The campsite was GORGEOUS! And very spacious. There was a beautiful view of a seriously blue river from sun up to sun down. The peace and quiet was unreal! Also we were able to enjoy a campfire each night. There's so many more amazing details I could share about our stay but I believe anyone and everyone needs to experience it first hand. It was a truly wonderful place and we were sad to leave but we will definitely be back!

A lot closer to the road than we expected, but a beautiful spot overall. Unless they replace their cart for loading and unloading your stuff, BRING YOUR OWN. Toilet was a bit of a walk but soo nice to have!

We were looking for a private spot for our dog’s first camping trip and Reed’s property was a perfect choice. Lots of space for her to explore, and fun for us too! Not to mention the nicest composting toilet I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much for having us!

Another great trip camping on Reed’s land! It’s tucked in the woods next to the river and has great space cleared for your tent. Listening to the river is so peaceful. Composting toilet was great and the cart to help bring things from the car was very helpful! Will absolutely stay here another time.

Great access to the Skagit River, private, and a beautiful view! The hosts have created a great access trail, while still maintaining the natural untouched feel of the wild and scenic Skagit corridor. We appreciated all the extra touches: a covered picnic table, leveled sand tent pad and the BEST compost toilet I have ever used (seriously, this wins the gold medal for hand crafted Hip Camp toilets).
We were attracted to this camp based on reviews that our dogs could roam off leash, and it did not disappoint- our dogs enjoyed free access to the woods and river all weekend, and were tuckered out by the end!

Such a beautiful and amazing space! Really nice to have a canopy and table provided, and the view from the camping spot is amazing. Short walk down to the river where we were able to hang out on a small bank.

Loved the campsite here! Really appreciated the bench as well as the burn barrel and picnic table. We came early April and the canopy was so helpful with the light rain. The sunshine still poked thru and made sure to say hello before we left :) If you plan on visiting in the rainy months- bring your rain boots, we brought ours and it made clean up so easy. The mini waterfall leading to the river was unexpected and lovely! The rope leading down to the rivers beach was super helpful as well. The area is well maintained and the bathroom was so nice. Felt like a luxury, we definitely want to visit this site again next year. Thanks guys!

Amazing spot right on the river. Reed was super cool and accommodating for our change of plans one of the two nights. It is right off hey 20, but the sites itself is far enough away from the highway and close enough to the river that you cant hear any highway noise - just the rushing Skagit! View from the tent pad looks over the river, great site to spot birds (saw a morning eagle). Water is accessible across the street at their house. Cart is provided to haul stuff down to the site, but recommend bringing a 2nd cart if you have a lot of stuff.

We enjoyed our time at the river site, it was nice to be right on the river during a hot weekend. The site was definitely private but very close to busy highway 20 traffic noise. The bathroom was nice and clean! The walk to the site isn't too bad from the parking lot and we made use of the cart provided. My only complaint is that there is not water available at the site itself, it's at the owner's house. We ended up just buying water at the store down the street.

Really an awesome spot. Feels very private and peaceful, without being too far from conveniences. We really felt like we had the forest to ourselves. Loved the big trees and being nestled against the river. There's plenty of room for tents, a nice big picnic table, and a shockingly nice bathroom. The only possible "downsides" are 1) that you do have to walk 5-7 min from the car to the campsite, down a hill (feels worth it if you're staying multiple nights) and 2) you can hear the road noise from highway 20 (but the river helps drown it out). Honestly neither of those things really bothered me, I would definitely return!

We really enjoyed this plot. The composting toilet was well maintained, and a luxury to have. The trail to our site was shaded and pretty easy to get our wagon full of camp gear to. This site has lots of privacy, a large burn barrel, small table top grill, pop up gazebo, and picnic table available to campers. Views of the water were breathtaking and our host was very nice upon our arrival.

We really loved camping here (2 adults, 1 dog)! It was so fun being close to the river and playing along the rocky beach. We set up our tent closer to the river to have more of the river sounds as we slept. Reed’s place feels close enough to things you need, but still far enough away to enjoy the woods ❤️ and it’s closed to some cool parks! without a doubt, we’d book it again.

Absolutely beautiful spot. If you need a night away from the world with so much of the work done for you this is a great spot. It was so nice to just pack food and a tent and everything else you really need already there. The view is gorgeous and my dogs really loved being able to relax outside with no one else in sight or distance. Will definitely be staying again.

