Space, scenic views, great mountain biking, abundant wildlife, peace and quiet. These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) working cattle property. If you are interested in seeing more of the property outside of the camping areas, please let me know. You have the option of visiting other parts of the property so you can enjoy a whole day hiking in the bush through rain forest, steep inclines and across creeks and rivers. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. There is plenty of space for social distancing. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. At Stonepine Ridge, some areas of the top country are accessible by 2WD when not wet but high suspension and 4wheel drive vehicles are recommended. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The property goes from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom.

Stonepine Ridge: Gully Retreat
A picturesque amazing property 🤩 with horses, cattle a beautiful creek to camp alongside. Peaceful, secluded and tranquil. Liz the lovely owner, gave us directions from Stanthorpe and met us at the property gate. She showed us where was best for us to camp and even delivered us some firewood. Will definitely go there again and recommend to everyone 😊

Stonepine Ridge: Eagle Point
Our stay at Liz' property "Stonepine Ridge" was an absolute treat and I have to say it's probably one of the best camping experiences I have ever had in SEQ. Liz is a warm, welcoming and bubbly personality who took time to meet and greet us on multiple occasions during our stay. The location, nature experience and beautiful views are second to none and I can highly recommend staying with Liz - we will definitely be back.

Hidden Gem!
An absolute hidden gem !!! This property has so much to offer, and has a little bit of everything that everyone will love. Stayed at Rorys Lookout for the weekend and absolutely loved it. Stunning views and a running creek down the bottom. Was shown around by Alan who shared the love he has for the property. Highly recommend for those wanting stunning views mixed with space away from the crowds. Can't wait for our next visit!

Stonepine Ridge: Long Paddock
Therapeutic Unplug
What an Amazing place!!! Liz showed us round the property then welcomed us to explore. It’s got so many hidden treasures. Throughly enjoyed our stay and firewood was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend. We didn’t see another person, power pole, mobile tower or anything except amazing scenery and some friendly Cows. Felt in a world of our own and didn’t want to go home.

Stonepine Ridge: Bush Paddock
Beautiful quiet rainy weekend
We had a great stay at Stonepine Ridge! Did not sleep at 'bush retreat', as we arrived a bit late in the day and Elizabeth redirected us to the very quiet and easy-to-find Long Paddock. Beautiful property, easy to navigate with 4WD. The view from Rory's lookout is great. Just so you know, at the moment, there is a more detailed map with campsite names that is available at the entrance of the property; and campsites are numbered with numbers painted on trees. Only a few cattle gates are locked and require getting in and out of the car for. Finally Elizabeth is a lovely host :)

Stonepine Ridge: Bookookarara Creek
Beautiful riverside camp
Fabulous campsite on the Bookookarara River, very peaceful, about as good as a campsite gets. Gracious and lovely host Liz was very helpful and accommodating. The views from her house are to die for. Close to wineries and several National Parks. Highly recommended. We will certainly go back.

Stonepine Ridge : Rory's Lookout
Isolation, views, great for dogs.
First up, Elizabeth was amazing and was the most organised host we have encountered. So, great start. Once she had us settled, we found ourselves totally alone with spectacular views. We watched the Wedgetail eagles sour above us and had our own campfire to keep us warm. We will definitely be back. Our Labrador loved exploring and possibly had a better time than us, although that would be difficult. We will definitely be back!

Camping with heaps of space
The property is huge and everyone is spread out and has privacy. The surroundings are beautiful, tranquil and quiet. I highly recommend Stonepine Ridge camping for those who don't enjoy commercialised on top of each other camping. There are heaps of different spots to choose from: creek, openness, trees, view. It's close to stanthorpe to do day trips and Girraween national park. The kids can walk, play and mountainbike and it's awesome for dogs!!

Stonepine Ridge : Rory's Lookout
Such a gorgeous view from the campsite, many spots to choose from, while still not being over crowded. Was very windy and misty but to be expected with how high up you are. Elizabeth was possibly one of the nicest people I have met and I am so glad she was super accommodating and so kind too! Would love to stay again sometime :)

Stonepine Ridge: Bookookarara Creek
Perfect bush camp
This place is magic. An absolute gem for a nice quiet fire next to the creek. Elizabeth went out of her way to make us feel welcome and had everything we needed. I would recommend reading the property guide closely before booking. E.g. 4wd requirements, toilet situation etc. A few people arrived unprepared and I am sure their experience suffered as a result. Elizabeth is also planning some upgrades to better accommodate bigger vehicles etc. Definitely a worth while spot to visit.

Amazing Farm Camping
The farm is so stunning, the creek though too cold for me to jump into looks inviting and if it were warmer I would of been in there. Elizabeth was so welcoming and inviting and very helpful. We will definitely be back again soon.

Bush Camping
We love to camp remote in the bush, preferably away from others so we have our own solitude. We are self contained as we have our own solar and toilet and shower in our van. Elizabeth's property ticked all those boxes when we were checking Hipcamp that is why we chose it.

Camping on the Creek
What a beautiful site! If you are lucky enough to be in the gorgeous place all by yourself! What an experience 👏 although the camp sites are spread enough that I imagine it would be pretty peaceful. Liz was very personable giving us some great local tips. We absolutely will be back to this little slice of magic

Great sunsets!
A lovely grassy campsite with great sunsets! 4WD needed if there’s rain as it gets a bit slippery. If staying near the creek or Rory’s, be mindful this may be tricky for 2WD or inexperienced towing vehicles. Close drive to Stanthorpe wineries, cheese factories, and Girraween national park! Elizabeth is a great host!

Camping without crowds
Stonepine Ridge camping is awesome as it’s a huge wild camping area with no heaps of people around. Heaps of space, peace, auiet and amazing for dogs. Liz is a very friendly and helpful host!! I can higy recommend Stonepine Ridge for people who don’t like crowds. It is also in a lovely location close to Stanthorpe activities and sightseeing and Girraween national park. There are not a lot of compost longdrips, but we had one at our campsite and it was great. There is also heaps of paddock wood for a big fire!! Thanks Liz for an amazing stay!

The campsite was brilliant, with gorgeous views of the mountains. Elizabeth met us at the gate and took us on an easy, but fun, 4 wheel drive trail through her property to the camp site. She helped us pick out a good spot to set up camp and made sure we had everything we needed.
