Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch!

My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. This is my own little private horse ranch, pretty and clean, I live here and I am here working on premises every day. I do my best to make my guests comfortable and make sure they enjoy their stay. I prefer adult guests, however if your child is well behaved then I will make an exception. I have a clean indoor restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? You are safe here and so is your stuff. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome, no Pit Bulls please. No loud music please.
I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 10pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.
I will greet you personally and show you around. I close my gates at dark or once guests have arrived. Once you are here you may come and go as you please, I just ask that you shut the gates if you come in after dark. The gates will not be locked.
I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and coffee w/sugar and creamers available for your use. There is a fire pit at the outside green cabana, and free mesquite firewood. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys! All of my guests are my close friends coming for a visit!

Imagine pulling through the gate into Ranchito Paraiso - a desert paradise, seemingly remote, but just minutes from the town of Benson. First, you will feel calm and peaceful.
To the left, you will see an abundance of giant Mesquite trees and Kassandra - a lovingly renovated spacious RV nicknamed the Micro Mansion. Farther along, is the rustic elegance of Kasita Morada, the purple house. On your right, you will see the corrals for our sweet donkeys, Miss Fiona, Haiku, and Isla Preciosa, hanging out with their sidekick goats, Harley and Quinn.
We live in a ranching community, so neighbors are few (there is a KOA across the north side of our unpaved road). You will love the stars and the moon and the quiet here at the Ranchito. It is a wonderful getaway surrounded by mountain views. The sunsets are magical and sunrises provide beauty and hope. The Ranchito is an artsy retreat with quirky yet elegant accommodations and a wonderful space to breathe, create, write, binge on Netflix, or just take a break to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine and bird watch. The donkeys and goats love our guests, and will patiently stand by for a brush, a cuddle, and a compliment while you sip your favorite beverage.
You will be within 15 minutes to Kartchner caverns. Tombstone is 20 mins, whereas Bisbee, AZ vineyards and Tucson are about 40 mins away. The Ranchito is 3/4 mile north of I-10 and one mile from the Amtrak line that runs between LA and Texas. San Pedro golf course is a few hundred yards away, with delicious food and a dog-friendly patio.
Even though the grocery store is two miles away, you will feel remote. Elegant glamping is available in a lovingly renovated RV named Kassandra and a custom DIY tiny home (Kasita Morada). Guests find both units quite stunning and well-equipped.

Karla is a fantastic hostess and the property is absolutely beautiful! She has created a lovely little oasis with very thoughtful amenities. The fact that this is actually a ranch with horses and livestock, as well as a tiki-themed yard/pool/poolhouse is so much fun! Definitely unique in a very good way. Booking was simple and Karla's communication and kindness were flawless.

Karla's hummingbird house was sensational. The tiki lights at sunset surrounding the pool and inside the pool were dreamlike. The pool house was clean comfy and eclectic. Through kitchenette and bathroom area was nostalgic and like walking into the past and a past that is good. I will definitely be back!

This place has some quirks but the CHARM is overwhelming and I absolutely loved staying here!! Toni is amazing and so so sweet and accommodating. We needed a place to bring our small pack of rescue pups while visiting Tucson and this was perfect for us. We cannot wait to come back and would highly recommend booking with her when you are traveling through Tucson! And if you do - make sure to tell her Danielle sent you :)

We had a wonderful time staying in the pool house. There was a little heater that helped keep us toasty in the night and the the weather was glorious when the sun was out. The garage/kitchen bathroom area was nice to be able to use a fridge and wash hands.
Karla has a great setup and I enjoyed reading about her work and seeing her art and wood projects. So cool! We had some great conversations with the folks who were also staying around a bonfire. The outside was so nice that was so inviting to hang around and just be.
Would go again and recommend to others:)

What an amazing night we had at Karla’s. We stayed in the pool house and it was perfect. Karla’s attention to detail is outstanding. The pool was so clean and the garden and lights made the night magical. Everything was so clean and comfortable and Karla made sure we had everything we needed. The price was great for what was available. The shared kitchen was great and bathroom spotless. Clear to see that Karla puts so much love into this property and we feel lucky to have explored her beautiful land. Just the flowers alone would make us return. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The animals are so friendly, and the host goes out of her way to be accommodating and kind. My teenage boys loved the animals and looked forward to seeing them every day. My kids usually want to sleep in, but they were motivated to get up if I told them the animals were out! The house itself is really cute and comfortable, and the location is less than five minutes from the interstate.

Lake front camping was great! But beware you will be camping very close to other people. We camped at site 104 and had a lot of RV's to our left but on our right we had 4 adults, 6 kids and 2 dogs. We rented a canoe from the marina for $35 for 2 hours. It was nice to paddle around the lake and see everything. Afterwords we "hit the beach" as my kids say. The next day was the annual Mariachi band festival with food trucks and wine tasting. Every campsite was booked and we had a good time on this busy weekend at the park. We will be back to try the boat-in only campsites so we won't be as close to other people.

Didn’t spend the night here. Pretty crowded campgrounds. As a vanlifer, I visit state parks to shower and refill water as a way to support the park systems. So my review is limited to day use. The lake was pretty! Enjoyed some time on the water kayaking with my dog. Facilities were nice as were all the people working there. We went during February, and all the snowbirds seemed to make up the majority of campers as we chatted with people around the park.

When you reserve the island (highly recommend) check in at the dock and use the shuttle service to get your gear out there. $100 for shuttle but totally worth it.

For beginner campers, this is great place to start. Campsites are pretty close together and there are restrooms nearby. BBQ grills surround each campsite and if you're lucky, so are friendly, fellow campers. If you're not so lucky, annoying, loud ones, haha. Finding sites with appropriate shading can be tricky so get out early to snag one if you plan on staying for more than a night. I'd suggest bringing a tarp for shade just in case you don't. The water is nice and refreshing and if you know someone with a boat, water skiing is always a blast! I've gone fishing and have never had bad luck catching at least a little, ol' blue gill.

Patagonia is only "isolated" in it's Location. The campground itself is quite compacted with sites, some too close to the septic field! But the Big Draw here is the lake which is the biggest around & has boat rentals & dockage. Fishing is good here so the park is very popular. Best bets are the primitive boat-in only sites dotted along the lake.
