Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! All guests must be over the age of 18. My private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. I have 2 horses and lots of local birds hang out here. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the cover. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. There is a restroom/breakfast room off the pool area. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You must arrive by dark. My gates will be closed at dark. At night you will hear coyotes, you might see javilina. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. My place is 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. You will see a lot of quail and other birds on the property. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Each tent, and/or a place where people sleep is a campsite....in other words you can't book 1 tent camping site and then add your friends who come in their vehicle and set up a campsite. That is 2 campsites

Site 5- The Pool House

The Pool House is available for guests who want an inside shelter. It is 10 x 10 with 2 windows and French doors. The windows and doors have privacy blinds and locks. Bring your own bed or let me know you will need a bed and I will have a full size bed set up for you for a $10.00 fee. There is a heater and power. There is room for one cot/air mattress leaving the table and 2 chairs inside, or the table and chairs can easily be removed to accommodate 2 cots/air mattresses. It is close to the restroom and breakfast area and you can enjoy the beautiful pool views. There is an outlet for charging electronics etc. Lighting is desk lamp. The garage has a restroom, hot water, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. No dogs in the pool house. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark.

A beautiful guest room facing the front gardens. This is a guest room inside of my house, Hipcamp doesn't have an option for adding a guest room, I had to choose Cabin for the type of lodging, it's not a cabin. It has a queen-size bed, a vanity with a lighted mirror and tables. The closet has shelves. It sits down the hall from the guest bath. There is a separate entrance door for the guest rooms, that entrance is off the pool area. The guest rooms have a living room adjacent for their use. There is no TV. There is WiFi. I have 2 tabby house cats which came from a rescue in May of this year, 2024. They are inside cats, they are well-mannered. They are yearlings, they play a lot and are very friendly. The cats are not allowed in the guest rooms or guest bath, they have their own room for their stuff. I keep them and their room, and the whole house very clean. Take note if you don't like cats or are allergic. Because of the cats no pets are allowed for guest room guests. Guests staying inside the house can use the laundry, and I will have breakfast coffee and coffee cake available. Please no smoking inside the house. This room is larger than the other room, there is plenty of room for 2 people. You must arrive by dark. My place will be closed at dark.

A beautiful guest room off the pool. This is a guest room inside of my house, Hipcamp doesn't have an option for adding a guest room, I had to choose Cabin for the type of lodging, it's not a cabin. A Private fully fenced 4-acre horse property in Whetstone, AZ, I also own the adjacent 4 acres which is natural. I offer 2 RV spaces with hookups. Power is 50 AMPS! One has room for tents. I have a very clean landscaped property. Lots of bird watching here also. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily as well as Desert Cardinals, Cactus Wrens, Curved Billed Thrashers and song birds. You will hear coyotes at night. You might see javilina, rabbits, maybe a bobcat! The road is also quiet. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise. My property is natural on 3 sides. Looking North, West and South are all-natural views.. 4200 ft elevation. Excellent views. Camping spots are dirt and gravel. Power is 50 AMPS! Please bring an adapter if needed. Tombstone - 20miles (cowboys, 10 or so Wyatt Earps, fake gun fights, saloon girls) Bisbee - 37 miles ( Copper Queen Hotel, old hippies) Sierra Vista - 13 miles (shopping, restaurants. Fort Huachuca) Sonoita - 20 miles (vineyards, fairgrounds, restaurants) Kartchner Caverns - 10 miles (gardens, hiking, big caves, bats) Ramsey Canyon - probably 25 miles, I'm not sure (hiking, views, animals, birds, maybe streams) Summer is our monsoon season, July-September. Be aware that this area gets approx 22" of rain, mostly during summer. Beautiful storms, lots of lightning. It is hot and humid and buggy if it's an above-average monsoon season. June-High 94. Karla's Hummingbird Ranch has additional camping spaces for tents, vehicles etc. that don't require an RV hook-up. I have lots of room. There is a cabana with a firepit for all to use. You may camp there if you like. I have a nice restroom microwave, coffee table and fridge in the garage off the pool area. This is a private 8+ acre horse property with a barn and an arena. The pool area has a pool house for poolside dining. This property is for people who enjoy tranquillity. Dogs must be on a leash. The camping area is dirt. It is quiet and peaceful. Very clean. Solo women campers- this is a safe non-creepy place to camp. My ranch has a friendly/family-style vibe. This is my private property, you and your stuff are safe and secure. You can go exploring for the day and no one will bother your campsite. There is no power out by the cabanas. There is power in the garage and pool area. There is no shower or laundry. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. I have WiFi and great cell service here also. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark. Site 4 is a 16 x 14 tent shelter, there is room inside for a large tent, or you can use it as a bedroom and skip the tent. There is a picnic table, benches and shelves. The front has closeable sunshade curtains. It is lit at night with solar cabana lights which can be shut off for sleep. It's very pretty, it is decorated inside with a western theme. There is hardware inside for a hammock. The outside is handpainted salvage barn wood. I made this cabana myself. Your campsite will have full shelter from weather. You can park your vehicle next to it and camp inside, or you can camp in your vehicle and use the cabana for gathering and dining. Easy walk to the restroom and pool area. I have hotwater and power in the garage restroom area, no shower. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. This cabana does not have power. Music provided by resident birds. Host is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Explains everything well on arrival. It’s a nice lil horse ranch with great sunsets. Pool area is immaculately kept. Bathroom is easily accessible and shower is clean with good water pressure. It is windier down there so we kept a 4 man tent inside. More than enough space to leave the table in and cook still. Great place for stop thru’s or long weekend. Well lit at night if safety is a concern of yours.

