There are about 8 buildings, 5 cabins that share the space and are within eye and earshot of each other but not too close. Each cabin has its own deck and seating with access to a fire pit and communal BBQ. This is the spot for adventurous people who would like a step up from tent camping. It offers all the creature comforts of home with nature and adventure, right outside your door. The cabins are spotless, cozy and updated with modern amenities. Nice linens and comfortable beds provided. Co-op full kitchen area for guest use.
An amazing place to unwind and have a bit of digital detox. The property is full of pines, Madrone and Oak trees. Nice horseshoe pit, hammock and decks to chill on. Woodpeckers, deer, squirrels and jack rabbits all in their daily surroundings.

Welcome to Lake Pillsbury Resort
Lake Pillsbury Resort is nestled in the Mendocino National Forest. Perched on the west side of beautiful Lake Pillsbury, the resort and marina are surrounded by towering pines, majestic mountains, and alluring waters. Along with cabins and campsites, the resort has a marina with docking facilities, boat and kayak rentals, a launch ramp, and the only fuel for sale on the lake. Memorial Day through Labor Day, all amenities are available, and for the remainder of the year, we offer limited services. Before and after the summer holidays, you will experience a peaceful forest setting while taking in a depth of natural wonders and the spectacular seasons. Come stay with us, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Lake Pillsbury Resort.
Cabins
The Resort features eight cabins nestled in oak trees looking over the lakefront. Seven of our cabins are roomy one or two-bed studio cabins, each with its own half bath, kitchen, and screened porch. We have our prized one-bedroom log cabin, bath with tub/shower, and sleeping loft. Additionally, there are two secluded cabins set back with views of Hull Mt., each with one king bed, a restroom, outdoor cooking facilities, and a porch. All cabins have access to coin-operated hot showers. We are a bring-your-own-bedding facility. All cabin guests need to bring their own linens and pillows, as there is no linen service in the area. Cabins are booked for weekly stays Saturday to Saturday from mid-June through mid-August. Nightly stays are available early season, late season, or if we have openings two weeks out from the arrival date during high season.
Campsites
Camping at its best! We offer 38 campsites plus 1 RV full hook-up (30amp) site, each with its own fire pit, table, and water. The campsites are nestled in a beautiful natural setting of oaks and pines, and are spread out all around the grounds with many lakefront and lake view sites. Some sit back with more privacy, but all sites offer easy access to the lake. RVs and trailers are welcome, and many sites are roomy enough to back right in. We follow the same weekly booking for most of our camps during high season, and do nightly early and late season. All camps are by reservation, so please call for availability.

Weekend Trip to Cosy cabin
The cozy cabin was super cozy! There were creative and quaint decorations and building designs. The view was beautiful and was truly peaceful to sit on the porch and enjoy the environment. There were some aspects that took some getting used to, but was totally worth it in the end. Julie was a wonderful host and was very responsive to any concerns.

The above snow pictures IS NOT BLACK BUTTE/BUCKHORN. There are no rock outcrops this proximal to campgrounds and that is not what the campgrounds look like. There is almost never snow, and once in ten years it snows it does not stick. Black Butte is a oak woodland/grassland area on a man made lake with very manicured and controlled campsites. In the winter, they close down to one little loop and then you are closed in by generators growling all night from RVs. They also do not close the campground gates at night so you are also subject to folks arriving at 2 am in the winter to that one little loop. Rangers like to pick on whom they think is vulnerable. The bigger and more expensive your rig, the less the rangers will bother you no matter.

Open year-round with flush toilets and hot showers. We camped here once in January and were the only ones here! They have a playground for the kids and it is a good place to ride bikes. You can't beat the scenery here or the price.

I've been here about 6 times and really miss going here. It's a great weekend getaway from Chico and it is cheap! It is easy to get reservations and there are 35 sites! It is only $20 per night and they have flush toilets, hot showers, and fish cleaning stations.
This is located at Black Butte Lake and managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. There are hiking trails, Black Butte Dam, and a full disc golf course nearby. It is fun to take a short hike to the lookout point and watch the sunset where you will find 2 benches. Across the lake the Buckhorn Campground is open year-round. It is a good place for RVs too.
Beware: there are rattlesnakes, raccoons, deer, and other wildlife.
