"Elysium Heritage Farm" is situated on 120 acres in Northeast, MI surrounded by woods, trails, ponds and canals. A few scattered campsites are available, making this a great place for private groups to rent the entire property or for individuals looking for a peaceful getaway.
Amenities include a flush toilet, an outdoor shower, a bathhouse, and a covered outdoor kitchen/pavilion for your use.
A washing machine and clothesline are also available. Whether you're looking for quiet seclusion or want to enjoy everything the property has to offer, we've got you covered.

Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 6 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana.
The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk.
Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor.
Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards, shops and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries.
There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes.
A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive.
We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay.
We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.
New this year is our chicken coop and run. We (Bill) has always wanted chickens.

This property was once part of an 80 acre farm. It has now grown into a mature forest with deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks, many types of songbirds and most recently a family of sandhill cranes. Our most recent improvement is an air conditioner in the Crow's Nest. Sheila grew up just across the road and spent many hours riding her horse and writing poetry on the property.
No discharge of firearms is allowed on this property.
As a retired artist, we love to entertain creative peaceful people and many think of our place as a quiet sanctuary that encourages creativity. We provide games, both outdoor and indoor, a screen house, hammock, nature trails and a new camp store with local items and snacks. There is an Amish community close by and a tour map is provided. We are also close to the largest canopy walk in the US at Whiting Forest and Dow Gardens. Only 25 minutes away. There is a small water park in the closest town with a beach. Locally there is tubing and canoeing at the Cedar River in Gladwin and kayaking at Pinconning Park on Saginaw Bay. Guests can explore many antique shops as well as Pinconna and Northwoods Outlet store. Many of our campers never leave the property but choose to relax and watch the life of the forest.
We provide linens, towels, and cookware. There is a grill outside and a microwave and oven inside along with a coffee maker and mini fridge.

The cabin has propane lighting, propane refrigerator, an antique stove with burner tops, and a free-standing propane gas stove for crisp evenings. There is a small kitchen area with a sleeping loft above and a sitting/family area at the far end of the cabin. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, coffee pot, dishes, and misc. utensils. *Please bring your own linens, pillows, and water.
On the backside of the cabin, you'll find a peaceful sitting area with a firepit. When nature calls, there is a well-built outhouse that is available. There is also a large outdoor shower with heated water and a dressing area. There are trails that meander through the property for those who enjoy walking, biking, snowmobiling, or four wheeling. You won't find a more peaceful, tranquil property to relax in and enjoy the wildlife. Only 1.3 miles into Manton with several bars and restaurants. Within 3 miles you are able to gain access to State property, the Manistee River, and Chase Creek.
From the trails in this area you can go as far as Houghton Lake and Fife Lake. Great area for hunting, fishing, four wheeling, dirt bikes, and hiking. This is a great getaway you don't want to miss out on!

We had a great stay at Sherwood Forest and would definitely come back. The campsite was well laid out, easy to access, and everything felt thoughtfully arranged (loved the flowers :)). The property itself is beautiful, and the view from the hill at sunset is worth taking the time to see.
It was quiet, peaceful, and we felt very safe throughout our stay, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy camping. Overall, this is a well-maintained, welcoming Hipcamp that we'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay near Traverse City.

We had an amazing stay at this campground during Barryton Days! The location couldn’t have been more convenient it made it so easy to enjoy all the festivities without worrying about driving to make an early morning softball game. The host was incredibly welcoming, friendly. You can tell he truly care about the guests and take pride in the campground.We had a great experience that we’re already looking forward to coming back next year. If you’re planning to visit Barryton or Barryton Days, we highly recommend staying at this spot.

What an incredible piece of Earth Elysium is!! Kim and Jeff have done an amazing job preserving the natural landscape to provide visitors with not just a beautiful farm to escape to, but also a fun and intimate experience. Kayaking the canal to the cabin in the woods was my favorite activity, followed closely by everything else! We loved exploring the grounds and encountering all of the residents...goats 1 thru 9 and the emus, Macaroni and Tuna Patty (names we gave them for the weekend), as well as the ducks and chickens and rabbits and the pigeons and the baby cats! I enjoyed talking to Kim and learning a little about how Elysium came to be. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of the world with us- we will be back!

