The camp area is spacious and can easily accommodate your family and even a couple of friends. Scattered trees offer shade, and large grassy areas provide ample space to roam.
Rusty Ranch Tree Farm is dedicated to "Eduction through Exploration" where we strive to provide your family and friends with more than just camping but also a place to experience nature and learn about forestry, farming and making maple syrup from trees right here on our farm..
Hike the several miles of nature trails on the hillside and explore our 65 acres of certified forest. Placards on the nature trail are part of our self-guided tour and provide information about forestry and the plants and animals that call this their home. Wander through the old growth groves, walk the 50' boardwalk and see the magical Fern Ridge. There are abundant wildflowers and seasonal berries to pick, as well as a variety of fall apples and pears in the old orchard available for self harvest. You can even purchase a tree to take home and plant.
Other farm experiences include a guided interactive nature tour for your group, a class on making maple syrup, or experience farm life and "hang with the hens." We also offer the opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables brought to your site. Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. Our property is
located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea. Camp closed during winter October/ march

A 35 acre family farm on the North fork of the Skagit River outside of La Conner Washington. The Glamp Ground is located on a 1 acre overlook above the farm.
Includes sleeping space for up to 4 guests, fire pit (outside of burn ban season), propane grill, stove, and picnic tables. Sleeping structures - convertible gazebo/wall tent with a queen size bed/daybed/couch, and hippie dome with foam rug and 3 foam filled wool blankets to build a second bed. Additional space for 4 extra guests with tents you provide. One van/camper permitted, we do not provide space for RV’s over 25 feet. No showers. Restroom facilities are a short walk from the Glamp Ground behind our farm stand.
$50 Cleaning Fee – includes linens, pillows, and additional blankets for our two onsite structures. As well as propane and garbage removal of the onsite rubbish container. Guests are expected to leave the site as they found it with all garbage contained in the site bin and all farm stand items returned to the farm stand.
Additional non-exclusive guest access to a 3 acre pond picnic field, walking paths, livestock barn, and our farm stand. There is also a boat launch at the end of the property operated by our neighbor with a $10 fee for use. Please bring your own paddle boards, canoes, kayaks and small motor boats if you would like to use the launch, there is no rented watercraft available. There is no swimming or lingering at the boat launch.
Pets – Dogs on leash are welcome. Guests should understand that we raise sheep, cattle, pigs, and fowl on the property and any pet that becomes a nuisance could result in our having to end your visit without returned fees. It is important to note that we have a ranging farm dog, Stella, with access to the full property and she often finds her way to the Glamp Ground on her rounds. Stella is a sweetheart, (unless you are a racoon), she doesn’t start fights, but if your dog is prone to aggressive behavior it is best to reach out before booking. Stella is safe with children and respectful, but she has a job to do on the farm and her access is not limited.

The Gem is a beautiful tiny home in a cozy setting in the woods. It has a semi private drive. Hiking trails through the woods, with a glimpse of Church mountain out the door and just a jaunt to Cornell creek. Bodigers bond across the street and the Mt. Baker/Snoqualamie national forest right out your front door. It's a 1/4 mile from Glacier, Wa and 17 miles from the Mt. Baker ski area. Please note, this cabin accommodates 3 people. I will allow 5 but there is not beds for 5 people. 2 people are welcome to sleep in a tent under the poll barn. There is an additional charge for the 2 extra people. We don't allow dogs in the Gem at this time. Feel free to check out our other cabins on the same property. The Nook and The LTC both allow dogs.

