This Hip Camp site was just improved at the end of May 2026. The road is widened and an easy drive to the campsite, the outhouse is now operable and there is a flat area for large tents or camper vehicles. Tender Field hip camp is located on a quiet rural road not far from the town of Lewiston. It sits on 33 acres, 4 acres of field and the rest is wooded with a sweet small creek and trail that leads to a series of beaver dams. Though the camp is only 10 minutes from the heart of Lewiston the campsite offers a lovely spot in the woods. And at the end of the property, if adventurous, you can get a distant view of Mt Washington. And if you want to explore more. Near by you can either visit a quaint town called Lisbon Falls which offers some lovely outdoor activities or go to Lewiston/Auburn and venture into the twin cities. There are some decent restaurants, a few pubs and Bates College has a great art museum and sweet outdoor waling garden area. There are also a few hiking trails to explore, Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary or Mt Apetite.

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
Pitch your tent or rent a Jayco Popup camper along the trail either close to the entrance of the trail or towards the creek that leads to the beaver pond. There are a series of beaver dams and lovely wildlife surrounding it. You can also follow the creek in another direction and find a cascading bubbling brook. The sites are relatively private surrounded by trees. The trail entrance is about a 3 minute walk to the main house. The wooded sites have fire pits and trash cans.

This was a wonderful, private spot to sleep for the night. Outhouse was at the site and clean.

Camped in a 17 ft pop-up camper at Camp Shelters For Every Occasion with pets, Sept 2025.

    It was okay

Host was so quick to communicate which was wonderful since we booked same day in evening. However not sure if I misread the ad but we had a pop-up; the main site is a walk-in or an atv-style or jeep drive but there was no way a pop-up could fit. I think the misunderstanding was that she rents a pop-up so it appeared in my search result. Host was super communicative though, and we were able to set up in a small area in a field right before the trail started, but even that was pretty tight fit but we’re glad it worked out for one night.
