I become owner of this property in 2017. The cabins were built in the late 90's financed by the previous owner. The property was vacant for decades prior to that. In the 1950's, the property was a drive-in motel called the 'Harbert Motel'. We have an arial photo from this time period which showed a number of small bungalows for guests, each with its own carport. I love all the stories I hear from locals who have been around long enough to remember how things 'used to be'. Southwest Michigan has an interesting history and has been a 'destination' from city dwellers for close to 100 years. Even Al Capone and his goon's frequented the area as they moved illegal good during the days of prohibition. Learn more about this land: Breweries, Wineries, Berry Picking, Art Studios, Farmers Markets, hiking trails, biking trails, Lake Michigan boating, kayaking, fishing, canoeing.......all those things and more await you in Southwest Michigan. We have 6 'tiny house' style cabins on 1-acre property we call - Harbor Country Cabins. Harbor Country Cabins is located along the Lake Michigan Wine Trail. Our resort offers a unique lodging and gathering location in the center of Harbor Country, near Southwest Michigan’s premier destination for beaches, breweries, wineries, dining and summer fun. When we bought this property in 2013, it was a little run down. Many years ago, it housed sheep and cows. We revamped our little 15-acre farm and continue to improve its looks. Now it is our home and houses my riding stable. Many people have commented on how nice it is. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share its beauty and the animals with others. Learn more about this land: We have 3 spots to pitch a tent, but we're pretty flexible. If you see another area, please ask!. Site "Woods" is most secluded. We now have a cabin!! Our "Chalet". It will sleep 4 and has some great amenities. The others are around our grassy barnyard area where you're able to enjoy all of our different animals!. All sites are 2-5 mins from the main house. You will be staying on our horse farm. We have many chickens, bunnies, a potbelly pig, feeder pigs (depending on the time of year), and our 4 house dogs. We offer overnight equine amenities as well. There are 2 showering options and restroom available. You can enjoy a small fire (weather dependent) or listen to the crickets and frogs under the starry night. Actually, you can do it all. We offer trail rides on the horses as well, (extra charges). You can even book a trip to the state park to ride the horse trails, which is only 15 minutes away. There is a great fishing lake less than 1 mile from the farm, so bring your poles and kayaks. Or rent ours! There is a Dollar General, 2 gas stations, and a liquor store in our tiny little town if you forget anything. Walmart is 12 minutes North of us.

Hi! My name is Macy, and this is a project that my grandmother, father, brother, and I have been working on together. Our goal is to share our property with families who have children that love to ride. A quick story: When I was a kid, one of my dad’s best friends’ parents let us use about 20 acres of their farm and woods, where we set up a little campground. We had a small camper, tents, a fire pit, and a track out in the woods where we rode dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and side-by-sides. The best part was that we could keep our belongings and machines there during the week, so when the weekend came, all we had to do was show up and make memories with family and friends. To this day, we still talk about those times. With that in mind, we want to rent this cabin out to families so they can experience the same thing. We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you to simply show up and focus on creating memories. We hope that keeping things simple will allow for more time riding and enjoying the woods. We’re also located close to many attractions, which are listed in the cabin description. Since it’s private property, it’s a safe environment—even for beginner riders. The campground is ALWAYS full. The lots are all blacktop, it has been de-naturalised as far as Im concerned. There are some nice hiking trails but no way to ride a bike to the nearby town except a busy highway.

Indiana Dunes Campground

This is a great getaway for Chicagoans. I've been going here since I was a kid, and I've always loved it. They have nice shower facilities and a helpful little general store at the campground. The sites are just minutes away from Lake Michigan, so it's easy to go back and forth between the beach and the rest of the park's attractions (hello, beautiful trees!). I would definitely recommend this place as a weekend retreat for anyone in the Ill-iana area.

Indiana Dunes Campground

The BEST State Park in Indiana! The Indiana Dunes are beautiful. Some don't care for the mills nearby or the NIPSCO cooling tower to the East. If it weren't for conservation back in the day, the shoreline would be ALL steel mills & industry. The campground was redone & new bathhouses built within the last 10 years. It's really nice now. Get a peripheral site, away from the pit toilets & dumpsters. The sites on the West loop 14-22 & The East Loop 100-113. They're pretty tight, but are right up against the wooded dunes. The interior sites are not as nice. Stacked right on top of each other. There's great hiking. A nice visitor center. Of course the main attraction is Lake Michigan.
