Well water via hydrant, some drinking water upon request. Outhouse. Access to electricity, if you have an extension cord. Lots of campfire wood to collect, burn and take. The Milky Way on a clear night.

The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas. The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area. While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain. The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by.
The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass. Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site. But please release any others back into the pond. There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind. Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees.
Sleeping accommodations are in a deluxe water proof tent. There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people.
There is also a composting toilet on site.
Glamping Hosts provide some hot drink mixes, a coffee perculator, pot for boiling water, or making soup, a cooking grate for the fire, some hygiene products. We are working on a solar shower!
We are located 2 miles from the Kanopolis Lake wildlife and recreation area. Which includes numerous hiking trails at Horse Thief canyon. As well as 7 miles from historic Marquette with its unique downtown shops and activities: distillery, motorcycle museum, soda fountain shop/homemade ice cream, disc golf course, grocery store, bar and grill and liquor store. Also, located just 15 miles from Little Swedon, Lindsborg, KS. Great shopping and museums, art galleries for you enjoyment!

Weekend Trip to Hughes Holler
Gina is a fantastic host with a just as fantastic glamping experience! She made sure we were well taken care of and comfortable. This is definitely for someone who wants to have a more camp-like experience without having to bring your own tent or sleeping arrangements. Gina provided us with more than enough supplies for our stay and was on top of any requests we had. The lake on site was a beautiful addition to the scenery. I would 100% recommend this stay for any outdoors lovers or those who are looking to experience the outdoors.

Weekend Trip to Hughes Holler
This was an amazing stay!! The host was very accommodating, and responsive. The tent was beautifully set up with everything you could need. One fire pit at the camp site and one by the pond with ample fire wood piled up. I can’t say enough good things about our stay! We are traveling with 10 dogs and they loved the space to run and the pond to swim in.

This was my second day. Last year when I stayed, it was almost 100° and very hot! Since then the yurt has been relocated to a shady spot. And Gina also devised a low tech air-conditioning system where a cordless fan could blow cool air from ice. But it cooled off enough at night that I didn’t need to use it.
It was a short walk to the nearby bait shop to chat with the proprietors and have an ice cold soda. They also have snacks and there is an adjacent liquor store for those so inclined. I also had some fresh mulberries that were ripe immediately adjacent to the tent.

Great stay! Gina was quick to respond and set up camp for our last minute booking. She has thought of everything! The site was clean, grassy with plenty of shade. In addition to being super cute , the Yurt was well socked with ‘extras’ to ensure folks have what they need. Having the composting toilet was a bonus! There’s a nice fire ring at camp and another by the pond. Plenty of wood too. You can see and hear the road a bit, (if you’re looking for it) but it didn’t bother us at all. Highly recommend!

We love Hughes Holler! Gina is an awesome hostess and has the best setup!
We are seasoned campers so we packed along all the things, but if you aren’t or don’t want to spend the time, Gina has everything you need! Like she says, just bring a cooler and chairs and you are set!
The property is gorgeous! Sit and relax by the pond or down in the shady wooded area! Perfect place to spend time with your family. The location is great, feels secluded but it’s a very quick drive or even nice walk to the well stocked bait shop and liquor store for anything you forget or run out of.

We needed a place to spend the day enjoying the outdoors with family and Hughes Holler was perfect!
We spent the day kayaking, fishing and relaxing by a campfire. Gina was a great hostess and made sure we had everything we needed!
The property is beautiful and pond is great!
It was nice that it was close to the bait shop so we could grab a couple things we forgot.
We will definitely be back!

Gina's land was a clean, safe, quiet and relaxing place. I stayed at Gigi's Escape and it was so sweet!
There was an outdoor shower and toilet as well as a little fire pit which all worked out great. To have electricity you have to run a generator so I only started the generator in the morning to have coffee. It's very secluded and private. I saw a lot of deer in the evening.
The shelter is very well stocked with pretty much everything you might need!

Beverly is the sweetest! She's so easy-going and kind, and her space is a dream. I stayed in the Gypsy camper for a night while driving from Colorado to Illinois, and it was the perfect lil getaway. Beverly even let me feed her sheep and goats in the morning! This is the perfect spot if you're looking for good conversation and good vibes.

Actually stayed at the Marion County Lake but it wasn’t listed. It’s a nice quiet lake with residential housing around the lake. They also have a heated fishing dock.
