We stayed at Wandering Joy for 4 nights, and I am so glad we did! Erin was so nice, came and chatted with us and shared information about the land. The campground was easy to find, and very close to Lake Crescent. The campsites are cozy and just the right size for 2 people. The porta potties were spotless, and the campground was quiet and peaceful. We saw little critters and stargazed, followed a trail in camp through an old growth forest, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Erin!

It’s absolutely perfect. The in a beautiful area, clean campgrounds, and the cleanest porta potty’s I’ve ever used ! It’s about 10 mins from the absolutely amazing and beautiful Crescent Lake and about 30 mins from town if you need any last minute supplies, but there is also a General store directly next to the campground. The sites are perfect, wonderful area for your tent(s) and equipped with a picnic table and fire pit!! I absolutely cannot wait to stay here again.

Loved tent camping here! The location and site were easy to find, very spacious and clean, large site, with new gravel and wood chipping. The portapotties were a short walk and the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Beautiful ferns and trees surrounded our camp. Great location for Olympic NP.

Sites 0 and 1 are great! Site 0 has a covered wood tent platform. Site 1 is the largest site, with room for 2 tents. The wood shaving tent pads are terrific. The porta potties are immaculate. There is a small market just past the entry to Wandering Joy from 101. We enjoyed the proximity to Lake Crecent and swam there every afternoon The only downsides to Wandering Joy are: No potable water and noise from nearby hwy 101.

The campsite was secluded and gorgeous and the host who visited is was so friendly, even after our late arrival. She pointed out some great little trails to check out and even dropped off a gift. It was nice and close to the lake and near a general store, making everything super convenient.

We had a fantastic stay at site 6 and would love to come back! Erin was so welcoming and friendly and puts sooo much love and care into the campsites and forest. The porta potties were also the cleanest I've every used! The sites all have beautiful thick foliage around them so feel private. I was a tiny bit concerned that the sites looked close to the main road on the map but the sites are set back enough and really feel in the woods that we didn't notice traffic noise at all. We loved our stay so much and highly recommend Wandering Joy!

We loved staying here it was so much fun! The campsite was clean and didn’t feel too close to the other lots which was nice. The cleanest porta potties I have ever seen and a couple really cool trails we could access from the site and the lake was only a 5-20 minute drive away depending on what end of it you wanted to go to. Already planning our next trip back!

Found one of my new fav camping spots! Will def be making my way back here at least once every camping season. I was lucky to bump into Erin and chat about the campgrounds and she shared about how intentional they are with the sites and the impact they’re making in the area. She also left me with the cutest souvenir! I felt well informed so that I was prepared for my trip and have never felt so safe while solo camping. Highly recommend!

Camping on Erin’s land was a great experience overall. The directions to the site were very clear, the 3 campsites we booked were plenty for our group of 9 and the porta potties were by far the cleanest porta potties we’ve ever used! We ended up going to the Lodge for our showers after being at the lake all day which was 10 min away. Great spot to camp if you want to go to Lake Crescent, we would definitely stay there again!

This was our first time with Hip Camp. it won’t be our last. Erin was a lovely host. We stayed for 6 days and had the forest to ourselves most of the time. Situated 7 min from Crescent Lake, it was an ideal spot to explore in any direction of Olympic National Park. We can’t wait to stay again.

Amazing camp! absolutely clen, well maintained, easy to access, we camped on site 8, lots of space, fire pit, near to toilets. Toilets were extraordinary - like for real. It was brand new and super clean, no smell. You can hear cars from the main road during the day, but it was quiet during the night, the traffic is close to zero. Great location to explore lake Crescent, 20 mins to Port Angeles. We will be back for sure! thank you

The campsite/ground was gorgeous and very well kept! I mean honestly those were the most spotless porta potties I’ve ever seen. As for location it’s right off the main road but you can barely hear it but you’ve still got amazing access to lake Cresent and Port Angeles (best of both worlds). Absolutely lovely place to stay :)

This campsite was exceptional! Great space for tent with pit for campfires and table. Best part was it was quiet with plenty of shade throughout the day. They had the cleanest portable potties I’ve ever seen. Kate was the most welcoming host providing us with information about the area. I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone visiting the area. Surrounded by several beautiful hikes and attractions. We will be returning soon

This is a great campground, right in the heart of all of the best activities on the peninsula. Space 11 is private and spacious, and the trails on the property and beyond are great. The port a potties were incredibly clean . Kate was an amazing host, and she went above and beyond when we had a difficult moment. Would definitely return!
