What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain. Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking. The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure! I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. 1 night at Meadowcroft Riverfront Cabin

Awesome little place even if it's snowing. Snow on the ground and the little rocket stove was great because we had no heat in the vehicle! Beautiful stream and the bathroom facilities are always a bonus even if outdoors. Everything was clean and inviting. The host was very responsive and had lots of ready to burn wood for sale.

So calming and a good place to sleep! We were just spending the night but would be a great place to spend a weekend. Sweet cats greet you, also ducks and chickens. Fridge, microwave, and coffee pot available. Enclosed bathroom with shower and toilet inside. Great little diner down the road! Just be advised there is no signal there or the surrounding area. The wifi works well for the TV but not great for cellphones.

My friends and I had a great time at Cabin 3! The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin can comfortably fit more than four people and still has plenty of space to move around. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean. It’s the best place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good company. Highly recommend!

4 nights at W.T. Farm?

I'm so glad we stayed here. This was such an incredible place it really feels like a hidden treasure. Incredible views EVERYWHERE. We came here specifically for the stars and milky way, which were amazing, but the fall colors really stole the show. This was the most wildflowers I've ever seen! Goldenrod in every direction. We were also completely alone here and there's plenty to explore. This is our new favorite place!

Awesome spot on the river! Like camping only we stayed dry, cool, and connected (wifi). Traffic sounds can be loud at times given the location to the road but we soon tuned it out.

Nice little cabin on the rivers edge. Not hard to find, and despite the steep driveway my little car did just fine. Close to the New River Gorge National Park (all the visitor centers were within an hour drive) which was our main focus for our visit so that was perfect.

Weekend Trip to Camp Holly

Just what we needed! The cabin was well stocked and tidy, and the owners were so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean and updated. Our group booked a tent site and a cabin. The kids swam in the pond all day! We kayaked and used paddle boards. The stream behind us was so peaceful and we even hung out and kept cool in it. The sites are well shaded so we weren’t too hot. There is a local general store within walking distance that has just about anything you forgot! We are hoping to come back next year.

Great spot on the Meadow River. It was myself, my mom and kids. The kids slept outside in tents and me, mom and my niece slept inside the little cabin. There was plenty of room for us in there and the added bonus of AC was really nice! Fridge and microwave came in handy too. We were prepared for roughing it but were happy to not really have to do it all the way! Porta potty was very clean and not that bad.

Outstanding cabin. Has everything you could need - clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable. The view is great, and the location is great - and quiet. Tony was very responsive to questions. Highly recommended. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed by staying here.
