Hill Terrace Cabin Three
We had an amazing time. The river was beautiful with lots of chairs, games and kayak’s available to use. Great swimming hole. The house is a step back in time with all the antiques and cute crafts. It was stocked with so much. The shower is very small and outdated but we didn’t care. The location and house were perfect for us. There was plenty of room for our party of 4. Glen is the best host. He gives great instructions. We will be back.

Absolutely perfect location with a sloping lawn going down to the river. Lots of shade by the river and access to kayaks. The house was rustic but with all the comforts of home, and just what we wanted. We will definitely rent this house again.

Glen kindly drove us and our kayaks up river and returned our truck to base, really helped us out. Cool weather and river was beautiful. Saw no one! Great. Had whole river to ourselves. Caught some Guadalupe bass, biggest 16" Had a very nice time!

We stayed in cabin 3 at cup grass for the 2023 solar eclipse and had a great experience! We’ll be back with our friends next time.
Overall the cabin is rustic but kept very clean, there were no bugs or other critters in the cabin or in the screen room. The bathroom was clean and was served by a tankless (unlimited) water heater. There was air conditioning throughout the cabin and room to sleep 9.
Glenn was our host and was very attentive, he made sure we had everything we needed and was always available via text.
The kitchen had a full-size fridge/freezer and sink. The stove was 4 burner, and there was a washer dryer combo in the cabin.
The deck overlooked the property and the S Llano river. There were gas and propane bbq pits, outdoor table and chairs, and a gas fire pit table, all kept in good condition.
By the river there were steps into the river and a lighted common area. There was a basket ball hoop and kayaks. Glen took us upriver and dropped us off for a 2 hour kayak trip, he provided the kayaks, life jackets and paddles. The trip had a few small rapids, but was pretty easy, the water was clear and cool, and was waist deep in most spots.
At night the sky is very dark, there were so many stars, probably the most my kids had ever seen at once. I’d recommend you bring a telescope if you have one, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a fun weekend getaway. I will definitely be back, and recommending cabin 3 to my friends.

Our stay at this cabin was a nostalgic encounter with the summers of my childhood. The cabin was quaint—it’s clearly seen better days and looks like it was furnished by my grandmother in the 70s/80s. My one big qualm with it was the bathroom—the shower was very snug. But that aside, it very much reminded me of my family’s old ranch house, built for a simpler time when days were spent mostly outdoors. It had everything you could need in the kitchen, and a gas powered fire pit on the porch. The sleeping porch was a nice place to hang out in the afternoon, and sleeping there was actually fairly pleasant at night (I just wouldn’t plan to cuddle.) The bedrooms had just enough space to bunk for the night.
The property itself was pretty. The scenery by the river was beautiful, and the river access was convenient. The stairs to get down to the river were a bit steep. Adult supervision is definitely necessary for children. The river was still deep even in the middle of a summer dry spell. It’s perfect for a kayak ride or just hanging out in floaties. There’s not a good place to sit in the edge of the river however. But there are plenty of chairs and equipment waiting for you on the hill just above the bank—it’s a nice place to relax, have a picnic, or watch wildlife in the evening.
Glen was also super responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for a couple or family looking for a simple and rustic outdoor getaway.

The house is comfortable and roomy enough for our 6 person family. We really enjoy activities on the river, good fishing, easy access for our paddle boards and kayaks. Glen is very attentive and helpful.

Glen was a fantastic host. Cupgrass was just what we needed. The Main Farmhouse is perfectly appointed, well located to the surrounding activities and was exactly what we needed for our group.
Kids loved the water, animals and kayaks. I couldn’t have ask for a better experience. I would recommend Glen and Cuprass to anyone who is looking to get away and really enjoy Texas Hill Country.

Cupgrass Cabins: The Farmhouse
The Cupgrass Farmhouse is quite lovely. It is very spacious and lovingly decorated with artifacts and collected items. Hummingbirds swarming around the feeders, momma cow and her baby in the field and roaming chickens added to the charm. Wildflowers and budding cactus were beautiful. We had 14 children and 13 adults gather there for dinners and were very comfortable. (We had other cabins also for sleeping). The little ones caught and released their first fish, fed and petted the cows and loved the chickens. Glen is an excellent host. this is a well kept property and I would highly recommend a stay there.

Glen’s place was PERFECT for my family to meet up with my parents & brother for a few days. The house is the perfect size and has everything you need and then some. The land is AMAZING, and the River access is absolutely perfection. Our 3 year old boy referred to it as “our Junction house”. Glen is super accommodating and helpful in anything you need. He even helped me with a weird technical issue I had with the booking. If you need a get away, we couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Spending a relaxing weekend on the river makes time stand still. We had such a good time enjoying our meals on the screened back porch, reading a book while watching the chickens scratch in the grass, and seeing the moon and stars away from city lights. We can't wait to visit Cupgrass again soon!

The setting is beautiful, rugged TX on a river. Perfectly maintained. There were kayaks which we enjoyed & fly fished from right here.The cabin is old and adorable, decorated with antiques and beautiful florals. It’s October and it was so cool. The breeze got cold at night and kept us comfortable all day. Birds came in— flock of scissor tails.

Cupgrass Cabins: The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse was a great home base for our group! The layout was awesome and there was more than enough space, including bathrooms, for our party of 8 high school girls and 12 of their parents. We took day-long float trips, but the house was a great place to come back to for preparing meals and playing lots of cards and dominoes.

Cupgrass Cabins: The Farmhouse
The close proximity of the river made this a perfect vacation for me and my 3 teenage grandsons. We hiked, swam, fished and kayaked. It was wonderful for them and I got to spend the early mornings while they slept journaling, drinking tea and watching the hummers. I can’t wait to make this a yearly memory making trip!

I'm actually torn--yes, the Farmhouse is a lovely, homey, place in a perfect location on the South Llano River. There is easy access to the river for paddling (kayaks available) or swimming. Or you can drive up the road for a longer paddle that is just right for a morning of fishing, birding and loafing on crystal clear water--with brief interludes of small rapids and riffles. Glen is a good river steward and is creating and protecting stream side habitat. Really a perfect place.
But do I really want anyone else to know about this place? Selfishly we'd like to keep it to ourselves! I can't wait to go back. Thank you Glen!

Cupgrass Cabins: The Farmhouse
My family of both adults and small children are sold on the Farmhouse. The house itself is updated with modern kitchen, tall ceilings, large rooms, washer/dryer and a front porch that sports hummingbird feeders. The river is a short walk or drive with steps leading down. There are access points for kayaks very close to the property. I can’t say enough for the hospitality of the host, Glen. He lets you have your privacy but gets back with you promptly if you have questions. We stayed 5 days and between our trips to Fredericksburg and Kerrville (each about an hour away) we still had plenty of time for itty bitties to play at the State Park (6 miles from house) and for the adults to do a lot of porch sitting even in the heat.
