River Trail Hollow

We really enjoyed our stay at site #7. Everything was as advertised and would be happy to stay there again. Such a great base camp for riding the Greenbrier River Trail.

Very quiet and peaceful site. I stayed a few nights and enjoyed the stay. My Garmin GPS took me directly to the site so no issues with that and as stated, no cell service with att or Verizon, which is actually nice. Water, porta potty, showers, firewood, don't need much else.

Steve's campground was an excellent place to stay along the Greenbrier River. Its a very thought out place, very peaceful with nice amenities. We're so glad they keep their mowing to a minimum to allow native plants and moss to grow. Native plants don't foster as many mosquitoes as conventional non-native grasses and we didnt have bug problems. The creek was super nice and so was the firewood. Looking forward to coming back!

Hot Showers!

Awesome spot, hot showers! Campground is well maintained, campsites are decently spaced apart. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire ring. Firewood available for purchase. There is no reception so be sure to print off instructions that the host sends you. Extremely close to Cranberry Gladed!

Quiet and Convenient

Peaceful tent campsite right next to the creek and easy access to the Greenbrier River Trail and the Greenbrier River. Great place to stay for biking on the GRT in either direction and close to Jack Horner’s Corner for food, beverages or forgotten items. Nice pavilion provided on Steve’s land as an amenity kept us dry during a heavy rain and was much appreciated. Nice place to stay!

I stayed in a basic non-electric site and it was perfect for what I needed. Dark, quiet, hot shower, food close by, Greenbrier River even closer. Make sure you follow the directions! Also, the gate code is the combo for the padlock!

River Trail Hollow Campground was a lovely place to spend the night during a bike trip that included the Greenbrier River Trail. The owners were very helpful, and we had a grassy, private site on the creek. Showers were a nice amenity after a hot day on a bike, and the we appreciated the free crate of firewood.

A Perfect Stay for Trail Riders

This campground is perfect for trail riders. The proximity to the trail and river made it an obvious choice. It was private, peaceful, and quiet. The showers were clean with hot water, the porta-johns were clean with no unpleasant odor, and the well water from the spigots had a great taste. Although we didn't need to use it, I was impressed by the pavilion with plenty of seating, a sink, and electrical outlets. A free bundle of firewood for your stay was a nice touch. I really just don't have any negatives to write of about this campground. I'd recommend it, for sure.

Wild and Wonderful

This place is excellent! So clean and peaceful. It has hot showers and a place to wash your dishes, which is huge when you’re tent camping. It is close enough to things, yet you feel so far and tucked away. There is no cell service, and that was great! I was saddened as I broke down camp and cannot wait until I can return. Anyone needing a break from the grind and to unplug to recharge, this is the spot. Bring a kayak, fishing pole, and/or mountain bike.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at River Trail Hollow campground. Very well maintained and full of beautiful wild flowers. Nice showers and clean porta potties. We were there to bike the Greenbrier River Trail which was right beside the campground. Will most definitely return.

My husband and I booked 2 nights over Labor Day weekend and it was so peaceful and quiet. The Greenbriar River Trail is next to the camp which is great. The corner store up the road has everything you would need. RV site #4 is creekside so you could hear the water flowing. Spacious sites with grass trimmed low. We really enjoyed our stay and already planning another trip back. The host is very responsive and responds within an hour or less.

Nice semi-wooded campsites with dappled sunlight and plenty of space between campers. Mostly tent sites with a small number of small RV sites convenient to campground amenities. No view of the river but an easy, short walk to the river and the Greenbrier Trail. A nice alternative to nearby Watoga State Park if you want a smaller quieter location.

Returning Campers!

Another fabulous weekend at River Trail Hollow, the Greenbrier Trail, and Cranberry Wilderness! We already have plans to be back for a 3rd time. #7 was fabulous with electric/water at the lot plus it is next to the stream. Very clean amenities and perfect for a biking, kayaking, fishing and hiking fun-filled vacation!

This is a gem of a hipcamp find, located on the Greenbrier River Trail for those keen on cycling, walking and/or running. It is a place that is limited to tent campers and smaller travel-trailers due to a 10 foot bridge you have to be able to pass under. We always struggle to find places that have private, almost primitive sites, but also have toilet and shower faciities, as we do not have that on board… this place had portapotties but were clean, and rustic but practical showers. And the site was just spectacular! We were at site #25, almost on the trail and by far the most private site there was. Highly recommended for those like-minded teardrop campers like us!

Very quiet and peaceful. Loved the dish cleaning area. Also had a hook up where I could wash my bike. The shower was just right, as far as temperature goes. I chose a site next to the creek and enjoyed the sounds of it as I drifted off to sleep. Will definitely be back.

Went well! Secluded and quiet, beautiful scenery. Porta potty was clean. The shower is big with two stalls and hot water. Friendly and respectful owner. Only downfall is there is no trash cans for use and no lights out at night.
