The site was very isolated on a hilltop near a treed fenceline. No mosquito activity and greeted in the morning by a multitude of songbirds.

This is a private, spacious campsite, and Rufus and family are great hosts! It's a very natural setting, with a large prarie surrounding most of the campsite. The weather was all over the place on us being hot and humid, with storms and rain popping up at random. We ended up shortening our trip a night just so we didnt have to pack everything up soaking wet the next morning. You have a long distance view of the south sky which made for a really nice light show of storms that were south of us. The exposed south does make it extra hot in the midday sun, so bring some shade in the summertime. We recommend getting the vegetables as well, as they are excellent! Thanks Rufus!

We love it so much here! It’s so beautiful and peaceful. We cannot get over the lack of mosquitoes. It is our second time camping here, and I’m sure we’ll be back!

Rufus and Joy were absolutely AMAZING! Their property is breathtaking, as is their hospitality. We were taken away by their commitment to their community, promoting knowledge & offering education about their land and what they do, as well as their gardens! They were so friendly when we first arrived and told us about themselves and their farm. They encouraged us to explore their property. The campsite was beautiful, perched on a hill with the prairie & farmstead in sight. The toilet was a simple compost toilet with privacy (bring your own toilet paper 😉). There was a nice offering of firewood available. It is a short drive up the hill (AWD or 4x4 reccomended), and pivate. Unfortunately, we had to end our trip short due to rain/winds that our tent set-up couldn't handle. If there's rain/wind in the forecast, just be sure to make sure everything is tied down, or taken down. The wind comes up over the hill & can be very strong. We 100% 10/10 recommend this site & are making plans to visit again!!!

Rufus's land was quiet and comfortable. Easy access to water and an outhouse on site. It's quiet and beautiful. There is a picnic table and a fire ring with wood available. The tree line offered shade all day.
The eggs were amazing!
I look forward to staying there again!

We had a fantastic first camp of the season on Rufus and Joy's land. The area is absolutely gorgeous and the site is the perfect combination of open yet secluded. We enjoyed exploring the trails around the property, birdwatching, and seeing the animals. Rufus and Joy are around and very friendly and also give you your space. The site itself was perfect for both car camping (us) and tent camping (our friends) and the picnic table and wood pile were much appreciated. And don't even get me started on the glorious star-gazing!! We got a dozen of delicious farm-fresh eggs too.
One thing to keep in mind if you're with a group is that for the bathroom situation there is a bucket (with toilet lid) that we moved behind a car for some privacy ;) and super clean portapotties closer to the house/up the trail.
Was sad to leave and would love to come back here again - highly recommend!

Rufus’s land is a retreat that is equally beautiful and peaceful. It is a haven in the middle of the Driftless that I would recommend to any outdoor enthusiasts.

Rufus was an incredible host even staying up late to help me find my way on super short notice! Couldnt have asked for a better spot! secluded and neat with protection from the wind at night but a beautiful view!

Nice place! Absolutely beautiful view over the farm. Great place to pitch tents under the pine tree canopy. Lovely walking trails through the prairie. And it was nice to chat with Rufus and see the farm when we arrived. A lovely time!

Outside of the BWCA, this was my favorite camping experience! The view of the land was incredible, the night sky was perfectly dark and perfect for stargazing, and Rufus and Joy were great hosts!

Beautiful farm in a stunning area of Wisconsin. Easy to find and yet nicely secluded. Our spot had good open sky and tree coverage to one side. Great star gazing each night. Only downside was half of the ground was fairly muddy but that was due to excessive rain in the area for several weeks. Rufus and Joy were very welcoming. Joy greeted us and helped us get settled well upon arrival. There was a large supply of good firewood to start, and Rufus brought us more dry wood after a large storm came thru.

Rufus and Joy are fantastic! They welcome you to their homestead like family, while still letting you keep to yourself. Camping at Keewaydin Farms is an amazing way to experience the beauty of the driftless area. We’re repeat visitors, and will continue to be. Grab some great produce or hit up a workshop.

Remote yet accessible are the words to describe the campsite. Nice area to hang with a group with the woods sheltering and providing a beautiful backdrop. Rufus was a friendly and accommodating host. For example, he brought us dry wood after it rained. While there we explored Viroqua on a rainy day and tried our hand at fishing in a nearby stream before we left.

This spot is amazing! Beautiful wide open view in all directions, while still feeling private. Camped under a bizillion stars. Rufus and Joy are super nice. They let us say hello to their sheep and stocked firewood for us. Would definitely come back and explore the other camp sites!

We had a great experience. The site was very secluded and peaceful - sunsets and sunrises over the pasture land were amazing. There was a nice fire ring, plenty of firewood and a porta potty. Rufus and Joy were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and took the time to chat with us about their farm and the surrounding area. Highly recommended!!

This was a wonderful camping spot! Rufus was incredibly friendly and helpful, and there was firewood available for us at our campsite. We even noted that the outhouse by the campsite smelled nice. We plan to come back again this summer.

We loved car camping at Keewaydin Farms and getting a chance to meet Rufus and his mother, Mary! Rufus was a fantastic host and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. It was also nice to get to know them and some history about the farm.
The views were spectacular during the day and at night. During our stay, the weather was quite hot so we went to the Kickapoo river and into Viroqua one of the days to try and stay cool, but would have loved to do more hiking throughout the farm and get a tour from Rufus or purchase some produce.
The outdoor shower was an awesome perk and having firewood to use, potable water nearby, and a pit toilet on site was ideal for my family's camping trip and my parents' first time camping with some comforts. We had some spots with shade and sun throughout, a couple tables for food/prepping, and space to park our cars on site. It couldn't have been better and I'm excited to see it next time as I know they're just getting started on Hipcamp!
We would highly recommend this camp. We have always been enamored with the Driftless region and make it there a few times a year, and will certainly be back to camp at Keewaydin while exploring the region!

What a great host!! Spent a night tenting. It was nice and quiet with great star gazing. Firewood provided was a big plus since we arrived on motorcycle.
