I’m sorry, but I can’t recommend this place for a weekend stay. The property is basically someone’s home with about half an acre set aside for roughly 15 RV spots. Of those, only about three looked like they had actually been prepared as campsites. The rest were essentially areas of land with water, sewer, and electric hookups.
The biggest issue is that nearly the entire property slopes down toward the lake. Our first site was so uneven that we couldn’t get the camper remotely level, so we had to move. The second site was better, but still uneven enough that we slept noticeably off-level that night. The full-time campers have built up and leveled their rigs, which works for long-term stays, but most weekend campers aren’t going to be prepared to do that.
The owner and caretaker were GREAT, friendly, and helpful. I just think they are more comfortable with a rougher style of camping than many weekend RVers may expect.
If you stay here, bring plenty of leveling blocks. Also, the campground is on a dirt road, so passing vehicles create a lot of dust.
At around $100 for one night, I think it’s reasonable to expect a campsite to be properly prepared and reasonably level, not just a spot in a field with hookups.