Bird watchers visiting Sky Islands

Karla's place is ideally situated for anyone birdwatching in the sky islands region. Karla has a great set up for campers. We used the Cabana which got us out of the wind and parked our camper van next to it which was really convenient. The use of the pool and kitchen area was really handy. Karla is warm and generous and I would highly recommend staying at her place.

Karla met us as we drove on to her property to introduce herself and she immediately made us feel welcome. Once we got our camp set up she showed us around the property. We loved meeting her horses and donkey. Our group had the whole camping area to ourselves. Everything was clean and tidy. The lights around the property in the evening are beautiful. You can tell that Karla has meticulously placed every light, lantern, planter, and decor items. We will definitely return.

Carla‘s ranch was very lovely and she is a host is very friendly and welcoming. Her property is gorgeous and you can tell she’s fit a lot of time and to making it pretty.. very close by or two other RV parks that are just big parking. Lots in the RVs are very close to each other, but you turn into her place in the spaces are wide and open and her price is great as well. I would highly recommend Karla’s Hummingbird Ranch to anyone looking for a unique spot~~

We loved our time at Karla's Hummingbird Ranch. The site was easy to access. The property was phenomenal. Karla was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a weekend of relaxing and exploring. It was the perfect get a way for this teacher to rejuvenate for the final month of school. We hope to visit again soon. This was our first trip with our new camper and we hope there will be many more.

Cowgirl chic!

Karla’s place exceeded our expectations, she has created a comfortable cowgirl chic oasis with lots of fun spaces to hang out. We had dinner in the shaded picnic area every evening, even though it was windy, the shade screens sheltered us. The view of the mountains is wonderful, the pool chilly but refreshing after hiking all day, and after dark the lighting is magical. Bathrooms and showers were clean, she lent us a 50-30 amp converter for our stay. Karla stopped by to see how we were doing but otherwise left us to do our own thing. She’s a wonderful host, hope we can make it back here again next year.

The site is absolutely spotless! Karla met us at the gate and walked us around the property. It is quiet and secluded, although she has 2 cheeky horses nearby. One kicks the stall (see cheeky!) and if youre not familiar with the sound it can be jarring. The whole property is decorated with whimsy and an eye for color. we ended up throwing an air mattress in the cabana instead of hassling with a tent and were quite comfy. Highly recommend.

Perfect getaway in the desert!

This was by far my favorite hip camp I’ve stayed at! Karla was so kind and helpful for anything we needed. I went with a good friend and we both felt so safe staying here. Karla also accommodated great when we had to leave early and when we were getting back to her place late. We are 100% going back!

Such a wonderful experience! I'll explain. . . I was recovering from both a pelvic fracture and vertebrae fracture. I wasn't sure I would be able to set up my tent etc. Karla was so kind and helpful. I slept in a horse stall and had a wonderful peaceful rest. The property is so well kept. Nice bathroom with hot water. Next morning Karla recommended I see The San Pedro Riparian Conservation Area . Thank you Karla for sharing your lovely home.

As advertised and reviewed, this is a fantastic spot for a couple days or more, amenities were very nice, very clean. Host is knowledgeable of the area, communicates well and ensures all guests feel welcome. I’ll definitely visit again, highly recommend if you are in the area.

Karla created a funky and comfortable little haven in the desert. Her care for people and her artistic flair as well as her handiness are obvious and a delight. She’s kind, peaceful, friendly and helpful. It’s glamping at its best. We stayed in the shelter and enjoyed being shielded from the winds and having plenty of space to cook and a little kitchen space to do dishes.

Great spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We had a stormy night with extreme winds and rain, and her shelter was perfect for us! Karla is very kind and helpful, and has created an excellent space and vibe for travelers. Highly recommended!
