This 85 acre parcel sits just west of Nevada City, CA with the Deer Creek on our southern border and the Tribute Trail along the Newtown Canal on our northern border. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, It is a 10 minute drive to the quaint, historical gold rush town of Nevada City, and about 20-30 minutes by bicycle along the the Tribute Trail into town. Nevada City has great restaurants, bars, music and theater, as well as shopping and art galleries.
Or take a walk along the trail and down to the bridge that crosses the Deer Creek to a loop trail with lovely creek views and wooded scenery, about 1.5 hours there and back to the campground. The gorgeous South Fork of the Yuba River is a 15 - 30 minute drive away, depending on which access you choose. Great hiking, biking and swimming opportunities abound in the surrounding Sierra Nevada Foothills. The Bowman Road is about 1 + hour's drive East on Hwy 20 to Lake Spaulding, the smaller Fuller and Rucker lakes and Bowman Lake, as well as the Grouse Ridge hiking area.
We offer 4 tent platforms, as well as 4 RV parking sites. There are no hookups at this point, but there is a bathhouse with potable water, flush toilets and hot water shower .
Our home, property and hipcamp are off grid. We run everything from our solar panels and battery storage. Please be mindful and do not use high-consumption appliances such as hairdryers. thank you!

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. All of the proceeds from Hipcamp are used to support the animals. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 6 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them.

There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!
In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces once a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly.
We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants.
We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca.
NOTE: Starting around Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane.

The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

This property is a true off-grid experience. There is no power. If you need lights, please bring battery powered or solar powered lights or your own portable generator and power bank. There are solar lights at the tree-house and on the trail to the campsite. Being off-grid means that there will be dust, leaves, bugs & and dirt because those are all present in nature. We keep the treehouse clean, but this is in a forest. There will be maple-leaves and pine leaves that fall on the outside table at the Treehouse. This is a natural forest environment. We want the forest to do forest things.
On the property there are 3 hammocks setup in the shade of Maple trees. Sunset views and ripe blackberries this time of year add to the off-grid experience! There are also trails to around the property to explore. Amazing sunset views and cool quiet mornings provide a calming environment.
Come enjoy the healing peace and quiet of the forest. Breathe in the fresh air and treat your self to restful afternoons on the soft sandy beaches of the yuba river. Whether you’re here to unplug, celebrate, explore, or simply enjoy a quiet weekend in the woods, we know you’ll feel right at home.
Wild Family Homestead is an 11-acre, family-owned homestead that we’re building one project at a time. Our days are busy away from the homestead, but here on the property, life slows down. It’s peaceful, relaxed, and centered around enjoying the simple things—gardening, caring for the animals, and creating a place where guests can unwind and feel at ease.
Camping at The Bunkie is truly glamping. We have electricity at the site, but we use it minimally. A propane camping stove, candles, a gas BBQ, an oil lantern, and other essentials are included.
Up to five people can sleep in The Bunkie. Guest are more than welcome to set up additional tents in the camping area.
• One queen mattress in the upstairs loft, accessible by ladder only.
• One double pull-out egg-crate foam pad with sheets and blankets provided.
• One couch suitable for a child.
During your stay, we invite you to enjoy the taste of the homestead. Guests have the option to order seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit, and homemade baked goods, ready for you to enjoy during your stay and make your visit even more relaxing. Just message us for details or we will send them to you closer to your stay.

Welcome to Lazy Dog Ranch! We only have one Yurt/rental on the property, but it is not your average yurt; this is glamping at its best. Set on 3 pristine acres in an open meadow surrounded by pine and cedar, our Yurt offers incredible views with a serene peaceful setting. This is the only rental on the property, so it is super private. You have your own separate driveway, and the owner's home is on the other side of the land, ensuring a very private stay.
This is luxury yurting! The owner spared no expense in the buildout and furnishings. Every detail has been considered to make your stay unforgettable, including fast WiFi, well equipped kitchen & bath, high-end furniture and bedding, epic sunset patio views, great recommendations in town, and close proximity to the Yuba river (7 min drive to Edwards Xing) and all that Nevada City / Grass Valley has to offer.

Welcome to Sugarpine Slopes. The Sugarpine has the longest cones in the world and many birds and mammals like the pine nuts and use the tree for habitat. This is a spring through fall place only. There is no winter access. The property is at 5800 feet. Depending on the weather the road may close from Nov 15th to May 15th.
The road on the property is a dirt road. All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer
The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section. There is one walk-in site at the top of the property.
There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles.

The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years.
There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence.
The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north.
While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and
fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking
*The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV.
Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

The experience was so nice! The shower was such a godsend went we went home from camping. The bed in the tent was very comfortable. My girlfriend is new to camping and easing her way to camping with the tent, bed, and shower truly helped a lot. Overall a truly amazing camping experience+ a little extra experience!

30 ft travel trailer
I was looking for a getaway with a creek for our Springer Spaniel, Jack, to play in. It turned out we were the only campers that day. (The Nevada County Fair was going, and kids were back to school).
Jack was in heaven he had the creek all to himself.
It has a shallow areas and a deep area for swimming. The deep area was cold mid August. Burrrr.
The property is beautiful and our camp site was on green grass. Mike, the host, keeps the camp sites watered and green.
Our host, Mike, is a very good communicator. We used the site to chat and Mike replied quickly.
Once you turn off 49 be ready to make a left.
Thank you Mike for a relaxing weekend. We'll be back.

Weekend Trip to Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF
My partner and I had a wonderful time staying here for our weekend camping trip. Kelley was a fantastic host and I would 100% recommend staying here if you’re looking to camp in the Tahoe national forest area. Our cabin was clean, in perfect condition and Kelley was always there if we needed anything. You’re 45 minutes away from Tahoe lake and 15 minutes from the Emerald Pools. We’re excited to come back and I definitely recommend checking it out. 5/5

We loved this site! The location is fabulous with an 8 minute drive to the south Yuba River state park. The communal areas were super clean and we really appreciated all the amenities such as cooking supplies, toilet paper and soap!
Just an FYI, the river access at the site is beautiful and great to launch your paddle boards from, but it is not a swimming friendly location since the river is wide and fast moving at this entrance point.
Also, during the summer, it gets hot and the stargazing site has limited shade, so keep that in mind! Luckily, the communal areas are nicely shaded and you can jump in the river to cool off.
Overall a wonderful experience. Would book again!

Such an amazing experience here. Kirby and Juniper were extremely communicative and responded to all my questions promptly. The amenities were perfect, I forgot a few cooking utensils but it wasn’t a problem because they had everything. Truly felt like paradise, gorgeous seating areas, easy entryway to the river, and extremely clean bathrooms. Will definitely be coming back!

I’m not sure what I can say about Lazy Dog Ranch that hasn’t already been said. This was my first Hipcamp experience, so I read every review, and I can confirm, they're all true. The yurt was comfortable, private, and surprisingly well equipped. We cooked all of our meals there and had everything we needed, with the possible exception of a cheese grater, but no biggie, we made do. For a yurt, I was genuinely impressed by how much was provided. One small tip: it can get pretty bright inside in the morning, so light-sensitive sleepers may want to bring an eye mask. David was a wonderful host, and even went out of his way to return something I’d left behind. We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend it.

My wife and I loved staying at this site. I do agree with others that if you want more privacy you should get the other site too, but luckily no one was there for the two nights we were there. You can’t hear any cars, just planes here and there. Lots of noises at night but we didn’t have any problems with animals. The bathrooms were a great addition, when it gets a little windy the covers move and people may peek inside. We didn’t get in the water at this location but we did go to other places nearby. Overall would definitely come back.
