We camped in our RV at the Lavender Farm and had the best time! It’s perfectly located, just 30 minutes from Portland and close to a plethora of hikes, and the wide open areas surrounding the farm gave us plenty of space to walk our dogs! The bathrooms were clean, and the paved lot gave us ample room for our RV. We would absolutely recommend a stay here!

This hipcamp is everything — it’s beyond cute, it’s in a good location, it has all the major amenities, and has the warmest host. We felt so safe here and so creative. The size was perfect for two people and one tiny dog, and it’s obvious that a great deal of care has been integrated into every detail of this airstream.

Ed went above and beyond to help us out with an electric cord to use so we could have electricity. The rv spot is flat and on gravel, so no muddy paws on our Pooch. Plus the resident farm dogs, Maverick and Lucy are just wonderful and so gentle. The rolling green views are magnificent and the stars at night, look close enough to touch. Our family had such a great time on the river. Even though we got some rain everyday we put our paddle boards in the water from the dock and played. The river is super peaceful and you get to see and hear lots of birds. We lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves even. Really nice to have the provided Adirondack chairs for around the campfire and watching the river too. Hosts were always very quick to respond and helpful. Road and property clean, well maintained and so was the port-o-potty on site. We even visited their horses to say hello for change of scene one afternoon. Mostly though we relaxed in the camp area and enjoyed the river. Will return for sure.

Quiet, clean, and a great view of the stars. Saw a few cats, deer, and many horses on the drive-in. I watched a beautiful sunset and the harvest moon! Very little light pollution, so the stars were very visible. The stay was so peaceful and quiet. There was hose and a 50amp to 30amp adapter waiting for me when I arrived, such a nice touch. I would highly recommend a stay at the Lavender field.

The land was beautiful! It was the perfect basecamp for where we wanted to go. We stayed for 4 nights. We will definitely be back! If you have dogs, beware the inviting-looking big open fields-lots of blackberry vines with thorns. There weren’t any stickers or burrs though. The 3 sites are pretty close together. If you’re in site 3, make sure you have a very long hose to empty gray water. The drive up to the property is fairly steep so make sure your stuff is secured in your trailer! The only negative was no black tank disposal even though I checked the filter for sewage hookup.

Firewood was available for purchase when we booked so the bundles were there waiting for us by the pit upon arrival. When you first pull into the ranch there is a huge barn with stalls for horses. We made some equine friends. The camps are down a rough road to the right- our little Mazda made it, but go slow. Each of the 5 lovely spots are directly next to the river. I love that they are spaced far enough apart that you feel like you have space. There is a privacy hedge between them all. I stayed at 5, but they all looked great. 3 and 4 were a bit smaller but still completely doable for a couple tents. 1 & 2 were rented out to a large family gathering and they were having a blast on the rope swing over there. Those spots are perfect for a group. There is a nice community spot in the middle with little kiddos life jackets and some paddles for the couple of community kayaks. I took a jaunt down the river one afternoon and saw some beautiful cranes. Fresh flowers on the table, and little stack of wood greeted us. It was really peaceful to watch the wildlife and listen to the frogs and owls at night. It felt safe and wholesome. Nobody ever came to check in on us, which was kind of nice, everybody just minding their own. It is a working family owned ranch and they were busy with bringing in the hay which we got to see. I wish I’d have gone on a horse ride, but maybe next time. I would definitely go again.

The property is 17 acres of enchanted forestland with 300ft of Sandy River frontage. Both sides of the river are part of the Enchanted Forest. Please note that all campsites are not accessible by vehicle and do involve a short walk from the parking area. Margaux is a 1969 Airstream Bambi tucked into a quiet garden in PDX. She may be small, but she’s full of light, charm, and nostalgia.
