Tucked away in small Kansas town, I had a good nights rest here with my dog. Fully stocked with a campfire, table, tiki lights, a dock with a pond and a porta-potty. Part of the land is sloped but wasn't too difficult to find a level spot. I think I was told there might be a train running at night but I don't remember hearing anything except for what sounded like dogs or coyotes. Not too far from Topeka which was pretty nice town, we enjoyed the state capitol building and architecture.

Edge Of The Road Camping Ground
Edge of the Road is one of the best spots we have stayed. Randy and Tracy are really nice hosts. The spot is in a really nice grassy area over looking trees and pond. Nice pathways around property for walking. It was perfect for camping. We would highly recommend camping here!

This place is amazing. Owners were great and helpful. Location was beautiful, wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Land was perfect for tent camping. Would definitely recommend checking this place out

Tracy and Randy were a very nice couple. The site was well maintained and very pretty. We enjoyed the privacy of this site and the trails that lead off of it. Seen some cool stuff and animals around the property.

This place is a little slice of heaven -- the hosts have gone out of their way to make my stay amazing -- chairs, table, BBQ grill, solar lights and firewood. The pond was filled with fish jumping for fireflies and three beautiful ducks were my friends for my whole stay -- Thanx for a relaxing couple of days PS I heard a shower is coming soon

Tracy and Randy were excellent hosts, greeting us personally with a welcome bag of goodies and a fire ring already set up for a campfire despite the fact that we arrived rather late in the evening. The grounds and toilet facilities were very well kept and clean. We also enjoyed the open space and the lovely, small pond and lighted dock.

Initially getting to the campsite was a different experience for us. After driving past Tracy and Randy’s home and barn, we ended up at our very private campsite. It truly felt we were in the middle of nowhere, and set up camp right next to their spring fed pond. Fishing was fantastic, and they had two kayaks for us to use. The bathroom was very clean, and we had access to well water to replenish as needed. They kindly provided us with farm fresh eggs, and a s’mores kit. The property is big enough to take a decent walk and explore. With town just a few minutes away, it was easy to grab any needed items. Great place to stay!

They were in constant contact with me two weeks before my trip. I got in an hour before dark. Tracy immediately came out and showed me everything came back to the site. Randy brought me a goodie bag and some fresh farm eggs. Great host very friendly. Would highly recommend anybody traveling through this area. If I come back this way again I will stay here 110%. very peaceful and quiet. Very close to the little store in in town. Carbondale is a very friendly town.

This site what’s exactly what I needed! Nothing fancy, but peaceful, safe and clean. They were out to meet me when I pulled in and even gave me a goody bag with s’mores supplies and fire starter. Would definitely recommend, especially for solo female travelers.

Amazing host, easy directions, and a personal slice of heaven. We stayed one night with our 4 year old daughter and this place was AMAZING. Peaceful. So many different spots to set up camp. Fun trails to walk and enjoy nature. The pond was stocked with fish was that our kiddo was able to catch, 4! A big field we were able to play ball in. Easy accessible fire pit. Lots of provided wood. It did rain a bit and our hosts checked in on us to make sure we were still enjoying our time. 100/10 recommend!

My friends and I got to the property after 11pm and didn’t expect any of the listed amenities from the host (meeting upon arrival). Mr. Randy was surprisingly still up to greet us and was kind enough to bring us firewood at almost midnight. The farm was also very quiet and a great place to camp!

I had such an amazing, peaceful time camping at the Edge of the Road. This was the perfect camping spot in Kansas for my cross country road trip.
For starters, Tracy and Randy couldn't have been nicer. They were so sweet to me and made sure I had everything I needed. I felt really safe as a solo female on their land.
Secondly, the sites have unbeatable views. You can choose between waterfront or meadow camping. I went with waterfront and I was not disappointed. The sunrise was beautiful and incredibly peaceful.
If you're going thru Kansas, you're gonna want to book this!

My fiancé and I had the most wonderful stay at The Edge Of The Road Camping Ground. Our hosts Tracy and Randy were so generous, kind, and thoughtful. When we arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and fun camping experience. The property was quaint, gorgeous, and well-maintained. We will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!