A 35 acre family farm on the North fork of the Skagit River outside of La Conner Washington. The Glamp Ground is located on a 1 acre overlook above the farm.
Includes sleeping space for up to 4 guests, fire pit (outside of burn ban season), propane grill, stove, and picnic tables. Sleeping structures - convertible gazebo/wall tent with a queen size bed/daybed/couch, and hippie dome with foam rug and 3 foam filled wool blankets to build a second bed. Additional space for 4 extra guests with tents you provide. One van/camper permitted, we do not provide space for RV’s over 25 feet. No showers. Restroom facilities are a short walk from the Glamp Ground behind our farm stand.
$50 Cleaning Fee – includes linens, pillows, and additional blankets for our two onsite structures. As well as propane and garbage removal of the onsite rubbish container. Guests are expected to leave the site as they found it with all garbage contained in the site bin and all farm stand items returned to the farm stand.
Additional non-exclusive guest access to a 3 acre pond picnic field, walking paths, livestock barn, and our farm stand. There is also a boat launch at the end of the property operated by our neighbor with a $10 fee for use. Please bring your own paddle boards, canoes, kayaks and small motor boats if you would like to use the launch, there is no rented watercraft available. There is no swimming or lingering at the boat launch.
Pets – Dogs on leash are welcome. Guests should understand that we raise sheep, cattle, pigs, and fowl on the property and any pet that becomes a nuisance could result in our having to end your visit without returned fees. It is important to note that we have a ranging farm dog, Stella, with access to the full property and she often finds her way to the Glamp Ground on her rounds. Stella is a sweetheart, (unless you are a racoon), she doesn’t start fights, but if your dog is prone to aggressive behavior it is best to reach out before booking. Stella is safe with children and respectful, but she has a job to do on the farm and her access is not limited.

A wonderful stay. The site is gorgeous. There's a really nice mountain scenery that can be enjoyed directly from the comfort of the living room. There's a wood stove that creates a great atmosphere and helps keeps the cabin very warm. As a bonus, theres plenty of wood to chop outside if you'd like to try that. (There's also already chopped wood so it's not necessary to do it). De Ann was a wonderful host and stopped by to say hi. She was very accommodating to our schedule too.

2 nights at North Wind House: Historic Cascadia
I stayed in the Willow Cabin for two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday, and it was exactly the peaceful reset I was hoping for. I arrived after 9pm, and even in the dark, the property felt welcoming with its whimsical lighting guiding the way. Reg, the host, was there to greet me and walk me through everything — from the cozy cabin setup to the full outhouse bathroom and the little kitchen area with a fridge for essentials.
The cabin itself is simple and calming, with a twin and a queen bed, both with fresh linens. Reg had the space heater going before I arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch. Since I stayed during the colder season, I was grateful I brought a heated blanket, and I’d recommend others do the same that time of year.
The water straight from the tap was incredibly fresh and delicious, truly something you don’t get in the city — just a small detail that made the stay feel even more special.
What really stood out to me was the beauty and quiet of the property. Reg genuinely encourages guests to wander and explore, and it made the whole stay feel more personal and grounding. It’s the perfect spot for anyone wanting to unplug, reflect, and enjoy a truly low-amenity, chill cabin experience.
And I have to mention this — the shower water pressure and heat were amazing. Truly a highlight!
If you know you enjoy a simple, peaceful, back-to-basics kind of stay, Willow Cabin is such a gem. I’d absolutely return.

Reg’s hundred acre wood is a charming mix of huts and outbuildings new and old. The vegetation overgrowth and misty air conceal various construction materials and antiques around the property. Dishes and coffee are available, and the BBQ worked as long as you can squeeze into the narrow place where it’s situated. The washroom is cute, the kitchen is slated for demolition, and the cabin we stayed in was warm. Reg was enthusiastic about showing us around the property, and introducing us to the sheep.

I was at the Mountain retreat with my daughter and 12-year-old grandson. We were all awed by the home, the views, and the sense of beauty. DeAnn made sure we were settled in and let us know she was available quickly if we needed her help.

Such a beautiful cabin, we stayed there with our in laws in the fall and it was so cozy. The view is stunning and so much space for our dogs to run around and play! Loved the wood burning stove, kept the place so toasty and with the rain it was such a vibe. Would absolutely be back! The host was so kind and responsive as well- she lended us whatever we needed and helped us get the fire going in the cabin.

Reg has created a very cool space on his property. We loved staying in the analogue room, it felt very private and the bed was really comfortable! There’s a cozy washroom with a clawfoot tub and hot water and a kitchen both only a few steps away.
The property itself is stunning! Lots of hiking to explore and a volcanic grotto that had some of the most incredible rocks I’ve seen. This place is magic!

Weekend Trip to Rusty Ranch Tree Farm and Forest
Had a short stay here last minute in the cabin and it was wonderful! Definitely would love to come back another time for longer so I can explore the property more. The cabin has a top bunk bed and a full sized futon that was actually very comfortable. The bottom bunk is two benches with a table which was nice to eat and play cards on. There is a campfire pit and a compost outhouse which was very clean and nice. A snack shack is available where you can purchase stuff with cash or Venmo. Hope to be back next year!
