We’ve had this property in my family for over 30 years and it is been a potato farm, a cattle ranch, and a Lumber-mill site. We built our cabin from scratch from 47 tamarack large trees on our property. This is a very rustic and remote log cabin situated on 120 acres that is adjacent to DNR state land. It is primarily forested and teaming with wildlife. The cabin is about 4000 feet in elevation on Lemonasky Mountain just 1 mile below and an historical fire look-out. It is perched on top of a beautiful large meadow with a 50 mile view that has wonderful sunrises and sunsets.

There was originally a camper parked here with a roof over it while the main house was built back in th 1970s. When the home was finished the camper was moved out and it was turned into the cabin. It originally had a wood stove but it was always to hot so we replaced it with an electric heater and at the same time remodeled the interior. It is very comfortable for two to three people as it only has the bunk beds, microwave, small closet and dining table with 4 chairs including a rocker and a cabinet with pots, pans and silverware for your convenience. Learn more about this land: Country cabin is on the treeline at the base of O'tool mt. across the street from Lk. Roosevelt. Includes bunk beds, frig, microwave, hot plate, coffee pot, toaster, dining table, small closet, firepit with firewood and horseshoe pits with shoes. One mile to boat launch. Ten miles to nearest loaf of bread. Close to logging roads. You will have aprox. one acre to yourself. Quiet and secluded. We are close by if ever there is anything you need. Recently we were very close to the Crown Creek fire and a hotshot crew came and "prept" our property and cut down a lot of the underbrush therefore changing the landscape around the cabin so the main picture has changed to the current one.

Please consider this luxurious tent camping as there is no heat source in the hut, no electricity or running water. Please bring lanterns, flashlights, headlamps etc. The futon is a queen size and I can provide sheets and bedding but prefer you bring your own if possible as we have no laundry facilities on the ranch. ***There is a very limited supply of potable water on the property so you are required to pack in your drinking and cooking water. Washing and shower water is provided.*** In the early spring and late fall we cover the screened walls of the hut with clear window plastic so that the nights are not very cold inside the screen house. We provide a propane buddy heater that is safe for indoor use to help keep the space warm for you!! A hot water shower with equally impressive views is close to the straw house but still as private as you need it to be. Once owned by the Lael family (whom the road is named after), this land supported lots of horses in it's past. The Lael family homsteaded this area, raising horses on their acerage and the original Lael house is still standing on the lower section of the property. Old and beautiful apple, plum, cherry and pear trees still thrive in the orchard they planted along with massive willow trees. I'm honored to continue the Lael's love for the equine with my own herd of horses. Horseback riding is available upon request and for an additional fee of $75 per person for a ride.

Trumpkinland Farm is part of what used to be an old dairy owned by one of the original settlers in this area. It is set in a rolling valley, surrounded by hills, mountains, and heavy forest. Come camp with your tent or self contained RV in our private woods or meadows and enjoy our wild and domestic friends, too, in the beautiful, magical inland northwest!  You can have total privacy, and yet be a short walk from the main farm and a short drive to local natural attractions. There are trails to explore in almost all directions. Some camping sites can be driven to, primarily in the upper meadow, depending on your vehicle. If choosing to be deeper in the woods,  tent camping will work best in most spots, with a carry it in and park either in the meadow or down by the farm proper. If you are tent camping, don't forget a good pad under your sleeping bag! The ground is hard, uneven, and in some places rocky! As this property is also a farm, if you run short of food supplies, or want to buy some of what is produced right here on the farm, there are many options for that! From the gardens to wild fruit foraging, farms are all about food. Farms, camping, and the woods are also about relaxing. In this cannabis friendly state, if you choose to really RELAX, please relax respectfully. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this cabin . It was littlery everything i was looking for , for our adventure together. Our two dogs loved it to . There was a recent snow so it was like a winter wonderland , time went so slow on top of the mountain which made it even better. They have all of the basic camping kitchen supplies multiple beds, plenty of firewood and acres to explore. When we had a question joy was really quick with responding and kind. Overall we would defenatly come back to stay again in the winter.

My bf and I celebrated our anniversary this November at Joy's cabin. At first I considered moving our trip to the spring, but I *so loved* being in the wind and rain in a cozy cabin indoors. The remote location is absolutely magical. I would definitely try to get to the cabin before dark; barring that, make sure to have multiple offline versions of the directions: 1) Google Maps directions and map screenshots to the destination, and 2) Joy's written directions. She was very proactive and communicative via satellite phone when we were lost at night. Thanks again Joy for trusting us with your family's private home.

We had a great time at the cabin. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing from the view off of the porch. We had the wood stove going and made the cabin nice and cozy. We will definitely be wanting to get back up there.

