Flitterbug Farm is home to a collection of majestic oak trees covered in spanish moss, ferns, and flowering vines. The oak trees loom high over a glittering pond, which is great for swimming during the summer months when the water is high. Tropical fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers decorate our gardens while chickens and goats wander the land. Expect beautiful stars, local wildlife such as owls and chameleons, an outdoor shower, and a "hippie hot tub" powered by a campfire. Sunsets on Flitterbug Farm are truly epic. The land is close to 180 miles of local kayak trails, a 10 minute drive from beautiful walking trails, and about an hour from the beach. We offer a rustic composting toilet, a heated outdoor shower, and a simple outdoor kitchen zone with a sink and stovetop. Note: Flitterbug Farm is in a rural, agricultural part of South Florida. The setting is peaceful, but it’s also alive with the sounds of farm life and wildlife. You may hear roosters, dogs, owls, frogs, and the usual country activity from nearby neighbors. Many guests find the natural soundscape part of the charm, but we want you to know what to expect.

Dragonfly Glade: Tent Camping

95%
(21)
Tent site · Sleeps 6
Dragonfly Glade is a flat, grassy field next to the pond. Camping is open camping, choose your own spot, with options to camp in the shade or in the open field. You can drive your vehicle directly onto the field during dry season (roughly Oct - May), and on a conditional basis during wet season. Steps from the composting toilet, outdoor shower, and basic kitchen, this area offers both shade and convenience. Please note that there may be other campers visible or within earshot, and Trina often stays in a rustic open-air shack that she lovingly maintains. This area leans toward a community "hostel" vibe, though your level of social interaction is totally up to you. There is an option to book our more secluded site on the north side of the property (Mothwing Meadow) if you prefer privacy and don't mind walking a few minutes to the amenities.

My 3 kids and I had such a wonderful experience tent camping for one night! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for a family getaway. The campsite was clean, spacious, and felt safe for the kids to explore. They absolutely loved being surrounded by nature—the perfect place to get away from screens and have some quality unstructured play time. Everything felt manageable even with three little ones in tow. The farm has a quiet rustic charm that makes it easy to unwind and relax around a fire with hot dogs and marshmallows. 5/5

We stayed at Flitterbug Farm at the large 20 person site and it was absolutely perfect. Lots of space to spread out, multiple firepits, views overlooking the pond, a great outdoor shower and kitchen, filtered drinking water, compost toilet, and easily accessible firewood. The brewery and plenty of shops are nearby as well as some nice nature walks like CREWS Marsh Trail. Trina is the best and we plan to come back again!
