Description

Staying at Woodford Campground on the east side of the Illinois River is a super-easy way to get in some fishing, hunting or hiking while enjoying the easygoing vibe of beautiful wooded bottomlands. Illinois may not have the impressive mountain vistas of some other places, but some of these little backwater areas have a certain dense stillness about them that you just can’t find anywhere else. Picnicking on the river can be a downright luxurious pastime, and you'll amuse yourself by spotting little furry critters and waterfowl. You might even glimpse a bald eagle or two!