Super sweet couple; and the land/view is amazing. I misunderstood the RV site situation and kinda booked the wrong one but they were accomading and helped fix it. The property is so peaceful and we even walked down the road to see the cows and sunset. We would love to come back with a group since they have spots all backed up to another and you could have a nice community fire. 💛 thank you for a wonderful stay!

Really lovely cabin! Cozy, comfortable, and super easy to settle into with everything you need on hand. Perfect spot to relax and recharge. Putting water through the filter worked out perfectly, the stove was nice and cozy, and even the cows made for some entertaining "wildlife" viewing!

What a delightful stay we had at the Meadow Cabin. Our 4 night, 5 day stay was exactly what we needed. The fact that there is no wifi or cell service was a total blessing! The cabin is a great place to disconnect from the noise and I was able to relax deeply and reconnect with myself and my wife. I smiled more. Slept more. Rested more. Took gentle, ambling walks. I actually read for almost a whole day and ended up finishing an amazing 900+ page book—something I haven't done in years. Our dogs loved it! Watching the cows was like a meditation. The colors and the weather shifted and changed throughout our stay, with a downpour with hail clearing much of the smoke from a southerly fire. So peaceful. The peace and quiet at the Meadow Cabin seems a rarity these days. We will definitely be back. It is an inspiring stay for sure.

My sister and I absolutely loved it here! My dog as well. We spent most of the time on the porch. Was great to drink wine with a relaxing beautiful view. I expected it to be cold inside in the morning, but the cabin kept in the heat without needing to start a fire. My family grew up in a place like this, so it brought back so many great memories. This is a place I’ll come back to.

Tom and Krystal were so welcoming and had everything ready when we arrived. There was a guide that included the fire danger level, local history, and recommendations for nearby areas to explore. The spot itself felt wonderfully secluded with the exception of a friendly chipmunk who came to visit.

I really enjoyed spending the night here. The spot is packed gravel and flat. I had the place to myself so it was quiet and dark. And they offer wi-fi! I would have stayed another night if my rig was setup to handle staying in one place during the heat wave. But I’ll definitely stay again if I’m in the area. Thanks Bryan and Colleen!

Fantastic spot for tent camping! Our site was a beautiful little glen, surrounded by trees, with a babbling brook running at the edge. The ground is flat and mostly level, so it worked well for our 10 person tent. Because of Red Flag conditions, we didn't get to use it, but Warner had a fire pit and wood already at the site. There was a large cable spindle that functioned as a good size table. The site has a little trail that leads back into the woods for a relaxing hike if you want. Warner provides an indoor bathroom and potable water from an artesian well, just yards from the "entrance" to our site. There was even a super friendly cat that would stroll through to say 'Hi' once in awhile. It was a fantastically beautiful and relaxing place to spend a long weekend.

3 nights at Lakeside Getaway At Spectacle Lake

My family, and I throughly enjoyed camping on their peaceful land. My biggest regret was not staying here for our whole trip. Peace, and quiet, and the ability for our kids to run and get energy out when needed. The photos don’t do the area justice. The amenities were well taken care of, and exactly as described. I have already recommended the location to our neighbors looking for a similar experience of a place to swim, peace and quiet.

The Lazy C campground was a spectacular way to end our family roadtrip. The space is clean and well kept up. Site #3 has water and electric hookups (sewer is optional for extra charge). The water line appears to run from site #2 so make sure the valve is open over there. I didn't understand why our water wasn't on until I figured that out. Beautiful views of the area and the outhouse is very clean. Pretty good wifi was available at our site.

How amazing to wake up and breathe in the tranquil morning air in this country setting! Meeting Bryan and Colleen was like reuniting with old friends; they were SO personable and welcoming. They’ve worked hard to provide all the amenities a Hipcamper could possibly want, even “arranging” visits from deer and an owl! We had an absolutely amazing stay at Lazy C Campground! From the moment we arrived, Bryan and Colleen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their hospitality was warm and genuine, and they generously offered us a beautiful RV spot which made our trip feel even more special. The location is perfect—right off Highway 20 with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. It truly felt like a hidden gem. We were constantly surrounded by nature, with plenty of deer wandering through the area, and an owl, which added such a magical touch to our morning and evening. Our site was spacious, clean, and had full hookups, which made settling in super convenient. We loved gathering around the shared fire pit—it was a great way to unwind. The on-site bathroom was well-maintained and easily accessible, and to top it all off, the WiFi signal was strong and reliable—a rare and much-appreciated bonus for a campground! Lazy C offered the perfect mix of comfort, natural beauty, and small-town hospitality. Whether you’re just passing through or planning a longer stay, I can’t recommend this place enough. The only complaint we had is that we couldn’t stay longer. But we’ll be back!! Thank you, Bryan and Colleen, for making our time at Lazy C so memorable—we’ll definitely be back!
