A great stay at Moonshine!
This is a great example of "primitive camping with benefits!" The camp host/ owner Michael is very kind and accommodating, and the assistant manager/head of security -Yogi- while at first shy, will soon become your best friend, and will want all the pets. I was the first guest at this beautiful property, with views of the southeast side of Mt Adams, (I had just climbed it, and really was looking for a place to rest my old and tired knees), and while still being developed, it's this great paradox of truly away and quiet, but with plenty of potable water, nice wi-fi, if you choose to use it (no, I'm not that guy, but as this was on a whim, I had a couple of important emails to respond to) and a bath house with shower. Right now, there are lots of choices as far as just parking/ camping in the meadow, or under the trees, but he has plans to do slightly more manicured sites in the future, as well as covered fire pits, as there is a pretty wide open fire burn ban in the area, due to a low snow pack. Very rustic, and semi-remote, it is SO quiet, and you can truly get away, but it's within 40 minutes of outstanding wineries, some good restaurants, mountain biking and more. In short, truly "out there" camping, but with a shower, so your family doesn't leave you, and, if you want, enough signal to keep your Wordle and Connections streaks alive! Thanks, Michael and Yogi! I'll see you again!
