, was why we chose it The welcome by lots of kitties, chickens and the Gentle giant dog made us feel right at home. While we explored down the hill towards the creek, we found and took advantage of the special place with chairs available. Also, the access to a very nice bathroom was a bonus on top of having power and water hookups at our site. Nicest folks you could ask for! I thank them all and wish them all the best.
Absolutely wonderful place to camp. We were the only ones there and had the whole field to ourselves. Know that the best camping spots are at the back of the farm. Loved the kitties too!!
Wonderful stay! Loved the farm. We had a cat follow us and in the morning the chickens came to say hi when we took a walk. Would definitely stay again.
Ginny was awesome. Very kind and helpful. Loved Percy the Great Pyrenees. I bought a sticker with his picture that’s now on my camper. There were lots of beautiful chickens and quite a few cats. Everyone gets along together. Close proximity to Damascus and Abingdon. Will stay here again in the future.
My husband and I use Hip Camp for a majority of our stays. We especially liked this site for our RV because of easy access, flat gravel and close to the beautiful Creeper Trail.. although we did not get a chance to use it as it was unseasonably cold :( We were greeted by the host ..a large white Great Pyrenee, a family of kitties and brood of chickens ..all very friendly. You may hear coyotes at night pass through the property. We weren't sure how we were going to back out the next morning as the gravel turns to dirt and up a small incline, but thankfully the next day a gentleman came out and told us we could just pull thru on the grass. This was very helpful and appreciated. When we can return to bike the trail, we will would stay here again
Unfortunately, I had to cancel at the last minute due to an illness. Thankfully, Daisy was incredibly gracious and immediately refunded my payment. She didn't have to do that. I will definitely be booking with Daisy in the future so we can experience camping on the farm.
We loved camping on Daisy's land! Daisy was so kind and flexible with us and the farm is adorable. Our favorite part was getting to meet two of the friendliest cats around. Would recommend!
I was able to park my van next to the facility with the bathroom, which was great! I loved the dog, cats, and chickens greeting me in the morning! Great overnight stay.
Our first night on our long roadtrip couldn’t have been better! We were greeted by the aforementioned very friendly animals, we sat by the beautiful stream over the hill, we picked a few tulips for the road and bought farm-fresh eggs! Our night was quiet, even on the gravel site near the road. We have a 28’
travel trailer and wouldn’t want anything much longer to go up the hill to turn around. Daisy’s farm is a neat spot!!
We were thankful that Daisy could let us stay on last minute notice. It was close to dark when we arrived but it was so pleasant to wake up in the am to see the farm. We didn’t get a chance to explore but we enjoyed our stay
lovely little “glamp” site, with the sweetest animals - the kitties and a big ‘ol pup greeted us on our way in/out. lots of blankets provided for extra warmth in the cold, which was greatly appreciated! would certainly stay here again
We enjoyed the ease of camping just off the road and visiting with all the animals in the morning. A sweet big dog, 3 kitties , and a flock of chickens walked around the farm with me and begged for pats and snacks. Loved watching the Blue Jay go after the spent sunflower and would love to stay here again when the gardens are in bloom. Level ground for our camper and conveniently close to Virginia Creeper trail. Highly recommend!
Cute little farm and a good spot for a night of rest. Be mindful to check the fire number before pulling in. I went up the neighbor’s driveway first by accident. Their guardian dog came by in the middle of the night to protect us from something it noticed in the hills.
Great location, bathrooms and water easily accessible by walking up the hill. all but one campsite is in the meadow. I was able to get the one very private spot in the woods next to the creek. Listened to babbling water all night long. What a treat!!
Daisy is a phenomenal host, and let us camp our teardrop trailer right where we had the best view of the horses next door. It's a beautiful farm, with very low light polution, so you can see the stars at night. My phone got a great picture of the Milky Way. Stormbrew Farm is just up the road from the Virginia Creeper, four miles south of Abingdon, at the Watauga trailhead. Had a great visit, definitely staying at Daisy's place again next year!
Great location and super easy directions to get there!!! Such a great spot if you don’t want to set up a tent too! Great host and we would definitely stay here again!
Unfortunately confusion when we arrived. We parked on the neighbours property by mistake. So sorry. A quiet night after and exhausting day finding our way past fallen trees.
It was very unfortunate that Hurricane Helene had a devastating impact on the area. I was unable to stay at the location due to the storm, but communication with Daisy was fantastic and I look forward to staying on the farm next time I plan to visit.
My wife and I loved glamping on Daisy’s land! We played in the creek, took pictures, and enjoyed all the animals! The moon and stars were particularly beautiful! Worth the stay!
