Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. All of the proceeds from Hipcamp are used to support the animals. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 6 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them.

There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!
In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces once a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly.
We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants.
We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca.
NOTE: Starting around Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane.

The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years.
There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence.
The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north.
While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and
fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking
*The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV.
Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

We are popular with the locals for a quiet and beautiful setting to capture gorgeous portraits. We are often visited by local artisans and musicians whose wares and stylings add to the vibe here at the farm.
If you love star gazing or night sky photography, you will definitely love it out here! Bring your tripod and enjoy capturing our beautiful night sky with very little light pollution.

Our bunk cabins are rustic with electricity, windows and locking doors, and each cabin has different bed accommodations. Please bring all of your own bedding and sleeping bags. Some of the cabins have heat/AC.
We have tent sites available with picnic tables and can accommodate dry-camping RVs. We are still working on installing RV hook-ups.
May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge.
The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family!
Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild!
The town of Greenville is located about 5 minutes from our property and offers a grocery store, Dollar General, gas station with mini mart, and wonderful food trucks. Grab the best quesadillas and drinks from the Way Baby or delicious coffee and breakfast from The Valley Grind.

This Peaceful offgrid treehouse and camp site are perfect for your quite mountain getaway, only 15 minute drive from the beautiful yuba river with its gorgeous swimming holes and crystal clear water Pardons crossing and Oregon Creek day use area are some of the best spots. 4 Wheel or AWD is REQUIRED. It is steep terrain to access the property. Its also near historic Nevada City and only 5 minutes to the Ananda Masters market which is a wonderful local health food store!
This property is a true off-grid experience. There is no power. If you need lights, please bring battery powered or solar powered lights or your own portable generator and power bank. There are solar lights at the tree-house and on the trail to the campsite. Being off-grid means that there will be dust, leaves, bugs & and dirt because those are all present in nature. We keep the treehouse clean, but this is in a forest. There will be maple-leaves and pine leaves that fall on the outside table at the Treehouse. This is a natural forest environment. We want the forest to do forest things.
On the property there are 3 hammocks setup in the shade of Maple trees. Sunset views and ripe blackberries this time of year add to the off-grid experience! There are also trails to around the property to explore. Amazing sunset views and cool quiet mornings provide a calming environment.
Come enjoy the healing peace and quiet of the forest. Breathe in the fresh air and treat your self to restful afternoons on the soft sandy beaches of the yuba river. Come relax in a hammock and watch the sunset or enjoy the view from the tree house porch while listening to the peaceful sounds of the forest.

Just 30 a minute drive to Nevada City and only 5 minutes to the local grocery store, this camp site futures a small meadow camping area surrounded by old fruit trees, and next to a seasonal pond, there is running water from a well. Come enjoy the beauty of the south yuba river and all the wonders the Sierra Nevada mountains have to offer, this is the perfect basecamp spot for all your mountain biking hiking and river adventures! A camp stove and two tables and two chairs plus small BBQ are provided. Plus a rock fire ring for campfires. There is also a kayak on the shore of the pond available for guests. Wild turkeys deer and duck freely travel through the property enjoy the nature beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills.

My dad bought the farm in 1979 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th then my stepdad Jan 18th Alot of loss but hopefully I can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests.

Our farm is 3 miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center and Maverick. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave. on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, goats beller and roam, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it smoothes out asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with bucket and bag inserted, there is cedar shavings to drop a handful when done. Solar lights outside and 1 inside. I plan to upgrade and have shower bag thats heated from sun. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5 and 1 are usable sadly.

Our dwellings are nestled away on our 10 acre ranch offering the ideal location for your next getaway to Nevada County. We are 10 min from downtown Grass Valley, 12 minutes from historic downtown Nevada City and only 15 min from the Yuba River!
While enjoying some decompression on our land, feel free to take a hot or cold bath outside by the sauna (great for stargazing at night) or even fire up the wood burning sauna for some relaxing and invigorating self care.
-Feel like going on a stroll? Feel free to wander down to our NID trail, where you can take a leisurely stroll on a path along the waterside.
The driveway to our spaces have a separate entrance so no worries about coming in too late or too early.
-Summer days can get very hot so be prepared by bringing an extra mister or take a dip in the Yuba only 15 min away. We do provide either a ceiling fan or a stand up fan to help keep cool.
-Enjoy sitting outside on the patio furniture. Take a nap or read a book on the hammock while you relax in a peaceful and serene environment.
-We also provide organic coffee, tea, sugar and honey. An outdoor table and a hammock will be waiting for you, too.
-Plenty of parking!
-Pets are allowed on the land, HOWEVER, only with our pre-approval!! So please let us know if you plan to bring a pet. We have sensitive animals on the land and we want to make sure your pup will be ok with our other little creatures.
-This is luxury GLAMPING, not a luxury hotel.

10/10 recommend! Such a cute property with cute dogs that are so friendly. Lots of animals to hangout with!! The tent is so spacious and comfy with the most comfortable and safe feeling bed! Loved this camp and will be back!! :)

The property is beautiful and we had a great time exploring the area (and the dogs loved swimming in Bear River, just up the road). Kelley was a wonderful, gracious host. 10 out of 10. I could blab on and on about how great this place is but who has the time to read it. Just see my photos. Okay, maybe I’ll blab a little bit. Tent camping with glamping bathrooms like these is a luxurious experience. You know when you find something so good you don’t want to leave a review? Because you don’t want it to become overrun or for the prices to go up? Well, I had that thought. “Maybe I won’t review this one.” But I realized that these folks are providing a quality experience and need to be rewarded for creating this place. Go here.

Weekend Trip to Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF
My wife and I visited this place to celebrate her birthday. Upon arrival Kelley received us very kindly and explained the whole place to us and we spent two nights in the pearl of the best. We had time to cook and visit the nearby places that Kelley recommended us to visit. We enjoyed swimming in Emerald pools and hiking on Spaulding Lake and Sierra Discovery Trail. I would definitely recommend this place to visit

This is a hidden gem! Quiet, small campground that is so close to Lassen National Park.
Mind the signs, which are clear, if you’re an RV or trailer and go into that loop that says “RV Camping” not the regular campground loop. Our bad but the Hip Camp host, Xavier, came to our rescue along with a kind guest. Xavier was a helpful and a great host!
It’s on secondary Highway 172, which doesn’t have much traffic. My suggestion is to take the less curvy route in. It adds a bit of distance but the curvy direction has some blind turns that I wouldn’t want to drive at night.
There was a nice variety of cabins, glamping tents and trailers if you don’t have your own equipment. Also had a convenient little shop on the property too.
If you don’t feel like cooking take a short drive to the Village at Highlands Ranch where you can eat at Frank’s or our favorite Highlands Ranch Resort.

Everything was so great! rented out the whole place with a group of friends and we loved it. i reccomend being prepared to drive to other river spots. the river is quite wide and cold when we went (late september).
i also suggest bringing some heavy weight trash bags. not sure if i would love sharing the space with other folks but that's just me.
they have done an amazing job with the property very communicative. i couldn't reccommend it enough!
