1 night at Arrowhead Campground

I loved car camping here! I had the place all to myself, but after walking around to all the sites, I would have picked site 3 for the most unobstructed view of the sunset and sunrise, but my site had great shade from the afternoon sun on the opposite side of the private picnic pavilion. Hosts were very nice and checked to make sure I was settled in and to offer water if I needed it. Did not use the potties as I had my own, but they are available. No other facilities, so come prepared. Beautiful 360 degree views of monuments.

This was an amazing stay. Ilene est very hospitable. Sunrise and sunset are magical. The cabin is simple, comfy, quiet. The bathroom reserved to guests is inside Ilene's house, easy to access (plus we have the keys to the house so we can access it during the night). Bonus: Ilene's hand-made jewelry and artwork is remarkable. We were very honored to be hosted on the reservation.

Spectacular view, we were in place number 3 overlooking monument valley. Starry sky at night. The only flaw was that not having electricity we didn't like turning on the generator to cook disturbing the neighbors. I would suggest providing at least electricity conncection so as not to disturb the neighbors with the generator. Jeremy was very kind in sending us directions to get there first

Weekend Trip to Page Covered Wagons

With a few places for simple improvement, overall this was a fun place to stay. I’ll start with the items that could use some improvement and then finish with the good stuff. The bunks are located right is the air flow of the ac, meaning the people in bunks were very cold while it was running. No top sheets were provided on the bunks, only a fitted sheet on the bed and a light waffle wave blanket on each. One bunk didn’t even had a pillowcase on the pillow which was icky to think about. We arrived after hours or I would have asked for more bedding. Some more sheets and extra blankets could solve the issues simply. The park was clean, quiet and one of the nicest I’ve staying in. It was a fabulous location and close to dining, horseshoe bend and antelope canyon. Would recommend.

It’s extraordinary to sleep under the stars gazing at Monument Valley. Sites are quiet and well spaced, toilets are very clean.

2 nights at Humming Bird Campsite

The campsite boasts stunning scenery and welcoming owners. Be cautious of scorpions when walking at night. Generators are not permitted after dark, so plan accordingly. My battery power source for my CPAP ran out on the second night, so bring a reliable backup. In midsummer, run the AC full blast before the generator shuts off to keep cool. Don’t miss the traditional Navajo dinner—highly recommend asking for it!

It was a wonderful sray at Ilenes place. There is everything you need, and the view on Monument valley is amazing. Ilene provides a very nice breakfast. Everything isceasy and friendly. I only can recommend the place!

About

For thousands of years, wind and water have shaped the canyon landscapes of Utah. This majestic stone bridge is the crown jewel. Carved into sandstone, this natural structure has held meaning for the Ancient Pueblo, Paiute, and Navajo Peoples for centuries. Today it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Pictures won't do it justice but take your camera along anyway (you won't regret it).

Utah’s nearby Kolob Arch and Landscape Arch give Rainbow a run for its money, but at 290 feet high, Rainbow is still the tallest. Reachable by boat or foot, this is one of the most accessible natural arches in the world. Boat tours and private boat launches take visitors across Lake Powell. Here you'll have to hike a short 1.5-miles to the observation area.

Intrepid backpackers can begin the journey on Navajo Mountain and make their way to the bridge through canyon country. Extensive hiking experience isn’t just recommended, it’s a necessity. The trails are not maintained and are subject to flash flooding, and the journey takes multiple days. Hikers must obtain a backpacking permit through the Navajo Nation. Please respect the archaeological sights, sweat lodges, and cairn markings along the trail.

Camping is not allowed here. Nearby Glen Canyon encompasses 1.25 million acres and offers plenty of Lake Powell camping spots for backpackers and glampers alike. If you do stay the night, don't miss the night sky. You won't be disappointed.