This spot was great for our group of 6 and felt very private. There was a little road noise from the highway but the sound of the river helped cover it. The bathroom was GREAT, very clean and well thoughtout, but it is a little bit of a walk from the site. We appreciated the huge picnic table and canopy, and access to the river was so nice. Reed was easy to communicate with and flexible when our arrival time kept getting delayed. We had a great time!

I don’t say this lightly: I think this might be my favorite Hipcamp. Admittedly, I am biased because I have two reactive dogs who love the woods and trails so they don’t get a ton of off leash time living in the city, and they were SO HAPPY and at peace on this property. The one who usually has to be on a line bc he never stays nearby felt so safe and content that I didn’t even have to pull out the line.
The property is utterly stunning. “Having to” walk it to use the bathroom was such a joy each time. Reed is a wonderful host, very responsive, respectful and friendly. My co-camper and I are both about 5’3 and the walk from the car to the site took about 7ish mins, though we tended to amble along and let the dogs sniff and explore so I don’t think I clocked a solid average time. I would recommend bringing less if you intend to glamp bc of the walk. If you’re staying at least two nights, huffing all the stuff is worth it, but next time I’m def bringing my smaller, lighter weight gear. Reed provides a very sturdy cart and thankfully I also had mine in the car so we were able to get everything to the site and back in two carts with two trips, each way. There’s a hill that you have to pull stuff down and up. The other reviewers are right: the bathroom is an experience. That’s all I’ll say. And the set up at the site is 100%. I will absolutely be back … probably dozens of times. I could easily see this being a great “home base” for exploring the area. 100/10 recommend.

Staying on Reed's land -- right on the Skagit River -- was absolutely Awesome! Reed went *well out of his way* to give me clear instructions for my really late / "wee hour" arrival (thank you again Reed) -- and couldn't have been more accommodating as a host.
Not only is Reed an incredibly kind and considerate host -- but the camping mindset here is top notch. Leave your sun shelter, packable fire pits and other things behind -- the site here is setup for everything you could need, with quality construction. There's also a little trail down to the river for access, and lots of different places to setup tents of any size, hammocks, and enjoy river views and sounds.
Not only is the camp site itself great, but the bathroom is something that could be documented to inspire others 🤣 This is no lowly "composting toilet" -- this is a Bathroom Temple 🛕, out in the woods -- clean and open, with an impressive build that will stand the test of time.
The amount of thought, consideration and focus that's been put into this spot is awesome. Enjoy a short walk down to the site -- to escape the highway noise a bit, and get away from your vehicle. Bring a cart if you wish -- or in my case, just a large backpack. It's a short 3-4 minute walk *max*, so it's easy to lug whatever you need.
If you're needing some reflection, seclusion, or kicking off points for paddling or hiking -- this is a great spot. Hope to be back soon, thank you Reed!

Host was very friendly and helpful, the site was awesome and felt very private. The bathroom was so clean and nice although I never actually used it because I travel with my own. My iPhone which is on Verizon got a bit of a signal but my Samsung on at&t did not. My dog had a great time wandering around but he's a big scaredy cat so he didn't want to sleep in the new tent I brought. We did get to spend lots of time at the actual site with amazing views and nice camp fire during day and dusk and retreated back up to the parking area to van camp during the night. Overall it was an awesome hipcamp and just the bit of peace I needed.

The camping spot on Reeds land was great! Nice view, nice large picnic table and canopy provided with a bench, chairs, and a firepit. Site was well maintained. The short walk from the parking to the site is a bit longer than what was expected. Don’t bring too much to camp with unless you bring a wagon/cart. Would also recommend getting to the spot with enough time to unload during daylight because of the walk. Reed was helpful and communicative during our arrival.

What a sweet little spot! Reed was so welcoming and kind. It is about an 8 minute walk from the parking area, and felt very secluded, private. Close to great hikes, old growth forests, and beautiful Lake Shannon! I had a peaceful weekend here with my dog.

You can tell the spot is cared about. Awesome setup, like 20 seconds from the water. Bathroom was a nice cabin with lights. Reed showed us the spot pretty late at night, 10/10 the trees and proximity to the river are hard to beat
