It was great, found a spot under some trees and it was cool temperatures. The view of the mountain is so nice to look at. Also access to this place was pretty good, 4x4 recommended!
Not dog friendly as they have these plants that get in the dog's fur/skin, my dog was mildly bleeding, so we kept him in the tent.

Huge open field with amazing views into Zion. It’s a little rough getting through the property to find a campsite with the dirt paths being rutted out. If you want to find a good spot and maybe have a tree nearby you should arrive early.

Excellent scenery!! Nice open space, plenty of campsites to choose from. We have a 30ft 5th wheel so we chose a location somewhat close to the gate, due to the ruts in the dirt road. Enjoyed sitting by the campfire watching the cows graze in the open field near us and a beautiful view of the mountains. Great photo ops. Thank you.

The views were stupendous, but the gnats were a real problem. Also, the toilets were close to being full and had a lot of flies. The best thing about this camping spot was the ease of finding it.

This place was beautiful! I'm glad I came. However, the out house was full and didn't have any toilet paper. I had the few odd napkins from my car. If you bring your dogs, there isn't any grass, it is all dried foxtails. We have them everywhere still! There were no fires, but we couldn't even use our blackstone. We ate sandwiches. Thankfully it was just one night. Everyone scared us about the road there. It wasn't a big deal! We have an Outback 3.6. and we pulled a small trailer.

The views can’t be beat and it’s dispersed camping with a “laidback vibe”. However, that being said, it may have been a little too laidback for my taste. There is no host or quiet hours. A group around the bend from us was blasting Nickelback and scream-singing for hours. We moved to a different part of the campground bc of that. The porta potties were no better than pit toilets- full, dirty, no tp or hand sanitizer so be sure to bring your own. Bring bug spray- we were swarmed by biting gnats most of the time we were there.

Wide open area for camping! There are several campfire rock circles that you can build a campfire at and be perfectly fine. Has some amazing views of the Kolob Canyons which is nice.

Great view, lots of spots, and close to the park. However it should be know that the site has limited cell service and lots of bugs. That being said we had a great time and it didn’t make a difference at all!

I very wonderful campground! The roads can be tricky but just go slow and don’t drive in the holes. I would definitely come back here and recommend this place for friends and family. Lots of open space, INSANE views, and a great location being close to the park.

Practically in the park. Plenty of dispersed campsites during our visit in mid-May. We enjoyed our stay at Bill's place very much. Easy drive to the valley. And just off Kolob Terrace Road, the route into Zion's Kolob Plateau backcountry.

This was such an amazing campsite!! highly recommend! It was very dispersed - we did not have anyone around us within probably ~100 yards. The campsite is basically within a giant open cow pasture so there were some cute cows kind of near our tent in the morning (not enough to smell or anything though!). It was extremely peaceful and we could have fires which was really nice because other people camping in/around Zion were not able to due to fire restrictions in other areas. The road is rather steep and bumpy, especially once you enter the ranch area itself, but it was totally doable in an SUV (even without 4WD). Views were absolutely stunning in the evenings and early morning and we were only ~30 mins away from Zion NP entrance. This was a hidden gem and if we are ever in the Zion area again will definitely be back!

The drive up to the ranch is beautiful. Just make sure you have a 4wd car! When you get there, it’s a big open field with multiple spots that you can choose from to set up camp, all with amazing views of the back side of Zion because you’re up on a mesa. There are a couple of porta-potties so you don’t have to find somewhere else to go. Cute cows in the field! Will totally stay here again next time I come back to Utah!

Had a great time, its wide open and easy to find a campground! This review is a yes overall but I have it as a maybe for depending on your vehicle. If you have any good shock system and are off the ground a good couple feet, the road wont be so bad.
I drive a Corolla, my car is low to the ground, I had to drive super super safe and pray i didnt smash the rocky hard mud path that is raised in alot of areas while at the same time being tire wheels low in others but 6-12 inches. Its hard to explain but its truly an off road path.
I made it work until the final time I was leaving, i didnt angle my car right and my front bumper hit the path hard and it got damaged a bit.
Outside that small sad part, its a great camping spot, amazing views, and I booked this 2 days before Memorial Weekend started and they had capacity, so its an awesome area available when you need a camp site.
Its only 30ish minutes from the main Zion gate, so its super convenient as well.
Its only porta potties, no electricity or wash rooms, so keep that in mind.

Zion Wright Family Ranch-ecocamping
We loved the place - open horizons, views of red cliffs and cow bells in the distance. Having gone to Zion as well, it was lovely to be still and quiet with no people in hearing distance. We went up in a 2WD camper van and didn't have any problems making it up the road or to a site - just take it slow.
For the astrophotographers, we caught some light from Vegas so it wasn't quite as dark as hoped for but for those of us coming from urban areas it was great anyway - the darker skies and wider horizons made for some fine views of the night skies.

This is our second time camping at the Wright family ranch and I have nothing but wonderful things to say! The views are outstanding, it feels like true camping that is close to town. I don’t think you could ever beat this location for camping in Zion.

Oh my gosh the views are phenomenal and it’s quiet. Roads are a little rough and if it’s muddy you’ll want to think twice but I’ll definitely be back!

This site was great! We tent camped for two nights. Views were amazing and the site was comfortable. Be ready for a rocky unpaved road driving in, it wasn’t a problem for us but I can see that it could be difficult!

I got into the campsite later at night and had to take it slow on the dirt roads, but they weren’t bad. You can keep on driving past the first couple toilets that you see because there are additional toilets in different sections (I saw this in the morning) and there are so many places to choose from to set up camp. I made a cozy fire before bed and fell asleep to the unexpectedly melodic sound of occasional soft clanking cow bells or soft mooing as cows grazed randomly through the night. They act as though you aren’t even there. Ha!
When I woke up in the morning, it was such a gorgeous site reveal! I got some amazing pictures. You’re basically in the park, or right on the edge of it. I can’t want to come back and stay longer next time!

Fabulous! My favorite part was the lullaby of the cowbells. It was an ever present wind chime. I loved it. The scenery is fantastic. You can drive around and pick anywhere you want to camp. The road was dry when we were there. Yes it is rough so I suggest you have a little bit of dirt road experience under your belt. We did not have a four-wheel-drive and we did not have high clearance, but we made it because we have some experience.

Wow! We have stayed in a lot of camping spots and Hipcamps but I think this spot takes the top spot, the views of the canyon are insane! Such a large spot with heaps of camping spots so you don’t really see anyone! Would have loved to spend longer here!

We were very stressed after reading many reviews about getting to the location. A lot of the reviews were for camper vans and we were not that. However, we did our research and took our time and it was totally fine. Yes the last 2 miles are a dirt road with lots of bumps and zero guard rail. But if you take it slow and hug the side, you will be fine. I recommend looking up the google maps street view and following it all the way to the ranch because it gave my husband much more confidence to be able to actually see what to expect vs. the mixed reviews about the drive. He honestly did a great job and took it very slow with the bumps and turns. I can definitely see how if there is any rain, it would be probably impossible to make it in or out which made us very nervous to think about. But as long as you have some flexibility with your dates in case there is impending rain or if the weather is completely fine, which it was for us, it won’t be a problem. An even bigger class A made it in at night after us surprisingly (which I definitely don’t recommend as there are lots of firepits you can’t see at night and ruts in the road you should see to avoid). But it’s definitely doable! And once you make it, it la an amazing experience! Also, definitely bring enclosed water just in case. We filled our fresh water tank but I think we lost a lot of it on the drive up with the bumps because we ran out way sooner than we should have. But it was still a great camping experience!
