Welcome to Little Farm - Swannanoa! Hi! We are Kiera and Mary Bulan, and we run a community flower, vegetable, and herb farm in Swannanoa, NC. Our 6+ acre property is nestled in a fertile river valley along the Swannanoa River, offering rich habitats for nature lovers and ecological explorers. Women-, queer-, and BIPOC-owned—all friends, new and old, are welcome! Campsites: You'll be staying on a vibrant working farm with your choice of campsite—under shade trees by the river, near a turtle pond, or out in a sunny meadow. Life on the Farm: In our 2-acre production field, you're welcome to wander through carefully tended rows of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. We follow organic practices and regenerative, no-till methods and are eager to share our knowledge with fellow enthusiastic growers. A ½-acre native pollinator planting attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial creatures all season long. Enjoy the mist on the mountains as you sip your morning tea surrounded by blooming snapdragons, marigolds, and cosmos. Wildlife and Nature: Search for frog eggs and baby ducks among the cattails in the swamp. Differentiate dozens of bird species along forest paths. Scan the river for kingfishers and spawning bass. Cast a line for catfish in the pond (just be alert for turtles!). Our Story: We've been growing here since 2021 on a rented acre. After the property was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene, we took a leap of faith and officially purchased the parcel in early 2026. Today, visitors can witness the inspiring, resilient restoration efforts of both humans and nature at work—live stakes, riparian plantings, abundant birdlife, and flourishing new growth! Bear Safety and Location: We live in Black Bear country, and require responsible behavior from our guests. Keep all food locked in your vehicle or bear-safe container. Never feed or approach a bear. Detailed tips on bear safety from the National Park Service provided prior to arrival. Our location offers convenient access to Swannanoa, Black Mountain, and Asheville.

Our stay on the flower farm was wonderful. Thr setting up as so quiet and private, and walking through the flowers at sunset was a favorite memory of the trip. Also, they had the cleanest, most well stocked porta potty we’d ever seen!

Best Hipcamp site I've been at.

Pondside Sycamores
This was the best site I've ever been to through hipcamp. Mary, the host was very gracious, and toured me around the small farm which holds numerous comfy and private sites. Not far from my particular site was access to a river view and access. Later that evening Mary hosted a bonfire (and performed music) for a summer intern and their friends and family who were finishing up a summer internship with them. It was a very charming afternoon and evening. I would love to come back. This Hipcamp is new, so I see it blooming in popularity in the near future. Thank you Mary! Be Well and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Lovely gorgeous beautiful farm! We did a quick one night stay in a thunderstorm(!) and still managed to love it. It’s a short 3-5 minute walk from the parking to the camping spot. Nice and private and shady. Saw a bazillion lightning bugs, and enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise.

Pondside Sycamores
What a breath of fresh air to arrive after a busy day in Asheville! I really enjoyed the views and peacefull night sleep and my walk on the property. I'm coming back for sure! Next time I will head to the pond and see more of the property since it rained the moring I was there. Also, communicative host and smooth, easy check in. Would definitely reccomend!

Quiet spot with a solid level gravel pad. Rested well. Some low hanging branches on the driveway were hard to avoid in a taller vehicle. Lot's of birds and rabbits to enjoy.
