Wildwood State Park
This state park sits along Long Island Sound and provides a city getaway, year round. wintertime cross-country trails and summertime hiking and biking are sure to shake off your city troubles.
Wander through miles of hiking trails and then cool off in the waters of the sound. If you’re hitting the beach, we recommend bringing sandals. There are small pebbles that are hard on bare feet! Ticks are also active for parts of the year so don’t forget your bug repellent.
Trailer and tent sites are available. If you want a bit more luxury, stay in one of the newly built cottages. Each one has space for up to six people and includes a full kitchen and screened porch (perfect to watch a sunrise from). Ditch the greasy pizza and expensive cab rides; you’ve got all you need and more at Wildwood.
