We are located 4 miles from Routt National Forest. You'll arrive at the ranch headquarters and we will either take you to the sheep wagon or give you directions to it. The sheep wagon is nestled in an Aspen grove (on 56 acres) with a creek just 12 feet away. From there, you are 1/4 mile away from the national forest and the wilderness. There are thousands of acres to explore, either by hiking , biking or horseback riding. You are also just minutes away from great trout fishing lakes and streams. While here ask about ranch tours and visiting with our sheep, horses, cows and chickens! There will be cattle or sheep on the property with the sheep wagon. Please note that cell phone service is very limited in the area.

This is a perfect retreat! Chas and Gail have made sure you have everything you need for a comfortable off-grid experience. The property is spectacular, the other guests were quiet and considerate, and the amenities are perfect. Because the cabin runs on solar, if you are a “coffee first thing” person, you may want to consider bringing a jetboil or similar, but that’s not necessary. Truly a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the quiet!

This campsite had everything! It had probably the cleanest porta potty we have ever seen. It had a grill, a beautiful campfire that we roasted marshmallows on, and it has a working sink, which is amazing! I had plenty of sites to put up tents with shade as well as it had a hammock and a hanging tree swing, which was lovely. The property itself is beautiful. It had all kinds of unusual rock, formations, and plenty of area to exercise your dog if you brought one. I highly recommend a booking!!!

We absolutely love this Hipcamp property, which is obvious because this is our 6th time here in the past 4 years! The site is peaceful and the scenery can't be beat. Add to that an immaculately maintained property by the nicest hosts you'll ever meet. We'll be back, of course. It's a perfect place to stay for one night if you're traveling through, but you'll wish you stayed longer.

Very cool place. The cabin was very comfortable for 2 people and 2 dogs. There is another cabin and campsite on the property but still felt private. Surrounded by Wyoming state land which was walking distance from the cabin. Can’t recommend the place enough. Will stay again if passing through the area.

Do not miss a chance to stay here!!! I enjoyed one night in the South Crow Cabin while driving across country. I wish I had planned at least two nights. The cabin was cozy inside and out, incredible views for sunrise and sunset from the porch and plenty of land to explore. Book it!!

We absolutely loved our time here. The spot is peaceful and private. The shelter is very nice. The bathroom is clean and wonderful to have for camping. Great bird watching. We also saw a big buck. Right across the road is access to state land. Beautiful canyon views. Great state park nearby for hiking and water fun. Great national forest one exit down with another gem of a hike. Burford only had a gas station and it’s limited so stock up before heading out. Cheyenne and Laramie are both relatively close for meals or if you forget something. The stargazing was spectacular. The hosts were warm and welcoming. They took great care to keep us stocked in the extra orders and shared useful information about the local area that led to some stunning hikes. Can’t say enough about this gem.

This is our second visit to this Hipcamp location. We enjoyed it very much and would like to return again next year. We did have two dogs visit us on the second night. We were informed by our neighbors that they are the working dogs of the owner and that there is a sign posted with the notice they roam around. They seem very sweet and friendly. It was quite disruptive for us, unfortunately. Our dog didn't care for the visitors so we had to keep an eye out for their return all evening and put her in the camper right away to avoid issues. The dogs kept trying to eat the food from our table as well. Again, seemed very sweet but made the second night a little hectic for us. If we didn't have a dog they really wouldn't have been a bother.

Rock, Rock, Rockaway Camp! You can hitch a ride to Rockaway and you won’t regret it. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this brand new listing and it did not disappoint! Brenda & Jason have an incredible piece of land and have set up a great space for true solitude. They have a single campsite, it is quite large and perfectly tucked into the trees. The site includes 2 picnic tables, a large dining table w/umbrella, 2 hammocks, a propane grill, and even a nice large sink with running water. If that’s not enough, they have a very clean & large portable toilet at the other end of the site. They supply the firewood and even a hose to put out your fire. Also as another bonus, the property has enough of a signal to be in contact with them and they were great at communication. The entire property is surrounded by incredible ancient rock formations which they were kind enough to let me explore a bit as long as you stay inside the property lines of course. If you’re looking to get away from the crowded campsites with loud and rude neighbors, this is exactly what you’re looking for. We loved it, and plan to book again.

Absolutely gorgeous property and views! All three sites have been beautifully built and well maintained/cleaned. Took the whole extended family and stayed at all three sites. Everyone had a great time! Chas was super friendly and helpful—brought an extra propane fire pit to the campsite in lieu of a campfire. During the day you can see a ton of wildlife (humming birds, deer, bluebirds, hawks) and at night, the skies are dark and filled with stars. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

Welcome to our property! This is a very scenic property, that is rich with history. The Virginia Dale Stage Station is about three miles away and the overland trail has several branches going through here. We are also a fifth generation cattle ranch.  We are in Wyoming, on Highway 287 between Fort Collins, CO. and Laramie, Wyoming. We are still building out our property with a General store, and Western Themed Town coming soon. We have campsites for RV’s or Tents. We have an amazing 1000 acres to have your own hiking, wildlife, birdwatching, adventure. We have great hiking and wildlife viewing, marmots, pronghorn, antelope, deer, elk, and an occasional moose. Birds of every feather gather here so bring your binoculars. Hikes include balancing boulders and rock formations. Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull!Firewood, for $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite.   The bags make a great trash bag when empty! Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds.  Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. We have portable outhouses available.

Site's 10 11 12 13 14 15 are perfect for families, where you can all be together but separate. We are a work in progress but we will try to accommodate anything you may need. Please talk to us! We have firewood $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite. Do not bring your own firewood. We don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to our north), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything.