We had such an amazing stay at Angel Dunes! If you’re looking for a quiet, rustic getaway, this is the perfect spot. We stayed in Creekside A which is incredibly private and secluded, with the creek flowing right through it, which made it so peaceful and relaxing. It had more than enough room for our tent and felt like our own little slice of nature.
The amenities were wonderful as well. The showers were clean, got nice and hot, and were surprisingly spacious. There was also a sink and a grill available, which made camping even more convenient.
One of our favorite parts was the beautiful trail that loops through the property. We walked it in the morning and were lucky enough to spot several deer, making the experience even more special.
Julie was an incredible host! She checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel so welcome.
We absolutely loved our time here and already can’t wait to come back. It was the perfect cozy escape, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to unplug and enjoy nature.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was incredibly private and peaceful—the perfect place to relax and unwind. Kim’s attention to detail was exceptional, and she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.
We purchased a rack of firewood, and it was an excellent value. We also spent time exploring the well-maintained trails throughout the property, which added even more to the experience.
We would definitely stay here again and look forward to spending even more time on this beautiful property. Highly recommended!

Sarah's place is absolutely MAGICAL! Whether you want to camp next to a roaring brook under a grove of cedars, or you prefer a more open spot right on the Muskegon River, she has it covered! My time was spent next to the creek perfectly nestled in the shade of the woods. EXACTLY what I needed to disconnect and reconnect with nature and myself. I will most assuredly be returning as Sarah has shared with me a camping spot I will never forget!

Stop looking! This is the property to book if you’re looking for gorgeous views, private sites, well maintained walking paths, easy access to a river, or an abundance of wildlife.
Jason was phenomenal to work with and his property was nothing short of spectacular! It had everything I was looking for to rest and relax. Don’t let the short walk to your site deter you. They are well worth it.
Even though I stayed at River’s Edge, I was able to see each site. Each of the outer sites and the cabin has a great view of the river. While the group site doesn’t have a clear view of the river, there is still access on the property. The site is stunning and perfect for group get togethers.
My dog and I definitely didn’t want to leave! We couldn’t say goodbye, we said until next time!

This is THE best place to camp. Quiet and peaceful enough to be able to watch/listen to the wildlife (deer, turkeys, coyotes, etc.) but enough to do to keep all members of the crew occupied (the pond, trails, putt-putt, etc.). Can't wait for my next trip!

I am so happy to have such a wonderful place to camp close to home. Only an hour away. Megan is so helpful and very happy to answer questions. We rented kayaks this stay. My daughter went with me. What a blast. Love our river floats. Bonfires amazing. I think what I love so much is that we have such a large area and private. So close to nature and birds. I think I’ve got a place forever 😊

This site was just what I needed - a place to pitch my tent without all of the frills and extra price. This hipcamp worked out great! It was outside of town, and not hard to find off of a main road. I did have some trouble locating my site at first, but Jackie was quick to meet me and make sure I had the right place. No firepit on my lot, which was okay for me. Water and restroom was a short walk away if I needed them. I shop a lot of my stays by the location and the price and this hipcamp hit the spot!

Dan and Bill’s land is beautiful! We had an excellent time and they are fantastic hosts. The place is quiet, serene, and close to town. Pictures truly don’t do this place justice. The RV is gorgeous and fully stocked, just bring clothes and food! We loved hanging on the deck to enjoy the sunset and hot tub. Our son had a wonderful time sleeping in the second loft and can’t stop talking about wanting to go back to the RV- including to see the chickens! Dan and Bill are the friendliest hosts I’ve ever met and we would love to go visit them again at HillCrest!

This was my second year coming to stay with Dan and Bill, and it did not disappoint! We stayed in the Lake View Avion trailer, which was just perfect. Dan and Bill are attentive hosts, and their property is full of beautiful wonder. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring around Traverse City. 10/10 recommend!
