Rumor has it our house was built by the famed western actor Alan Ladd as a secret getaway back in the 50s. There’s 5 acres, partly shaded by old mesquite trees and native Washingtonia palms that tower over rock lined paths. I recently fixed up our old 1949 tear drop camper for staying in after it had been abandoned for 30 years. It’s equipped with solar power, a gas burner, a pump sink, and a cooler. This is a place for people that love old stuff! No marble countertops and stainless steel will be found. For lovers of the funky. There’s an outhouse, an outdoor shower, and a 9 foot deep swimming pool too. We’re situated between the San Andreas fault and the the Little San Bernardino Mountains, so spectacular hikes are a short walk away. After every golden sunset, the stars do not disappoint.

She is every bit original 1983 oak veneer nostalgia. Don't eat the glass grapes! Avion features a full kitchen and bath and sleeps 5. Further over is Dolly the vintage Dalton tin can style trailer. She has no hook ups but there are battery lights and a clean double bed. Set a while on the dirt porch in the shell back chairs and reflect on life. Shangri-La is family, pet, UFO, and kid friendly. Bring 'em all! You will need to self clean this little slice of heaven. There are supplies in the closet and the outbuildings. You'll BYO sheets and towels to make up the beds and bathe, remember to take everything you brought with you, put back the key, and haul out your own trash. The property is well outfitted with cooking supplies and a charcoal barbecue. Welcome! Welcome! Tell your friends! Shangri-La attracts amazing, awakened souls abundant with life force and joy.

My wife and I dated at Camp Squish on a short visit to an event in the area. It is a small encampment centered around a beautiful airstream trailer just far enough away from the host’s home. Inside the trailer is a thoughtfully designed space with the exact amount of guidance and comfort to make staying here effortless and fun. The night was quiet and perfect for stargazing and the hosts responsive and welcoming. We were lucky to find this place.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Retreat in Joshua Tree

Great little spot in the desert! We stayed there in October with a friend and had to do our little Babymoon there this weekend. We came well prepared this time with plenty of water, food to cook on the mini inverter cooktop, and plenty of snacks as this place is nice and remote. It has all the comforts you need, (comfy bed with fluffy pillows, nice large bathroom, kitchenette w full size fridge, AC/heating, a star-watching deck) just BYO water and food! Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back again!

This property is 100% as described- I went expecting less as usually places over-sell their features but not here! From stepping in the front door and being greeting with a beautifully designed space which also smells really good, to listening to the fabulous record collection, taking a bubble bath under stars, relaxing in the hot tub and having a private massage- the whole place just flows really well together and the attention to details is just perfect. It really is a perfect place to relax and be close to amenities and the entrance to the JT park. You won’t be disappointed.

A clean home, warm shower, and cozy bed in the middle of the Mojave is a perfect place for me! As stated, there is only one queen bed so remember your extra bedding for additional campers. Everything was as stated in the listing. It does require driving a bumpy dirt road for a few miles but I’m guessing if you’re already a Hipcamper, your car will fare just fine. Given the road condition, it was about 35 minutes to the West entrance of J. Tree. Had a blast and would gladly stay again should we find ourselves needing a Mojave fix.

Dayne and Kayla were extremely communicative. Immediately responding to each message and request. We loved that the kitchen and bathrooms felt more like a house and we only needed to go into our tent to sleep. It really makes it easier for people who generally don't like to camp. Really felt like glamping! We had a small lighting issue in the dining room and someone showed up immediately to have it fixed! The ax throwing was such a pleasant surprise and the kids loved running around the site. They also love running after the desert iguanas! Another plus is that it's so close to the heart rock in Joshua tree which is the portion in the park that is perfect for the kids. Will definitely be returning!

1 night at Mineral Spring Date Farm

We love this place. It is to inviting and peaceful. We used the tub and got cool off from the heat. Everything is clean . The restroom had all necessary things and also the shower. Will definitely stay here again

Weekend Trip to JT High desert Hideout

Janna is such a lovely and communicative host! The yurt was super cute with the twinkling lights, bed was comfortable, had a fan, lamp, towels, some plates/utensils, and wi-fi. The pool was clean and cool. The community fridge was perfect for storing stuff. The outdoor kitchen, shower, and porta-potty were all clean. We brought our chairs outside the fence to watch the sunset. Overall, it was the perfect hideaway and getaway! Unfortunately they’re selling the property soon so try to stay there while you can!

My boys were excited to stay in a teepee and I appreciate the bed inside and the toilet nearby. There were lots of sports stuff including a few disc golf holes and three discs we played with. Dog friendly was nice for our puppy’s first camping trip.

I loved that the site we stayed at had its own private hot spring (great for kids to play in), spaced out sites from neighbors, clean bathrooms, and friendly hosts.

Weekend Trip to Casa Cobalt Desert Trailer

I absolutely could not be more pleased with my 3 night stay in this cozy trailer. I originally booked 2 nights, but Chris told me I could come in very late Friday after work, and that already told me how hospitable he would be. Upon arrival everything was set up for me to enjoy cozy desert comfort. It was so cute and had all I needed to enjoy my rest when needing to balance play in JTNP. Chris checked in with me often, and turned the cool on for me on a hot day so I’d return to a nice chill trailer. There is a roadrunner nesting in a yucca that I got to see right from the porthole. I used the rear entrance on my stay and it worked out great. The bed was so cozy. Brought my own blankets and pillow but pillows were provided. I napped on the orange fold out and watched Netflix using my hotspot on breaks from playing outside. I got take out and kept in the fridge and then microwaved it. So didn’t need to cook any of my backpack meals at all. The vibe in the trailer and energy on the property are amazing. Such a wonderful experience with such gracious hosts. Already planning to come back in the Fall.
