We are located just 7 miles from North Myrtle Beach on the Waccamaw River. We have a private 48 acre island with a 2 bedroom Treehouse and SURVIVOR Games plus our 14 acre Outpost that you can drive to with Glamping Tents and primitive campsites. We offer kayak rentals and guided tours, pontoon boat tours, Sunset S'mores with Owl Call and so much more.

Whether you choose to paddle down in a kayak or ride our pontoon shuttle to the private 48 acre island you will be captivated by the experience. Be sure to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night in this beautifully designed TREEHOUSE on an ISLAND surrounded by NATURE on the Waccamaw River just outside of North Myrtle Beach. The River Bend Treehouse is an off-the-grid accommodation located on a private 48 acre island on the Waccamaw River, we take you to the island on our pontoon boat (there is no road to the island). The Treehouse measures in at a whopping 1,000 square feet of indoor & outdoor covered space! The upper floor is 12 feet off the ground and features 400 sq ft living space that includes 2 bedrooms. As you walk out the front door you will be greeted by four rocking chairs on the deck between two massive trees (one oak & one pine) that the 200 sq ft deck is built around. Venture down the stairs to discover the 400 sq ft covered first level that includes a cooking area with a Blackstone griddle, propane burner stove, sink with a tank of water, cutting board, cooking utensils and a large picnic table. Leaving the lower deck you can explore the expansive river bank or step down into the bistro lit outdoor seating area with chairs, firepit and games. Nice little camping and adventure resort, loved the large and well-spaced primitive campsites, which have picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and trash cans. Glamping tents and a treehouse also available, and there are hot showers & clean bathrooms and potable water availablep. Great place for adults and kids alike, with lots of outdoor activities like fishing, boating, tubing, kayaking, and exploring the river island, and organized in-season activities, games, and entertainment. Outdoor kitchen, playground, and community firepit, equipment rental on site.

Blake, cheesecake (our Aussiedoodle), and I had the best time here! We played survivor in our 30s against some very early 20s and did amazing. Shout out to them for letting us join their game. We had so much fun. We kayaked. It was amazing. Thank you so much for letting us come we had the best time

Cool camp with kayaks, paddle boards, lawn games, a camper's kitchen with sink, refrigerator, and microwave, super clean separate room toilets with sinks, and showers, even baby goats and ducks. Seriously the place is great. The neighborhood coming in is not though. The night I stayed someone in that neighborhood was shooting off rounds of ammo after dark setting off all the dogs. Honestly there is nothing the camp can do about its neighbors but solo female campers might be hesitant.

The treehouse is very well thought out and if you’re a seasoned camper is pretty much luxury accommodation. We enjoyed 2 nights and wanted for nothing. We were also givin a kayak to use and ice for our time. A great place to escape with little distractions to unplug and unwind.

Riverbend Tree House
We had such a great time at this treehouse stay on Hipcamp! The whole experience felt like a little adventure—being out on the island was absolutely amazing and so peaceful. Jeff, the owner, was fantastic—super friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. The kids had an incredible time exploring, playing, and just enjoying being outdoors. It’s one of those trips they’re still talking about! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for something unique, relaxing, and fun for the whole family.

I am so excited that I found this hip camp. Not only is it one of the coolest hip camps I've ever been to...There is so much to do like kayaking. The very big and private wooded sites are so peaceful and extremely safe. The host Jeff is so kind and so helpful.I'm absolutely in love with this place. They have the coolest showers and little goats. My favorite part of my stay at this hip camp was the sound of owls at night. You can't beat the price in the myrtle beach area , and it is literally less than ten minutes to main street in north myrtlebeach. I will definitely be coming back to the hip camp

Great visit. There are lots of activities and thoughtful touches. Kayaking, fully equipped outdoor grilling area, kitchen area with complimentary coffee available, community fire pit. The woman who checked me in was informative and friendly. (sorry can’t remember her name) The tents on decks are sooo cute. The site where I stayed was perfect… Big open field for my dog. There are also more sites under the trees. I was only there over night. Would definitely return and spend more time.

Had a great time tent camping at River Island Adventure! My dog and I were greeted and shown to our site by Jeff and his staff. The toilets and showers are a nice option at the outpost. Looking forward to when paddle board weather comes back to visit again and take advantage of the river access!

Jeff’s place is a treasure. South Carolina is lucky to have it! The campsites are immaculate, their shared space is beautiful and so thoughtfully created; we enjoyed the showers and outdoor kitchen. On-site staff are a joy to be around and the landscape is zen paradise. Right by the river, tucked in the woods, 15 minutes from the beach; this is the place to be. We feel lucky to have experienced the magic!

Dude was very nice super sociable. Super laid back place. Chill fire spots and what not. Beautiful nature for the most part. Nice creeks. I just really liked the atmosphere and the fact that there were showers, toilets, microwave, multiple grills. A communal fridge. All of that made it super pleasant and felt very over the top friendly which I love. Great place. Nice people Would recommend.

1st time camping here and it was wonderful. Staff is extremely attentive and nice. Very laid back and unstressful which is really what your looking for on a weekend getaway to recharge from the day to day. The glamping tent we booked was extremely clean and comfortable overlooking the river making it very tranquil. If you bring children, the site has a myriad of events and activities to keep them busy and having fun. The whole facility is extremely well kept and a lot of thought and effort was put in to create the appropriate holiday theme of the season (we were there late Oct and it looked fabulous). We are definitely going to book another stay there especially with all the warm weather activities they have like kayaking and tubing. We might consider one of thier more excluded camping sites that they offer. Very much recommend checking it out whether old or young.

River Island Glamping Tents
Awesome place. Cherish and Jeff have a beautiful property and go over and above to make you comfortable. We are beach bums so we only kayaked 1x but it was great. We did the s'mores night at the island and met some great folks from Nebraska. We also talked to Jeff and learned how he is living his dream. Cherish and Liv were our guides that evening and made the paddle down and back so enjoyable. If you need to unplug and reset yourself do not hesitate to book a glamping tent here!

Really enjoyed the stay. Tent camping does put you a decent distance away from the main site - emergency bathroom trips aren’t really possible. The tent site did have a strong urine odor. Everything else was great.

River Island Glamping Tents
As a family we had a great time. The set up made life very easy and the staff were very helpful. Kids were kept busy with fun activities. Shared fridge space and ice was readily available. Provided grill area also (with sink station to clean up dishes etc after) shower area and bathrooms were excellent. The glamping tents were great. Spacious and beds were comfortable. As a family, we stayed on a newly constructed platform that had a tent for us and a separate tent for the kids (right beside each other) which the kids loved and so did we. We can’t wait to return!
