Jim was a great host. He met us right away and was excited to share the surroundings. Our campsite was an excellent location. Shade trees for hammocks (he even had one hanging), table and a few chairs. Quick easy access to the lake. Our dogs had a fabulous time! We only caught a few bullheads but the lake has been low for about a year per Jim. Only 4-6 feet. He had a trolling motor in a paddle boat which our kids really liked driving around. Two kayaks available also. Saw lots of birds, geese, trumpeter swans, and turtles galore. He’s prompt to reply to messages as well as delivering firewood. He ensures a quiet night. He has a couple community toilets, toilet paper provided. We had hand sanitizer but always do when camping. He was fun to chat with. We’d definitely book with Jim again!! :-)

Plenty of room between camp sights. Jim is very accommodating as we showed up with my husband in a wheelchair and he gave us a better site.

My family had a great time camping on Jim's land! The views were beautiful and directions were clear. There were plenty of things to do. Jim is very considerate in making sure we had everything we needed.

Jim was super friendly and helpful. The spot we stayed at was absolutely perfect, our own little dock on the lake. Gorgeous sunset and stargazing was phenomenal.

This spot was AWESOME for tent camping!! We picked site 1 and it had it all. Views, privacy, easy beach and boat access, and plenty of peace and tranquility. Jim is a kind and generous host. 100/10 recommend this spot for anyone who looking for a weekend worth talking about!

We loved the property! The lake & sunsets are beautiful, the campsites are spread out & offer privacy. Jim is a very accommodating host who pays attention to the details & anticipates the needs of the campers. We can’t wait to go back!

Jim is extremely nice accommodating. It's a very quiet and private lake, and the facilties are well maintained. Even my dog felt comfortable enough to get in the water for the first time, and he has never been okay with being in the water before. I will definitely be coming back!

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute trip to stay at Jim's site 1 campsite. We arrived past 8pm and he was still there to greet us and direct us to our site. Super friendly and informative! We took his small boat out for sunset. He had other resources by our campground such as a kayak, float, life jackets, wood, etc. The stars are absolutely stunning. Just keep in mind if you're looking for absolute stillness and silence, campsite 1 is the closest to the highway. We didn't care much for the few cars and semis passing by but just something to keep in mind!

Jim is awesome! We really enjoyed the peaceful land right on a small lake next to a corn field. It's a little bit "roughing it" but there are hot showers and a flush toilet. He keeps it mowed nicely, and has fire rings and firewood available, plus has solar lights along the edges of the yard. We didn't use the lake, but he has kayaks, inner tube, life jackets, and paddle boat. The electric cord he provided was ample, giving us light, and power for the refrigerator and charging cords. If I were in the area again, I'd definitely see if Jim had space.

This was EXACTLY what we were looking for! It was hot, so we wanted to get out of the cities and camp by a lake. The campsite was perfect! It was far enough away from others for privacy, and it was 10 feet from the water. The sandy part of the beach was only about 100 feet away from our site, so we took our tubes out to lounge. AND Jim is super cool, he’s a very laid back and kind person. He drove down chairs and a table for us to use. I highly recommend visiting!

The space is so beautiful and Jim is such a kind and interesting human! We didn’t swim because recent flooding made the water a little sketchy. I was there alone with my daughter and it was peaceful and perfect. A larger group arrived later with party vibes - without asking Jim intervened and the music was turned down within a reasonable and respectful timeframe. Would 1000% recommend.

A moment of freedom with my friends

Jim is simply the Best!!! There was enough space for me and my friends could roam around and make a lot of noise. Site 4 has many entrances to the lake. There are farms & cornfields around the area which allows a simple but beautiful aesthetic. There was a motorboat available which me and my 5 friends enjoyed individually and all together. There were also available canoes. Plenty of firewood was available. Jim also provided fishing poles. The way the sunset places itself on the horizon of the lake is truly something to be experienced. There were also man-made grills to cook food. Jim was very kind and provided everything we needed than some. He is also a great conversationalist. Their were stores within a 20-minute drive. There's was also a camper to shower at with another outside shower and toilet. The only two downsides is the mosquitoes and the bottom of the lake feels weird. There are plenty of fish. Also the skyline at night was absolutely gorgeous. This is a slice of heaven and make no mistake about it. This private place provides peace and quiet. Me and my friends enjoyed some of the most gorgeous sky lines. I want to thank Jim for his outstanding hospitality and allowing us to experience this moment of freedom on his beautiful land.

Jim was very friendly and gave us a good lay of the land. Has a toilet- and an outdoor shower. He was also kind enough to provide electrical. Not a lake I would fish as it has active farms on it but there are Great Lakes close by. Beautiful spot I will say. Great boondocking Ish experience. Would stay again

Jim’s land is beautiful. Sites are well kept and they’re huge. Went on the 4th of July to escape the fireworks. There was one other campsite occupied but barely noticed them. Bring bug spray for sure. There’s a lot of flies, you’ll hear a big rig come down the main road every in awhile but no big deal. Looked for a dumpster on the way out to dump trash., I didn’t see one, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. I just forgot to inquire. Jim is a great dude, super welcoming. I will definitely be back.

This place was Amazing!!! It was beautiful, peaceful and private. The host met us and let us pick a site. There was one other Group camping at the same time But the sites were so private we hardly ever saw them! The use of the kayaks canoes and battery powered boat was a definite plus. We took some nice evening paddles around the Lake. The bathroom was clean and then good working condition. Shower was refreshing. I love the outdoor shower. We will definitely come back if we’re in the area again.!

Jim’s camp site and lake was exactly what we were looking for. It is peaceful, secluded and has the basic amenities one would want. An outdoor shower, toilet and plenty of firewood. The grill grate at each site is also handy for cooking meals.
The host is laid back and happy about life. He finds joy in sharing his property plus some of the hidden secrets there. Would stay again and likely will!

me and some girlfriends camped here for a week and WOW! The private lake was amazing for swimming and floating, and taking out the paddle boat and fishing boat that Jim provides. Jim was very laid back with us, he let us set up wherever and hooked up the power for us. it’s a super pretty place to stay and connect with nature, and Jim is the best! he was very laid back, relaxed, and beyond helpful! (not to mention his super cute pup that visited us most mornings). We left 2 days early and Jim even refunded some of the money, which was totally unnecessary but very much appreciated! Overall, amazing place to stay and an amazing host! we will be back!
