At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower.

Bunyip's-Moo's Site Primitive Power
Basic site, no phone or internet
It is Over priced for what is really a free camp site, but with power. No facilities useable. That was sort of OK BUT No mobile phone reception, so no calls and no data thus no internet available for either Vodafone or Telstra.

Lovely place, dogs a big problem
Lovely place and great setting in the bush with a good distance from other campers. All as described. However the owners dogs were a big problem. I was warned by Lisa to let her know when I would be arriving so she could lock the dogs up to stop them scratching the car. I rang and let Lisa know I would soon be arriving. When I arrived two enthusiastic dogs and no Lisa. I sat in the car for a while, eventually when I opened the car doors the dogs jumped up and scratched the car. I rang Lisa who then turned up. She said she had not locked the dogs up as they seemed very relaxed that day. At that point I had not realised they had scratched the car so we did not discuss it any further. Otherwise the dogs were good, but to know they scratch cars and I rang ahead and then not to stop them is really annoying. This is hundreds of dollars of damage to my car! Really frustrating and I would not go back here if that's their approach to a known problem!

Beautiful dogs that were great company and very well behaved, we miss them dearly. Me and my partner would love to stay again, the nice quiet open space was wonderful.

A refreshing break from van parks
We’ve been traveling the east coast for the last 2 weeks camping in unpowered van park sites. Nothing compares to a patch of grass in the middle of the bush with space to just be with your own family. We were the only campers in the lower camp area ‘under the pines’ but even of others were camping on this property, we would’ve had the privacy we were looking for when we booked this accommodation. A luxury to have a flushing toilet & the outdoor shower is an experience to remember. A memorable & comfortable stay with Lisa & her 2 dogs (who spent some time with us too) Julie + family

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
The host Lisa was friendly and helpful. The spot (HideAway) is quite big and secluded at the same time which was great. The only downside was the swarms of insects as soon as it got dark, way too much of them. There's a creek next to the spot so that explains it.

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Beautiful and very private
Beautiful place with very private sections away from other campers. Lovely walk through the bush to the billabong. Didn’t catch a glimpse of a bunyip but definitely the type of onscreen they would live in. Great value got money

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
I loved the Bunyip camp under the pines, the directions were clear and it was very secluded. This was my first camp using Hipcamp so it was a bit of a trial run for both. I am very happy with both Lisa and hipcamp a good introduction and will be back with my family and friend next time

Bush paradise
We had such a delightful time staying in this gorgeous spot. We were guided to a beautiful little clearing and although there were other campers nearby, we felt like we were in the bush on our own. The bird life was stunning and we loved waking to their chorus in the morning.

Bush camping 2 hours from Sydney
An excellent campground less than 2 hours from Sydney. Great private areas to pitch your tent in close proximity to shops if you need supplies… and the State/National park up the road is a must visit. Excellent dirt road conditions with an awesome lookout at the end.

Beautiful quiet bush camp! Clear directions to camp from Lisa & Robert. Well spaced camp sites - could hardly tell there was anybody else there. There was a toilet and shower on site that we didn’t need to use as we are fully self contained. Would definitely camp here again.

Excellent experience
It was by far one of the best camping grounds I've been and the host - Robert and Lisa were more than helpful. The area is huge surrounded by huge Eucalyptus tress and lush green grass. The site we stayed was an unpowered site but it had toilets and hot shower which was perfect. Ample of area to setup tent and play. Coles and Bunnings are quite nearby so don't worry if you are short on things or not enough place in your car to bring along. Make sure to collect you rubbish and dump at proper place since there is no Bin service at site. Definitely recommend for bigger groups!

Lots of open space
Lovely peaceful campsite, lots of open space with plenty of room between campsites among the trees making them quiet private. Hot camp shower and toilet available if not self sufficient. Lisa is a fantastic host friendly and helpful and the two friendly resident dogs love hanging out . Only Short drive to the foot of the Watagans. Had a great stay would recommend

Stunning campsite, felt a million miles from anywhere but easily accessible. Facilities are basic, but what more do you need? Other campers were around, but the space between campsites means you still have privacy. Would absolutely go back.
